Yeah, it's kinda like when you're sick with a cold. Symptoms aren't too bad in the day, but at night it's the worse. When cold medicines for infants were still out, I'd only have to give Timmy them before bed and usually once more in the middle of the night to settle his cough and reduce his temp, but during the day he didn't cough much or have a fever.

I would say that she is a person who does not like to be put on the spot. I am the same way, and I know it has been perceived as ungratefulness when really I am just super uncomfortable

I had a baby shower this past weekend and the weekend before. At both I was so nervous while opening gifts. I felt really hot and my neck and arms broke out with red splotches, and I was shaking. I hate being the center of attention. I kind of rushed through opeing the gifts, but I plan to write really nice thank you notes to make up for it.

I found a place in town that sells homeopathic remedies for teething. I'm trying to find someone who can bring it home for me, but not sure if anyone can get it or not. I won't be going into town again until Thursday. I asked my BIL, hopefully he'll get it.

Yolanda I was about to pm you back but then I noticed you found them. I know you asked about them a while ago in here and I wrote a list of all the places I have seen them if you can't get a hold of them.

Thank you for all the good ideas everyone!! I wrote a big list of everything and put it on my fridge, hopefully that will help me think ahead on what to feed her more.

I was all inspired and decided to make her some french toast last night for dinner thinking she would love it. Well apparently I didn't pick an appropriate time for her because even though it had yummy jam on in she wouldn't even try some. Such a turkey .

Wish I could keep up with this thread! I'm having trouble keeping up with my babies.

I do have a question. I remember a while ago we talked about milestones disturbing babies sleep. Do they also disturb their daytime behavior??? Biruk has suddenly become soooo temperamental, grouchy and clingy. But he's also hitting a whole bunch of major milestones and doing something new every couple of hours: proficient climbing, pushing furniture around to "walk", doing the "tipi" move (butt in the air). Yesterday he was just horrid, but in the evening he stood up by himself from a squatting position, twice! That's when it occured to me that maybe he's feeling a little disturbed or something with all the new connections being formed in his litte brain?

Makes sense to me, Maggie.

Sorry your little ones are so busy, but YAY that they're so busy! Before you know it, they'll be able to play for longer without you though...which is definitely bittersweet.

Maggie - I don't know the answer to your question, but it makes sense to me! (Congrats on the milestones!)

~~~
Can I just say THANK YOU LORD for swings! God created them, I swear.
Last night Jadon was not consolable. I knew he wasn't hungry, didn't have a dirty diaper, had a bath, wasn't too warm/cold, but all he did was scream cry. I think his tummy was a little upset. In the end I put him on my breast just to see if he was hungry. He gulped a few times and then FINALLY fell asleep. However, once he did sleep he slept about SEVEN HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I woke up at six with him and sang him to sleep at 8. He didn't want to sleep then either. However, once he did he slept FOUR hours. (of course, in bed with me again). He might sleep 2 hours in his bed, but that's the max.
Everyone IRL tells me I'm making a huge mistake letting him sleep with me at night, but I admit I'm starting to enjoy it. I look forward to the time I can transition him (i wish i knew when that was?) but I do enjoy waking up to his sweet little face in pure contentment beside his mommy. I love watching him wake up slowly.
I personally wouldn't put jam or anything else on it...I don't like my kids to have that much sugar, and the taste of the french toast itself is just fine if you get used to it not being sweet.
I think it can Maggie...I know with Emma especially it was very much like that. She still is like that....gets whiny and irritable when she starts to get to new developmental milestones.
I finally did it! I figured out how to upload pictures all by myself. (Yes, I know...easy peasy for most of you, but I usually have to have help and can't do it on my computer.)
The changing table/dresser my Daddy made (with cute little chocolate face boy in front of it...he got into my chocolate covered pretzels when I wasn't looking!)
Top of changing table
Hannah just deliberately disobeyed me and when I called her on it, she told me, "I am three. I can do whatever I want." Hahahahaha...nice try kid. Tell it to the naughty corner.
Lucky I had swallowed my orange juice because when I read that line about the naughty corner I could of almost spat it out with laughter
Janine,
Sounds to me like maybe it would help for you to tell fewer people IRL what is essentially your own business! The fewer details the better! You don't *have* to tell them or ask their opinion - just do what feels right for you!
Can I just say, Amen & Amen!? Seriously...if you're not ready to 'defend' your choices to nosy busibodies then just don't mention it. Just tell people that you're all doing well and that your son is a fantastic sleeper (because he is!).
Janine, I'm kinda in the same boat...we've been having a few sleeping troubles lately, and I keep getting told (by the same person) that I'm creating habits by feeding Chase at night, or letting sleep in my bed, and then today when she asked how he slept last night she said "guess you'll have to let him cry..."
I just popped back and said "I really think there's something going on, so we're going to try some homeopathic remedies"
From now on, I'm not going to tell her what we do at our house in the middle of the night. We never shared that information before we had a baby
I forgot to mention, I was able to get some teething remedy tonight, we had to go to town to pick up our rescue van for the fire department, so we stopped by the store on the way.
We'll see how tonight goes.
Does anybody know if I can use homeopathy at the same time as Motrin or Tylenol? Or should I just stick with one at a time for now?
Chelle -- In our household, swings are a gift from God! NO joke!
Yolanda - LOL I Love it when you said that no one knew what went on during the night in your household pre-baby. Ditto here! I am goign to take that SAME mentality!
~~~

Jadon is being really weird today. Sleepign more, not eating the same as he was before, and now he's spitting up . The spit up is a rank sour smell. I hope he's okay. I'll worry tomorrow if it continues.

Yolanda I am going through sleepless nights still with Nath too. I don't tell some family members anything because they are of the "babywise" stuff which I dont agree with. Its best to just not say anything to some people I have learned!
I can see the white bump of Nath's teeth trying to come through, he has the reddest cheeks and just wants to eat all the time, every 2 hours last night, although the wind was causing him trouble too.

Just dropped off some clothes to a friend who had a baby 2 weeks ago, her second. She has severe PPD, they were thinking of hospitalizing her, she made the mistake of re-reading babywise, although we had both spoke about it many times before and how it didn't help us with our firsts, she thought she would give it another go. I told her to burn it . Luckily her mum and dad are both retired so they have been taking her son every second night through the night (he is bottle fed) and her hubby still has 1 more week holiday. If you can remember to pray for her that would be great!!

It's fine to use them both together if you want.

What have you been eating? With your childhood sensitivities it might be a good idea to try and keep track of what you are eating then when something like this happens you have something to look at... It also is a good weight loss tool

Well, last night was a much better night. Somehow I feel worse today, but I'm glad for the little guy.
I gave him some of the Camilia (it's the same thing as the hyland's teething tablets, only it's already in liquid form) before bed, and he went to bed around 9:00, and woke up at 12:30, but when he woke up, he wasn't screaming like he has been. I just rocked him to sleep. At 2:30 he woke again, not screaming, just crying, and I gave him another dose, and then he woke again at 4:30, and rocked him to sleep again.
Up three times is better than 5 times the night before, and he's acting different, no screaming, just crys or talks when he wakes up, and he doesn't act all restless and he isn't flopping his arms and head all around when he's trying to go back to sleep.
We're making progress!

Janine, it's my MIL that keeps commenting on our nighttime habits, and she calls every day to see how he slept, so today I'll just say "better" and leave it at that. I know she means well, and she really does care, she just has some old fashioned ideas. (I mean, her kids are both over 30 )

I agree with Ryanne - the sourness gives the clue that it could well be a reaction to something you ate. Keeping a food diary and noting any differences Jadon might help for the future, as it will help you to remember.

Yep. I know if I ate to much dairy the first few months or a lot of veggies it really messed with Hunter's stomach. Eventually he got use to it and I could eat anything I wanted, but those first few months he was really sensitive to what I ate.

Yolanda, that great he slept better. Hopefully he'll continue and those teeth will come in soon!

Janine, when he spits up now, is it a long while after he's eaten or right after? My babies' spit-up smelled nasty if it was in their tummies for a while before it came up. But, if it came up right after they ate, it didn't smell too bad. My theory was that it got partially digested with stomach acid and that's why it smelled bad, but I could be wrong. If it's a while after he's eaten, are you exercising him when he does it? Try waiting 45 minutes after nursing before you exercise him or give him tummy time.
