Argh. You know you're taking yourself and your posts way too seriously when you don't notice stuff like that. Thanks for the lesson in humility.

I have always wanted to go bald, but I am waaaaaaay to chicken. plus, my head is shaped like a basketball. i'm all cheeks, like a chipmunk.

i don't think my husband would appreciate it at all, but just the thought of not having to fuss with or constantly pick at my hair seems heavenly. maybe i could just invest in a nice wig.

But elastic, you'd still have to care for the wig.

When I think Bic I think of cheap ball point pens.

Or stereo speakers ( I have a pair of Bic Venturi 1s)

C'mon - use a name that means razor like Gillette or Schick...

GILLETTE - For a Shave a cut above the rest!

I'm of a certain age (okay, I'm fifty-six), and can remember sitting next to my grandpa in the 50s and watching the Friday night fights on his tiny black-and-white TV. It was sponsored by Gillette, and their crazy cartoon parrot mascot was always yelling: "Look sharp! Feel sharp! How ya fixed for blades??" Good times. And by the way, I'm an old saved ex-hippie (the seventies' Jesus Movement), and still wear my hair full. Our son, 30, is a missionary to the New Age/backpacker culture in Northern California, and wears his hair in a ponytail (plus he also sports a swell Poopdeck Pappy chin beard). Ah, that's my boy!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread, already in progress...

nah,,i'd just spray it down with hairspray, and only wear it when i have to be in front of people. if it ever needed washing, i would just toss it out and get a new one.

Poopdeck Pappy is Popeye's dad in the old Max Fleischer cartoons. And his chin beard stuck out better than Uncle Sam's!

Too true. Is it just faulty memory or did iceberg used to have taste?

It's faulty memory.

Back when we were youngins' we didn't have all the choices of salad greens that are so popular now.

At least, that's MY story.

Lately, I've been leaning towards romaine.
