Shredded Wheat, Margie? Is that what it's like?

If it is, then it's *nothing* like Weetabix!

Ah, yes! Shredded Wheat! I love cereal. I have about 5 different boxes of cereal right now. It's just me, but I like my variety! I have: Kellogg's Smart Start, Post Grape Nuts, General Mills Oatmeal Crisp, Wheaties & Golden Grahams...
The thing that worries me with imports is that they change it to meet consumer's tastes. One girl I used to work with who was from Hong Kong had the Asian version of Ovaltine and there was hardly any chocolate or sugar taste to it like the American version has.

Manda, do ya'll have Shredded Wheat over there? It looks sorta similar to Weetabix. Big loaf of wheat cereal. Ours looks more shredded while Weetabix looks more like flakes packed together. I'd bet the flavor is similar, but consistency isn't.

Do you guys have humidex too? Or just windchill?

We used the heat index and the windchill factors quite a bit in Indiana. However, I've never really known a need for using them in CA. If the temps here in CA say 80 degrees, then that is what it feels like.... maybe only off by a degree or so.

Yes we do have Shredded Wheat over here, and I'd personally say it looks nothing like Weetabix and tastes nothing like Weetabix! I actually don't like Shredded Wheat, but like Weetabix!

You're totally right about the consistency - Shredded Wheat holds its shape and can be quite crunchy, whereas Weetabix quickly turns to mush (yum!).

I dunno about the pickle (is it really a kind of pickle?) or weetabix? But on my next trip, I'll have to check and see.
It's real! It's good too, but I suspect that my pineapple and chilli chutney is gonna be better!

The Marmite worries me. I read up on it yesterday. I wouldn't want to buy a whole jar of it and not like it.
The good thing about Marmite is you can use it in different ways, including stocks for soup and such. So if you don't like it 'neat' it can be diluted.

I'd agree... when we were at school, we used to call shredded wheat 'straw' because that's what it resembled!

I think BT are trying to kill me...

My phone bill was nearly FOUR times what it normally is. I knew utilities were going up, but my electric bill is cheaper! Ok, so they've messed up and charged me for repairs that they shouldn't have charged me for...

BUT!

Thanks for that, Manda. I wish we had HBO! I think my friend has HBO, so she can probably record it for me on her DVR.

Ah, but Shredded Wheat is so yummy when its cold out and you pour warm milk over it.
The bite sized ones are a fantastic snack!

I prefer the frosted mini ones after they've been sitting in the milk a while, they get so good and soggy. Yum!

From what I gather, I'd probably like Weetabix since it's more like bran flakes or something like Total pressed together to make bars and when covered with milk, soften quite a bit to eat.

Is Little Britain a show with a storyline or is it skits more like a SNL program?

Looks hysterical either way if I had HBO.

They show it on HBO if you get that channel. You can watch clips of it on the HBO website too, and YouTube has a lot of clips from them too.

I used the "computer says no" line on one of my friends this weekend. He looked at me like I was crazy. I said I'm trying better to learn to say "no" more often. So now I think of Carol! LOL I told him he'd have to check out the show on youtube.
I don't have HBO either. It's a pay channel. If I wanted it, I'd have to call the cable provider and ask for it. To get that package it would be 51.66 GBP.

Have you ever seen 'Only when I laugh'? It's an old (late '70's-early 80's) comedy set in a hospital.

I have not. I was checking our PBS listings for Brit Coms and they did not have much to offer. My ex liked this show that was on one time. It was a guy who was disguised as a superhero and they had this baby who was kind of a superhero too?

If you mean the one where he was actually an alien, it's My Hero with Ardal O'Hanlon. My dd loved it!
