Well, I can remember sometimes the edges would irritate Brandon's legs (I used cloth with Nate so that was not a problem). You could try placing the tabs so that they don't do that, or using a diaper cover, or clipping the tabs in half or something.

Wow, how do you guys remember how much your babies weighed and when? Especially you who have more than one child!!!! All I remember is what he weighed at his last appointment...at his 6 months needles he was 18lbs 11oz. I have no idea how old he was when he was 16 lbs...obviously younger than 6 months!! Well, I went to my own doctor's appointment today, I was seeing the psych about my PPD and asked if I could go off the meds because I am done breastfeeding, so he's going to see me again in 6 weeks and check up on me. But I think I'm doing pretty good, so it will be nice to be off the meds...one less thing to remember I didn't end up taking Chase to the hospital, we got into a clinic so the doctor there listened to his chest and said he might sound a little rattly, but it's not down in his lungs, just in his throat, and that it's just cold symptoms, and he's ok. So that's good. He was an older man, and what a nice man he was!! We're still giving him puffers, according to our family doctor, and using the nose sucker (when both mommy and daddy are home, because it takes both of us!) So, he's sleeping now, in the pack and play in our room...maybe that will help him sleep better? It's worth a shot, I'll try almost anything now! Oh, a girl at my mom's group today was asking if he wakes up because he loses his soother and I said yes. She asked if he could put it back in by himself if he could find it and I said yes, and she told me when her little guy was smaller, she used to surround him with soothers and at first she would help him find them, but she wouldn't put them in for him, just help him find them, and I guess eventually he did it himself! I might just have to try that too! Thanks for all your prayers today, he seems to be feeling better tonight. ETA....Jae!!! So cute, just want to scoop him up and cuddle him!!!

ORIGINAL: nicole6598 What makes you think she is constipated Nicole? People thought Nath was constipated too but it wasn't that at all. Have you looked at it being anything else? I know a nurse told me to give the baby some apple juice, but I don't know what age you can do that from. No I haven't thought of anything else really. Her symptoms at first look seem like constipation. She pulls her legs in and she grunts/strains. This has been going on for the past two weeks. quote:
you said she has poop in her diapers.....what is the consistency of it? Is it sticky or gummy? If so then I would say there is a possibility of her being blocked up. If not then I would say she is just not pooping the way you think she should be, but not constipated. Sarah -- Thank you for your post. The consistency I would say is soft/stringy. So maybe she is not constipated. I was/am concerned because of the way she acts.

Mislaid that one too, and so the next night gave her still another one. The next morning I went to get her up and found that she had one dummy in her mouth, and one in each hand! At bedtime that night she wouldn't settle just with the one dummy, but when I gave her the other two, she sighed and fell asleep within a couple of minutes, lol. That was how she was right up till when she gave up her nighttime dummy/ies at around 2.

Grace just used to do this little "eh" sound when she went but Nath sure lets you know he is doing something but he isn't constipated, he is just vocal. My Paed said that breast fed babies rarely get constipated and if they are going every day and its not little pebbles then it is fine.

LOL, Manda. We used to do that with Timmy too. He never had a lovey or anything, so he always had one in his mouth and one in each hand.

Thank you everyone for your input; it does help. Yolanda - I'm so happy to hear you got some sleep. I'm finding Mary really likes to sleep on her tummy. I put her on her tummy last night and she would fall asleep on her own after the night time feedings. I didn't have to sit and rock her.

So maybe she is not constipated. I was/am concerned because of the way she acts. at this point it doesn't sound like constipation to me then.....sounds like her body just doesn't know how to use it's own muscles yet. If she seems like she is in pain then I would try the juice (I personally hate using suppositories, and when we have had to use that hubby has been the one to do it, NOT me!!!). Also try changing her position....it could just be that in the position she is laying or being held that she can't get control well over those muscles she needs to use. So try a few different positions that will help her isolate those muscles. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES...and no matter what anyone tells you....DO NOT give her corn syrup!!!!! This is something that older people especially will say to use, but that is the reason we now have a 7yo with corn syrup allergies...her dr gave it to her without our consent before we could even figure out what she was doing...and it was before her body could handle it, so she developed an allergy to it. quote:
