I think if you like the name Gideon, you should convince Paul to use it. Don't worry about me. It's not like we're neighbors, and we already both have Hannahs anyway. I don't like to use names the same as people we go to church with, but I don't mind at all with people here.

LOL....actually our top two picks are Josiah or Micah...and Paul said yesterday that IF I go to July 4th, then he wants something a bit more "patriotic"....so he likes Justice if I go that long. We will see...the dr said today that she may let me go that long...but she really has to see considering my history. My mom can't come until then, and anything before that date we don't know what we will do with the kids...they can't be at the hospital the whole time (only during visiting hours...10am-8pm....and not during the last part of labor and delivery). So in some ways I do want to hold off til July when she will be here to watch them. However, I don't know if my body can handle that or not. I have already gained twice as much weight as I did with my last three pregnancies...and my BP is staying pretty high (for me)....around the 130-135/80-85 mark.

Erin- cute furniture! I forget, do you have you US scheduled yet? ---Wait, now I see you're scheduling it soon!

Emily- I like the Beatrice one, too. That's on looks alone. [:)] And cute belly pictures! It's fun to see you growing.

Donna- I'm glad your US went well. It's seems like you're enjoying keeping your secret from us WAY to much. [;)]

The boy/girl thing....honestly, at this point, I am totally up for either. I used to think I wanted a boy first. Then the last few years I've been in the middle. I'm maybe starting to have a feeling one way or the other, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I think that's why I'm so up for the surprise... because I really have no preference. And like you said Donna, THIS is the baby the Lord has graciously given to US. That's all I want!

Micah is my #1 pick for a boy at this point.
I'm s-l-o-w-l-y convincing hubby. [;)]

artemis -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/29/2008 5:54:01 PM)

I don't really care if I have a boy or a girl, but my mom REALLY wanted me to be pregnant with twins. She's been praying for them [8|] I think that if I hadn't lost a baby in December, she would have been disappointed when we found out that I was just having one baby. Now, though, she's just happy that this baby is safe.

I do think it would be easier to have a boy first... someone to protect any younger sisters [8D] But since I have five brothers, I don't think my family needs any more boys, per se. Besides, I have about 20 girl names that I like and only 3-4 boy names, and my husband doesn't like any of them [sm=icon_smile_roll.gif]

lilyofthefield -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/29/2008 6:18:54 PM)

Donna, you are so mean!!! [:D] (late reaction to the little prank you pulled) LOL!

Boy vs. girl... I really would have been thrilled either way, but it's funny. I have been SO excited to be having a boy, but you almost grieve a little about the things you'll miss without a girl. I would have felt exactly the same if we were having a girl (a little sad about missing boy things). [&:]

Sandy - right now I'm enjoying saying "3 weeks", but it will be fun in a couple days to say - this month!

Sarah, I love both names (especially Micah). I hope your BP behaves awhile longer.

artemis -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/29/2008 8:32:21 PM)

OK, what's up with this? I'm only 7 1/2 weeks and today my jeans felt like they were going to sever me in half [&:] I even took a shower at 7:00 tonight just so I could justify changing into my pajamas. Even in my pajamas, I feel "fat" (not pregnant... fat).I don't think I'm eating too much and I haven't gained any weight, so is this really all just gas/bloating? I have a pair of jeans that's a size too big, but I feel ridiculous wearing them at only 7 1/2 weeks [sm=icon_smile_boggled.gif]

PrincessDonna -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/29/2008 8:41:01 PM)

Bloating is normal at that stage, Amy, especially in the evening. Hormones are going wacky and things are adjusting.

Sarah, so you never did want to use Gideon...you were just trying to get me to spill the beans? Haha...nice try.[:D]

I am so tired. Which is ridiculous seeing as we lounged in bed until 10 this morning.[8|] But I did miss my afternoon nap and think I'm coming down with a sinus infection...oy.

You could always spell it "Justus" and it would be a Bible name and patriotic [;)]

I had another appointment today. I'm 30 weeks now, and I guess at 28 weeks they stop measuring the cervical length, so no more ultrasounds for me! But I do still have appointments every two weeks still.

hmmmm....have to look into that spelling of it. Where is it in the Bible spelled like that?

Amy, I was wearing my jeans fully unbuttoned and mostly unzipped with my bella band at around 7 weeks. Don't feel ridiculous! I was in mat jeans at between 11-13 weeks, and I hadn't gained any weight either, it was just my uterus growing and bloating. You're normal [:D]

Emily - love the belly pics!!! And a late May baby is still an on-time baby, and that's the main thing! Me, I'm just trying to hold out until June 5th. After that, come whenever you want, June Bug!!

I had an appt yesterday - 33w + 3d. BP was 110/64, urine negative for sugar/protein, June Bug's heart rate was 138, my fundal height was 33, and I've gained a total of 24 lbs. And - June Bug's head down again!! WUHOO! I'm definitely glad for that - I did NOT want the stress of knowing he/she was breech with studying for my exam! God is good =) My next appointment (May 12) is my GBS swab appt [:'(]. My m/w said that she thinks, if I'm positive, that she'll likely be able to get me antibiotics for home - which is great! We'll just pray that it's negative, though. I think we'll also be talking about the routine newborn stuff (ie. erythromycin, vitamin k, etc.) at the next appt, so I've gotta do lots of research and talk to my hubby before we go! [:D]

Donna, you are a bum! I think you're having a girl, though, since that was your gut instinct and you haven't been wrong yet! I don't know why you won't tell US though - you're no fun! [:D]

Lily - 3 more weeks! That's unbelievable, eh?

I can't believe I'm 5th!! It'll be an interesting race to the finish between Emily, Brandy, Adria, and I, since we're all due within about a week of one another - and Sarah - you too, since it sounds like you have a decent chance of being induced early [&:]. I hope for your sake that you're able to carry till July if that makes it easier for your family!! I hope, though, that your care provider takes your concerns seriously - you've had this condition each time, and you know your body best. I'm concerned that they're not concerned [>:].

EmilyAnn -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/30/2008 9:37:37 AM)

Kim- I think you are having a boy [8D]

David is head down but on my right side. His butt in up in my ribs on the right and his head is by my hip on the left. My midwife said that means he is more likely to turn postierior. [sm=worried.gif]

Thats why I started wear maternity pants so early. The others were just too uncomfortable. I was miserable!! I think I had a growth spurt during the last night or two, the maternity pants I am wearing today feel tight and last night I looked at myself in a snug shirt and thought I really looked pregnant. I'm going to take a picture Thursday, 16 weeks...maybe I'll share it. As long as I think I look preggers and not just fat!![8D]

lilyofthefield -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/30/2008 11:02:55 AM)

Amy, I couldn't fit into my regular jeans at 7 weeks either. You're normal! [;)]

Emily, Caden is positioned the same way. I did read on spinning babies that they are more likely to turn posterior from that position, but he refuses to move no matter what I try. [8|] Oh well.

Kim, it is pretty unbelievable! You're not far behind me either! (Oh, and you are SO from Canada - you even type out "eh") LOL! Of course, I type out "y'all" [&:].

Oh - here is a new belly pic...

BELLY PIC

TheEgyptianPrincess -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/30/2008 11:14:57 AM)

wow... what a beautiful and PERFECT pregnant belly!.... great pic lilly....

reach -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/30/2008 11:28:52 AM)

You are super cute! You don't look like I imagined. But most people don't on the internet!

What a cute belly!

I love looking at the pictures.

following_christ -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/30/2008 11:31:58 AM)

Cute pic Lily! And no stretch marks to be seen! Lucky! My belly looks like zebra skin! You are very cute. I love your hair! Not long to go now!

Kim, The race is on! I can't believe I'm # 2! Of course with my luck I'll probably go to 42 weeks. But she'll get here when she gets here I guess. I keep hoping that she comes early, and then I feel guilty that I don't want her to stay in there another 5 weeks! And then the next minute I want her to stay in there forever because she's so easy to take care of and please while she's in there and I know she's safe and I worry about her being exposed to such a cruel and dangerous world where I can't give her everything she'll need and want. Pregnancy hormones are crazy! I think I'm driving my DH batty. I'll be laying in bed crying that I'm so uncomfortable I just don't want to be pregnant anymore and then in the same sentence crying that I want her to stay in there longer until I'm ready to take care of her and provide for her properly!

Jessica, when we were newly married my DH said he wanted 5 boys and he wanted the first three to be named Justus, Trophemus, and Hunter. He thought it was cool that those names were in the bible! I told him he was crazy and we were going to have all girls!

I'm tired this morning. I don't seem to sleep anymore. I just lay there and toss and turn all night. I just keep chanting to myself "The end is in sight! The end is in sight!" Not that I'll be getting anymore sleep after she comes, but atleast I'll have a baby to distract me!

I just found out that my aunt and uncle are expecting! I'm so excited for them! They have been married for 4 years and they weren't sure if they were going to have any kids because my uncle already has a 12 year old boy from a previous marriage and they didn't know if they wanted to add anymore. I'm so excited! I think they will be great parents. And now my little girl will have a first cousin once removed to play with (there are no babies being born in my family right now, so she'd be all alone otherwise.)

I know it's very unlikely that this baby will be as early as Judah, but if he is then I'd be the SECOND one on the list!! [8D] That would totally mess up your race [;)]

Sarah - the name is found in Acts 1:23 and Col 4:11.

Now who's the stinker?[;)]

Lily, great picture and I agree, you do have a perfect prego belly!

LOL...no kidding! During my ultrasound yesterday, Hannah pointed out my stripes, which are filling in again. My mom told her those were my "Mommy marks" from every baby that has been in there so far. Hannah replied that she hopes she has lots of Mommy marks someday.[sm=crystreams.gif][:)] I really hate them sometimes, but need to focus on HOW they got to be there...by carrying life! What an awesome reminder of all the blessings we have been given!

Brian has been joking that this baby will be named "Cletus Brian Jr." if it is a boy. I reminded him that I'm the one that fills out the birth certificate paperwork and he'd have a hard time getting it past me. He claims it will fit nicely with what he intends to name his garage when he opens one someday...Redneck's Garage. Weirdo (about the baby name...I actually like the garage name...it's very Brian[;)]).

Royal.Fortress -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/30/2008 11:50:46 AM)

LOL - glad to see I've invoked everyone's competitive side [8D] The race is on!! Lily, we will of course let you go first - unless you go to 42 weeks, then it's every woman for herself!! BTW, your belly is sooo beautiful! Jess - you keep that baby in there! No line jumping!

quote:

David is head down but on my right side. His butt in up in my ribs on the right and his head is by my hip on the left. My midwife said that means he is more likely to turn postierior.

Yeah - when I was researching fetal positioning, that's what I read too. Thankfully, there's lots of stuff you can do to encourage a posterior baby to turn anterior - just in the way you sit and stand and such. My educator was likening our uterus to a hammock. When you're reclining, the baby's back slides to your spine due to gravity, so if you can sit very upright (or on a birth ball) or do the cat stretches (arch your back and then let your belly hang), you might encourage him to turn ... and they can turn right up to and during labour, so just keep on trying! June Bug's head seems to be right in the middle (that's where she grabbed it yesterday - lol) so I'm not sure what that means.

BTW, why do you say boy?

(((Adria))) my sleeping's not be so fantastic lately either ... although the past few nights have been heavenly - all last week I was awake every 1 - 1.5 hours. We're almost there!

Donna, that's so sweet!! From the mouths of babes ... if only we could see ourselves in such a manner, eh?

SweetLittleErin -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/30/2008 11:53:03 AM)

I've already got lots of stretch marks. My little brother saw them the other day when my shirt came up and was like "What happened??" I was just playing with his rambunctious dog and he was afraid he'd hurt me and the baby. I explained to him what stretch marks were.

BlessedMamaofmany -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/30/2008 11:57:16 AM)

Donna! I love it! Tell Brian I think 'Cletus Brian Jr' is AWESOME! And 'Redneck Garage' is a perfect shop name.

Lily, you are so lovely

Erin, I hope you'll share your pic with us, I bet you're so cute!
Sandy

Georgia-Peach -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/30/2008 11:58:04 AM)

I like to think of stretch marks as my "service stripes"...lol! Mine have faded a great deal since Hunter was born and are not as noticeable which is a nice surprise. I thought they would always look hideous. I love this feeling of being comfortable with my body for once in my life. No sense in dwelling on what it use to look like or what I wish it looked like. It is what it is and I gotta work with what I have got.

Karaboo2 -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/30/2008 11:58:11 AM)

I don't mind incurring stretchmarks from pregnancy ... what is disheartening is when the stretchmarks come long before you even THINK about having kids ... and then pregnancy just makes them more pronounced!!! [:(]

SweetLittleErin -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (4/30/2008 12:03:23 PM)

I hear ya Kara. My stretch marks were here LONG before the +preg test! Now I just have new ones! I am excited about those! [8D]
