Hi ChelseaRae!

I don't mind being called a yank at all. Even if it was offensive these days, I've got bigger fish to fry..... how's that for getting us back to meat and fish?

Yeah, I don't mind being called a Yank either even though I'm a Californian/Oregonian.

Spooks

I know!

But I have to say that Richard Armitage is rather tasty!

Remember to watch tonight!!
This is true (about Richard Armitage)... and I have freeview, so I watched it Monday on BBC3! And then again on BBC1! Did you know about Adam leaving? I'd heard something a bit ago, but it didn't seem to be confirmed anywhere else ~ and then it was in the Radio Times that he was leaving, but didn't say when.

And as for Mr Tennant I did get a bit confused about it when the BEEB announced that a clip from 'The Next Doctor' would be shown on Children in Need and wondered if that was a foretaste of things to come. There was a Dr Who day here (in town) last Saturday. There was a Tardis (well. 2 actually) and loads of Daleks ~ they were really freaky!

You mind repeating all that in English?

This is true (about Richard Armitage)...

He is growing on me at an incredible rate! lol I was so surprised! Especially as I often find change difficult (even in TV programmes!) - eg as I have said, when Tom left Spooks, when Christopher Eccleston morphed into David Tennant - but as soon as I saw "Lucas", I thought "hmmmmm" and found myself really adapting rather easily!

Not until I read it in the RT.

I do so hope it's not Nesbitt or Morrissey.

That sounds great!! I'd have loved to have seen the Daleks - though if it had been Cybermen I really couldn't have coped!! (I'm serious! I'd have gone home!!)

There was a cute comic strip here where one character dressed up as "Dr.Who" for Halloween and no one could figure out who he was, they all thought he was Sherlock Holmes with an afro. (You probably have to read it to think it's cute!)

Yeah, I knew that. Mostly just giving them a hard time because I don't know the shows or the actors. Well, I know OF Dr. Who, but have never watched it.

You Canucks would LOVE Spooks if you saw it (not sure if it is shown in the USA or Canada) - but I am honestly not sure if the Yanks would (some might, some well hmmm....). agapetos knows what I mean

Edited to add (from Wiki):
quote:

In the United States and France, the show is aired under the title MI-5. In Canada the program originally aired as "MI5" but now airs on BBC Canada as "Spooks".

I'll have to check to see if we get BBC-Canada. I think we do.

We don't get BBC anything. However, we do get BBC news and some really old shows on PBS.

I'm trying to decide if I want to add BBC Canada to my lineup. It seems like a waste to me, but I'll have to check the current programming and see if it's worth it.

I don't know how much money you're talking about, but I would think it should be worth it just for Spooks. And Hustle if you can get that there.

Here's a list of shows, let me know if it's worth it.

Jam & Jerusalem (I watched the first series, I didn't really like it)
Fairy Tales
The Graham Norton Show
Ab Fab (but I already own it all on dvd)
Fantasy Homes by the Sea
Mary Queen of Shops (sounds interesting)
What Not to Wear
Top Gear
George Gently
Holby Blue
Judge John Deed
Spooks
Little Britain (again on dvd)

plus Eastenders and Casualty and a bunch of other shows we get on Canadian channels.

(Hustle comes on CBC)

I'd say it was worth it for Spooks and Top Gear alone (but then I don't know how much it costs!)

Graham Norton can be fun, depending on the guests; I'm not much of a fan of the others.

But see, shouldn't I start at the beginning of the show? Which won't happen with BBC Canada...hmm I wonder if I can find it on dvd.

Let us know how long it takes to download - it said "Slow" when I looked at the site!

Btw, you don't necessarily have to have watched all the Series. My son only started watching it in Series 4, for example.

You can always start at a later series and then watch earlire series later, and "catch up".
