That doesn't sound like a too small issue. It sounds like the acidity of his urine is bothering him, maybe? Have you tried various topical creams on it? Does it help?

Jeanie, that's a pain about your cord!

Sarah, Jake looks about the size of Noah and your Hannah the size of my Hannah, though I know she is older.

I voted 3, 4, and 5 months...Hannah, Levi, and Noah, in that order. We didn't know Nick until he was 17 months, so I don't know about him.

LOL...thanks Jeanie!!! I would have been in it, but we were the only people there so there was no one to take the pic.I almost sent Paul back to the van to get the tripod, but I didn't...lol

yeah I agree...it doesn't sound like a wrong size issue. It sounds like a wrong type of diaper issue. It could be that he isn't reacting well to them after he pees....you may have to switch brands to something that isn't going to react as fast with him. Which kind do you use again?

yeah they might be about that size.....what size clothes do they wear now? Jake is in size 10's and Hannah is in size 4-5.....well regular 4'S (not toddler....4T) and 5's if they are small.

I think Timmy was 30 pounds at 12 months. He wasn't mobile until 13 months though. At his two year check-up he was 42 pounds.

My Ella is 4 and weighs less than your 2 year old. She is only 32 lbs.

Y'all, I promise I do feed them!

This weekend John Cooper ate an entire avocado all by himself. That is a lot of calories. He just burns it all off! It takes a lot of energy chase the cat around the house, climb up the fire place, etc....

Noah is in 10/12, and Hannah is in 4/5, though some of them are a bit too long still.

LOL...yup...they sound about the same size!!!! Jake was 8/10's about two months ago...but then grew out of all those and is in the 10's now...I am sure when we get him some summer stuff it will have to be 12's though because these he has now are getting too tight.

Donna/Sarah:

Pee doesn't touch this area. It's the plastic tab thingy that goes over the front that seems to rub on his upper thigh when it gets heavy after he goes tot he bathroom. I'm wondering if that means it's too small since it's rubbing?

How DO you know when diapers are too small?

I knew Hunter always needed the next size up when either he leaked through, started having blow outs, or when I had to start putting the tabs furthers apart so it would fit.

What can I do for constipation for 3 week old Mary? Took her to the dr and he said I can use glycerin suppositories, but I'm not quite willing to go that route. Plus the suppositories I got at the pharm look kind of big. Is there something a little more natural I can do for her?

Jae, if the diaper is getting heavy, there may be pee in the upper part of the diaper on his leg. Or it may be a sensitivity to the dye in the diaper...one of my kids had that issue.

Nicole, you can try just the tip of a thermometer with vaseline on it. It will stimulate the muscles there and help him poop. JUST the very tip though. I think I'd try that before I'd try suppositories.

Saebella is 7 months and only weighs 14.1 at her last appointment monday. She is VERY active though...she's been crawling since 4 1/2 mon's and is pulling herself up, crusing, and standing alone now. I don't know what her hurry is.

Donna when I try that what should I expect. Will she have a bm right away or will it take a little while for that to stimulate her bowels. And do I just insert the tip and let it sit there for a minute or just put it in and take out right away? (sorry if I'm sounding duh about this) Also do I lay her on her tummy or back?

My SIL used to have to do this with her little ones, until they were a couple months old, or they would not poop. She would hold them on their back on her lap, with a cloth diaper under them, and kind of spin the thermometer in a circle around the rectum. Usually, it would be pretty quick and they would poop. Sometimes there was a LOT of poop, so do be prepared for that.

We had to do that for Jimmy too. BF babies don't poop for several days it seems like. Nicole, did you know glycerine is made from animal fat? Parents have been putting animal fat up their babies butts for centuries. It's only been in the last century that the it has come in a nice sanitary capsule. If you think that suppository is too big, you can buy infant suppositories at he pharmacy I think.

The dr said they were small, and I got these from the pharm. However I couldn't exactly open the bottle there at the pharm. They are a little big for my preference like a Hot Tomale candy (that's the only comparison I could come up with ) It's funny though because she has poop in just about every diaper. Not a lot of poop, but it is always present.

What makes you think she is constipated Nicole? People thought Nath was constipated too but it wasn't that at all. Have you looked at it being anything else? I know a nurse told me to give the baby some apple juice, but I don't know what age you can do that from.

Poor Nath, his teeth are really bothering him, I am not sure if he has a slight cold, there is no cough or runny nose, but his cry is a bit hoarse when he cries out and he is warm. Could be the teething making him warm, but not sure about the hoarseness...

Yolanda- Praying for little Chase.

Weight- Nath turned 7 months yesterday, at 6 months or just after 6 months he was 7.25 kilos or there abouts (16 lbs). I don't remember when Grace was that.

Hugs yolanda.

How do u know when diapers are too small? He gets the worst rash on his upper thighs from the diaper dropping after he goes to the bathroom.

I know what you're talking about. My DS would get this too when his diapers would get too full and they would sag and move and it caused almost like a rugburn type rash. Luckily it didn't happen very often usually when I didn't catch that his diaper was full right away, when I get them changed right away it doesn't happen. Otherwise, I don't have an answer for you except that they might actually be a bit too big, not small. Since the friction is caused by them having room to move and not being too tight, at least in my DS's case anyway.

16 pounds at 2 months isn't normal?

Hannah was 13 lbs at 2 months. Levi was 13 lb 7 oz at 2 months. So he is a big boy! I think Levi outgrew his infant seat at about 6 months, by length and weight.

Yup, Nathan had to be switched at 6 months to a convertible seat because of legnth and weight. He weight 16lbs 11oz at 3 months old.
