for all you lovely ladies that are gonna be "new mama's" here shortly, Jennifer came up with a great question for the new Baby Chat thread with you in mind (about expectations and being prepared)....so go over there when you get a chance and check it out!!!

Isn't this a lovely shiny new chat thread Sarah's made for us?

LOL...yeah....admin doesn't like chat's to go over 100 pages, so the baby chat needed to be redone....and I noticed that the pregnancy was up in the 160's!!!! So I asked Kath and she gave the go ahead....boy we sure can talk a lot in just two short months huh!!!!

(cont'd from the other thread.....)

Speaking of little boy clothes and since Easter is coming up soon:

All you moms of little boys should be sure to have at least one year's "Easter outfit" which includes a bow-tie and those little short pants. A seersucker pin-striped jacket is a nice bonus. Then be sure to take LOTS of pictures and don't forget where you put them.

YUP!!! I agree!!!!!
OK...pics time......
HERE is our first son in his first Easter outfit (we couldn't afford anything fancy, and couldn't find anything, so I made that little vest for him).
HERE is our second son in his Easter outfit...
Boys can be soooo cute!!!!!!! (as well as girls too....gee, am I being fair to my girls by only putting the boys first Easter pics?)

I really need to learn to pace myself. It seems I am waking up with more energy than I have and so I throw myself into work. Then my energy wanes, real fast. I had a stack of clothes to iron. I've been standing for about an hour doing that and when I sat down (that was my first mistake) I realized how tired I was. It seems I am not getting real good sleep. And there are only two things that help me to sleep, chamomile tea and well intimacy before bed. So if I just keep switching off and on between the two hubby shouldn't get worn out and I won't get an allergy to chamomile tea! I hope that wasn't TMI. But if I don't do one or the other I am awake all night it seems, I just can't get comfortable. And then I'm tired all day.

My ms, breast tenderness and exhaustion seem to be very gradually going away. Although I'll have days that are worse than others. And days that are better than others. I'm taking this as normal, right? I mean, I'm 10 weeks and gradual is good, right?

Kathryn...I try to do everything in 10-15 minute spurts. Whatever isn't done in that 10-15 minutes can wait a while usually. So try that.

Yay to fresh thread!!

My chiropractic adjustment has fully settled in and I can say that besides stairs and rolling over I feel pretty darn back to normal. He was right when he said it would take about 36 hours for it to settle in and me to notice the true effects. I'm so relieved. Even stairs and bed are drastically improved. I don't yelp now and I can do the stairs like a normal person, not one step at a time. I love my Ty. Need to make every 2 week appts with him I think.

I am feeling my uterus pushing it's way up, thats kind of interesting. I had Jeremy feel the outline the other day and he was all like "um ok, weird but cool I guess" very non challant about it. He's cute.

oh and.. WE GET A CRIB TODAY. FOR FREEEEEEEEEE. Freecycle is AMAZING. Going to pick it up, and get some Chik Fil A.. I have a craving. THe crib is neat, will have to try post the picture of it, it has an underneath drawer too which I was wanting badly. Took a load of Jer's mind to get one for free, he's dreading the expenses coming up but understands their need.

After all the talk about car seats I told him I don't want used, I want fresh car seat and I won't compromise. He said ok, he wasn't going to argue with mom logic.

Good man.

Brandy - I am so glad you are feeling better and YAY for free stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sarah - Cute pics!

~~

I miss my cat. Really really miss her. It was heartbreaking to watch her leave. She knew something was up and hid. Jason had to get her out from behind the couch and I was the only oen who could get her in the cat carrier. I tried so hard not to cry, but the tears just washed down my face. The lady was really nice and gracious. She really seemed to find Abby beautiful and was excited to have her as her own. After they left I cried so hard I almost hyperventilated, but no need to get onto me - I picked myself up and just became numb. I know it was the right thing to do, but I had no idea just how much guilt I'd feel. I woke up in a panic wondering if Abby was scared with her first night in a strange home. And, then, of course, my MIL had to give me scenarios (even last night!) "Well, I sure hope her boyfriend likes her and doesn't leave the door open where she'll end up dead." Or, "Gee, I hope the boyfriend likes her and doesn't kick her and kill her." I was so mad at her last night I confronted her and just let her go. Yet, what if that DOES happen?

I know she's just a cat. I"m pretty sure I did the right thing logistically. I just wish the fear and guilt would go away. I'm sure it will with time. I just feel depressed today and really sad.

My job brought by their gift yesterday. Plus, they emailed everyone and told them they wre coming here so others added gifts with theirs. My job blessed us with a box of 200 #3 diapers and two huge boxes of baby wipes - 720 in each box! Plus, a big bottle of baby wash, lotion, and something else. The rest were lots of very very cute boy clothes, a book, and a homemade blanket from a coworker. It's beautiful. I sat on the floor opening the gifts and cried. They really hurt my feelings and I'm glad they came through in the end.

I am still hanging in there. Nothing new to report on the contractions or breathing. Still 2-5 min apart, i can definitely breath better, my hemmy's are what they are. I think the only new thing is the backache.

Jadon has 1 week and 8 hours where he must remain in his mommies tummy. lol

I hope ya'll have a great weekend. Enjoy the sun for me, if you can. Today is a day I'd love to go visit a cemetery and see the beauty that only a cemetery has.

Janine I'm so glad your coworkers blessed you with so many presents, how wonderful!!!

My best friend had a pregnancy very much like yours, she had constant contractions starting at 32 weeks. Her baby ended up coming two weeks early after only an hour of labor! Maybe with all these contractions you are having now your labor will be a breeze!

Ooh, I love a new thread!

Kathryn- my m/s and breast tenderness started falling away around 10 wks, as well. I am 14 wks tomorrow, and they're virtually gone!

Brandy, how exciting to get your crib!! And for FREE!! Post pics, please!

Janine, what a huge blessing to have co-workers who care for you! I'm sorry about Abby. I'm sure she'll be well cared for. ((hugs))

Janine...not trying to be the barer of bad news, but your condition of labor right now really won't have any bearing of how your real labor will go. People that have it easy, well, whether they got a head start or not they just have it easy. Getting a head start though does not necessarily mean you will have it easy....and as someone who has been there, you really need to mentally prepare for having it hard. Then if it is easy you are still ready mentally to do it. If you are mentally prepared for an easy birth though and your body has a hard time it is much much harder to mentally be there and do all you can in the moment. So be prepared for a hard birth....please.

I'll be disagreeable and well...disagree. I don't like my boys in those. Call me a redneck country girl , but I like my boys best in a nice polo and jeans.

Jae, I'm so glad your coworkers didn't "forget" you. I hoped they wouldn't.

Kathryn, gradual is good. I agree with Sarah about the 10-15 minute spurts. I have to do that too.

Hannah is positive for strep. We think Noah has it too. I AM GOING TO THE DOCTOR THURSDAY. So there. I feel better now.

Donna - Ugh, Strep is NOT fun! I used to get that a lot when I was a kid.

Emily - Now THAT'S exciting!!!

Sarah - I get what you are saying. :) I Promise I haven't set myself up for failure. I feel like I'm going into the whole labor thing a bit naive, to be honest. I'm not sure what easy vs. hard is, but I guess I'll find out soon. :)

I made a tuna sandwich today. It was the first time in over four years that I didn't have a cat begging for some. It was a sad moment for me.

Clothes: IMHO, no one has cute clothes like OLD NAVY!!!!!!!!!

I think you are getting a good idea right now of the uncomfortable-ness of the beginning part of active labor. I am sure you will get through just fine....you find ways to get through and find ways of easing the discomfort the best way you can. I am sure you will be just fine.

Thanks for the encouragement. Today I just feel numb emotionally and really.. just sad. I'm starting to hate the clutter in my home, the fact that the nursery is a mess, and that I can't even load or unload the dishwasher. I always get like this after being sick or something. I like to have a home that feels clean and right now it doesn't feel clean. There is just so much I WANT to do. It's worth it to keep Jadon growing inside of me and I know it'll get done eventually, but UGH till that point.

If I could I would:

Clean up the kitchen
Vacuum
Clean the bathroom
Organize my nursery
Go to Hobby Lobby to see if they have a four plate wall holder
Return things to Walmart
Get milk, bread, and miracle whip

However, that would cause my contractions to double in intensity which could then make labor happen earlier so instead I type in here and prepare to go watch another disc of Alias.

I hope Abby is okay. I really hope she's okay.

But Donna you forgot to quote the

My outfit gets a much better reaction when you bring the pics out 20 years later for the girlfriend...meanwhile your "big" boy is sitting over there going " MOM!"

My dear girl, what's to stop you phoning a few friends from church and asking each of them to do one of these? If you were at my church, I'd love to help you in this way, so I am sure your real-time friends would really love to help out and serve you like this.

God loves your cat; she will be fine.

call your group and tell them that you need help to do basic cleaning...see if some of the women can help you out. (OK...I see that Manda already said that...lol). They are already bringing you food....believe me, they will understand if you need some assistance in other ways too. If you don't want to call, get Jason to do it.

Janine- I'd come help you too! Unfortunately, hard to do from cyber world We had to rehome a dog when Eleni was a toddler- it was hard at first too (she was NOT good with toddlers- she never bit, but she kept growling, and since we knew this was not our last toddler, we decided to rehome her- she ended up with my brothers best friends family and they SPOIL her. I told them to expect a rough transtion, she might not play for a week, etc.- she played the second they got her home, never had an accident, sleeps with their daughter- she was great with preschoolers and babies and kids, just not the unsteady toddlers- Mandy is now in the perfect home for her, better than we could give her. God lead you to the right person for your cat, just trust in that. Perhaps next week you can call and check in on her? I bet she is doing great!

I dunno way, but it just feels awkward and wrong to ask someone to do basic cleaning in your house. I know that's dumb, but i struggle with that aspect a great deal.

yes I know...it's weird and hard....but it's sometimes necessary...otherwise just deal with the messy house. I will call one of them....give me a number and seriously I will call for you. I am sure they will understand.

Weird, yes. Humbling, yes. But I'm sure you know people who would love to help you and they're just not sure what you need. You have to take that step and let them know how they can help.

And then someday, when you know someone else could probably use some help (just had surgery, an older person who's been weak/sick, new mom, or mom-to-be on bedrest), you'll know to ask if they could use help with just those same things.

Christians are a family and we are to take care of each other. Sometimes that means you're on the giving end, and sometimes on the receiving end.

I guess it comes down to which feels worse to you: seeing and thinking (and obsessing?) about it all not being done, or feeling a bit awkward/wrong about asking. I would guess that once you'd got over the initial awkward feeling, you'd actually be glad, relieved and less stressed. And surely, your best chance of keeping Jadon in there for another 8 days+ is to be less stressed.

The other thing that occurs to me is this: please don't deprive your dear friends there the chance of being a blessing to you. It will bless them to bless you, to be able to think of themselves as an answer to prayer. Don't you think that if they knew you were in need and hadn't felt able to ask, that they might feel bad about it? I certainly would, if someone I cared about needed help and didn't feel able to ask me.
