I'm not changing my avatar and the Word of God always stands. The Word is not something to laugh about and besides, we really don't know what Jesus looked like, it is an artist's interpretation. I think we will all be surprised when we see Jesus as he is.

Here is a nice little description of Christ:

Revelation 1 (KJV)

13And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

14His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

15And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

16And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

Even if His hair turns out to be long, it won't be brown.

It is a bit unfair to insist that representations be based on that seen by Yochanan(John) in the revelation. Any representation is going to be inadeqate. Maybe this is why we were commanded not to make any graven images.

Sorry...it was meant to be light-hearted.

Being light-hearted in some places may be a sin. BTW I took your post as funny.

No one laughed at the Word. But you have to admit your adamant stance on long hair on men and the picture in your avatar do not match. The picture is of a man, in this case Jesus, with long hair. And you are correct in your assertion that the Word of God stands. However, it does not forbid men to wear long hair. Paul simply said it was a shame. Not a sin or against the rules.

Paul simply said it was a shame.

And, as has been pointed out repeatedly, placed in its first century context, this passage does not mean what it seems to in the 20th/21st centuries.

And I tend to agree with Paul that men should wear their hair shorter than waist length.

I personally don't understand why anybody would want hair down to their waist. Seems like it would just get in the way.

And from someone who used to have her hair down to her waist, it sure takes a long time to wash.

But I still maintain that the guy I went out with whose hair was longer than mine was sure nice to look at.

As someone else who used to have hair that long, it also gets caught in everything... like your seat belt and your car door...

You guys gals, if I had hair to my waist, I would have a literal pain in the neck from all the weight. I cannot imagine.

LOL. Yep.

But it's not really a plus in hot humid weather, though.

Lioness, with your beautiful wavy hair, you'd probably have to have a cart to carry your hair around in if it was waist length.

I had a good friend in college with beautiful, thick curly hair... She said if she tried to grow it out, she looked like a Christmas tree...

I was thinking a cute fella to follow me around holding up some of the weight would be a really good idea.

I've always had long hair and in high school I had really bad migraines. I went to the doctor and without even doing MRI's or anything he lifted my ponytail and said, "Cut about 9 inches off and then tell me how she is." *grin*

I dated a guy once who had long beautiful shiny thick blonde hair. It looked like corn silk it was so pretty. I think that was the first time I truly coveted a man's hair.

I am ashamed.
