I think you told me about that....I use csvu.net to get updates and read ahead (find out what is currently happening in the UK) but I like the Sun because it has stories about what is going to happen in the coming weeks which csvu doesn't...and because they do funny stories....like how they showed up at a pub in Manchester to film a scene and Johnny Briggs (Mike Baldwin) was there....turns out it was his local. He asked to be in the background while they shot the scene but they said no. Would have been funny!

Thing is, lexie, with The Sun you can never be quite sure it's actually true. That's one of the main reasons I avoid it.

Aga when i researched the Olympics to teach to the kids at school I read somewhere that French is the language because that is one of the most widespread languages in the world....

I think its because French is spoken throughout Europe, Canada and its an official language in some african countries as well. That's quite a bit. A lot of our Middle Eastern people speak french as well.

OK folks (rolls up sleeves)I'm ready to get back into the swing of debate having returned from a lovely 'summer' holiday on the Welsh coast. A memorable week sitting on the sand, battling the wind and rain whilst feeding my kids gritty sandwiches - aaaaah. Seriously - we had a great time in the rock pools and the weather didn't bother the children at all. Wales is beautiful - but not as nice as Cornwall (I'm biased - I grew up in Devon and Cornwall).
There - now I've done my bit for British Tourism.
So, lets just say I get a very large bonus this year - where in the US should I visit? Anywhere off the beaten track appeals to me.

That's true...but they're still funny stories! I started out reading the news (for the reason above) but our Sun, while not as dirty, is the same way, you don't know how much you can trust the journalism.

No, the cold. I was in Florida one year at Christmas and it was in the high 50's, low 60's during the days. People were bundled up like the next ice age was coming. Nice to know The Sun is good for something! Their advertising is way too funny (sorry Nicole, I'd probably not have seen it if you hadn't mentioned it!). Manda, for once, they got the story right (well, at least the medal count!).
Lexie ~ Bolt's cousin lives about 40 miles away from me! I watched 'Cool Runnings' this afternoon ~ have you seen it? It's about the Jamaican bobsled team from 1988, but it's very fictional, which is a disappointment. I suspect I will be watching out for them in 2010!

I have seen Cool Runnings numerous times....Dh refuses to watch it. He assumes it's full of Jamaican stereotypes (which it is) and doesn't want to see it. But I'll get him to watch it eventually. That's cool about Bolt's cousin! I'm trying to get Dh to find out if there were any Powell's in his family...they have the same eyes!!! LOL!
One of the bobsledders from the 88 Jamaican team still bobsleds for Canada.
