or you could have a "cleaning party".....invite a few people over with the purpose of cleaning....you and jason provide dinner/lunch, they help provide the labor. Many hands make light work!!! (Hey, people have painting parties all the time, why not a cleaning/setting up baby's room party)

EmilyAnn -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/1/2008 6:56:54 PM)

Chris is having a painting party right now. Too bad for him it's a 1 man party. [8D] He doesn't mind, really. I think he prefers to work alone.

Yesterday my mom and sister came over for my midwife appointment. They stayed after and helped me get all the girly boarder wall paper out of the nursery. Then my daddy brought us pizza!! It was fun.

HomeSpunLady -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/1/2008 7:07:16 PM)

Donna I'm sorry the kids are sick. That is no fun. How are YOU feeling? How are YOU holding up? I"m praying you don't get sick.

On the upside I got tons done today, I didn't realize how much ironing I had to do. On the downside, I feel sicky. Oh well, the night does a down turn from here. Just sitting on the couch, reading, studying, or watching TV. It's rest time.

I have a pretty rotten cold and/or sinus infection going on, but it doesn't feel like strep. I may be swabbed Monday, just to be sure. Otherwise...okay. I've taken sudafed a couple times today and will take Robitussin before bed so I can stop coughing.

Royal.Fortress -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/1/2008 8:43:44 PM)

(((Donna))) Yucky sinus infection!! I hope you feel better soon - and the kids as well!!

Emily - how are you feeling today??

Yay for a new thread - thanks for noticing how ridiculously long the other one was, Sarah!!

Can I say that I don't like it when June Bug's having a quiet day? I've noticed that the days I'm super busy I hardly feel the baby moving, and the days when I can actually sit down and relax for a while, I feel him/her moving tonnes. I know that's awfully obvious ([8|]) but I don't like going hours without feeling a thump or going a few days without the kicks that move my belly on the outside - I just love those reminders that all is going well in there.

EmilyAnn -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/1/2008 8:48:36 PM)

I am feeling much better, but still coughing. I met with my midwife yesterday and she said a lot of people have what I have and the cough lasts about a month. [&:]

Baby David moves a lot when I take a bath. If it has been a while since I have felt him, I go relax in the tub and he moves a lot!!

Chris will be able to finish painting the nursery this weekend!! Yippee!! [:D]

My ms, breast tenderness and exhaustion seem to be very gradually going away. Although I'll have days that are worse than others. And days that are better than others. I'm taking this as normal, right? I mean, I'm 10 weeks and gradual is good, right?

You have given me a small glimmer of hope [:)] I'm 8 weeks and feeling [:'(][&:][:'(][:(]

I'm not online much anymore because scrolling up and down the pages makes me nauseous. Hopefully I can catch back up with you ladies once the all-day sick fest subsides. Can't remember how long it lasted with the first pregnancy, but I'm hoping it will be better by 12 weeks.

Brandy -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/1/2008 10:52:05 PM)

Ok ladies I have to stay away from ebay, it's too much fun.

I did find a stroller/pram that I think is ADORABLE and will be keeping an eye on.

Crib is in the houseeeee but not set up yet, we have guests coming next month, once they are gone we will arrange the 'nursery' like we want to and go from there. So once it's set up I will post pics. It's NICE. wow. was NOT expecting such quality. I should look at the sticker and see if I can find one online to show you guys.. I was floored. Such a huge blessing and I thanked her profusely while her 3.5 y/o daughter India held my hand as we walked out to the car, she was adorable. [:D]

Had some Gelato today, YUM, and baby loved it, I think she liked the coldness of it. Or she hated it.. hmm.. hard to tell.

Went and watched a movie, my lower back started hurting sooo much in the seat I was leaning over the railing in front of us and Jer rubbed my back for me, he's so good to me and my pregnant-ness.

Janine- WOW to your coworkers, I was sooo hoping they would bring things over to you and still want to bless you. That was really great of them.

umm I had more but I forget. Starting to get hungry again. geez. Could eat all day.

This was the first time I had ever seen Nadia move on the outside, is when I was taking a bath one night, laying on my back. I nearly flipped out. I mean I could see a poke, on the outside! I didn't see any outside movement again for sometime and thought I had imagined it.

Has anyone ever felt a part? I mean like a baby body part? I'll never forget the morning that I was laying in bed, waking up and I absentmindedly put my hand on my belly and I swear I felt an arm/elbow moving. Now that freaked me out. It was neat, but weird.

Can you play with them? Like touch a spot and they go or move from there with the part? That could be fun. and weird. but mostly fun.

IAMJulie -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/1/2008 11:25:10 PM)

I'm happy to see that I haven't been kicked off the expecting list despite that I've hardly been here since I got pregnant. Sorry. A bit overwhelmed with real life stuff, my internet life had to be put on hold. I suppose it won't get much better after adding #3. :)

Everything about #3 is still a mystery to us, we decided not to find out if it's a boy or girl in advance this time since we have one of each. This has been much more exciting than I expected it to be and it has the added bonus of complete strangers not giving their opinions nearly as much. We have picked Hosanna Marie for a girl and either Josiah William or Gideon William for a boy so at least we have names set aside.

I'm almost 33 weeks so I'm torn between thinking there isn't much time left and - yikes! I still have almost two months left! (Or more if this one is late like the others.) Seeing all the adorable tiny Easter dresses makes me wish I was due before then. I'm having a hard time not getting one even though I know there's no (or extremely little) chance of having a baby by then not to mention that I don't even know if it's a girl.

It's good to "see" you all again. As it gets closer to delivery I'll need all, it's sometimes hard to be surrounded by people who actually see labor in a positive light.

Royal.Fortress -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/1/2008 11:36:19 PM)

Julie - it's great to see you back here!!! And I'm happy to know that you haven't found out what you're having [:D] I think the names you've chosen are beautiful!

Kathryn - one time I woke up and felt this hard lump at the top of my uterus ... I was pushing on it to figure out if it was my fundus (lol) and June Bug THUMPED me for poking him/her. It was too funny! I burst into laughter all by myself in bed!!! I'm assuming it was a little foot all stretched out [:D]

Jenny-Fair -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/2/2008 1:07:01 AM)

Janine, if you lived here and I broke my leg, wouldn't you offer to come carry my laundry down the stairs?[;)] We have a church family to take care of one another. Right now it's your time to receive.

As for your backache--could be that baby is posterior (back of his head to your backbone). If that is the case, once you are in 'real' labor, you may want to spend plenty of time on all fours or over an exercise ball. That helped with Nate. He was posterior because I'd been sittin' too comfy (which you are doing right now out of necessity!) and because I had such a nice, big roomy pelvis. Well, Jadon is small enough to be comfy in your pelvis right now on top of you being reclined most of the time.

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/2/2008 1:20:50 AM)

yeah no one told me that with my first...he was posterior....ended up I was in back labor for 25 hours and most of that could have been avoided if he had been turned. I didn't know that though and no one told me that. He was born facing up though...which caused a few other problems.

Brandy -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/2/2008 1:21:00 AM)

Jen do you mean with your belly on the exercise ball? I'm trying to picture that.

Jenny-Fair -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/2/2008 1:23:36 AM)

Well, really more with your chest over the ball...I mean, balancing your ball-shaped belly on it might not be so easy! LOL

Sarah, do you mean no one told you about sitting too comfy? I didn't know, either! And after three days of labor, I really wish I had!

Brandy -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/2/2008 1:26:38 AM)

I was wondering how your round belly would fare against the round ball. interesting mental pictures.

I need to find the parts to my exercise ball. I have the pump and I KNOW i've seen the plug somewhere but I cannot find the tubing that actually blows it up. I'm kind of sad about it. I think it would be nice to have it right now, with my lower back pain.

no one told me about the position the baby was in or how to turn him. No one told me about sitting comfy either or the tilt of the pelvis causing him to want to be that way. I was on complete bed rest with that pregnancy for the last bit (few months) and no one ever told me anything about it. Even when I was in labor, and even when they turned me away from the hospital twice and tried a third time telling me I was not IN labor (well, I was...completely in my back) no one told me anything. It wasn't until after I had him that I started hearing about back labor and posterior babies, etc. It was quite annoying because there were so many other problems that we couldn't change, but that we could have changed.

Mrs.Wifey -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/2/2008 9:36:03 AM)

People told me not to sit comfy but there isn't much you can when your on bedrest and let me tell ya, back labor is NO fun. It wasn't my abdomen that hurt with contractions it was my back. It would get SO tense that it would hurt to breathe. The only thing that really helped was counter pressure from Micah and the nurses whined about me doing that because it involved sitting up[:@]<-stupid nurses. Gabby did turn to the correct position though as some point because she was born face down.

Flintejae -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/2/2008 9:48:34 AM)

I'm not sure what I can do about it. After last night and yesterday I'm realizing i really can't do anything if I want to keep Jadon in me as long as possible.

Last night was rough, really rough. I was so close to going into the ER. The contractions were so intense and very different then what I've had already. My back hurt and I had a lot of pressure in my pelvis and I had a hard time breathing. My entire belly was rock hard with the contractions - and the pain was higher than before - closer to my breasts then my pelvis. Yet, I had the pressure in my pelvis too. I literally laid in bed and thought, "Okay, this is it. My son's birthday will be March 2nd." Jason was great - truly amazing. He just knew how to rub and where to rub my back and feet. (Rubbing my feet just helped me some how.) I literally was just waiting for my water to break with the pressure i felt like I HAD to pee, but had already peed. I seriously almost called Ryanne to tell her this was it. I mean it was that different and that intense.

We got in bed together (we were reclining on the couch watching a movie when it started) and after he rubbed my back and relaxed me even more I was able to sleep and the intensity backed off gradually throughout the night. I still had them, but nothing that said - Go to the Hospital.

I did think, "my god, if my contractions get worse than this - Epidural is all I'm going to want". LOL

I don't know when his bday is going to be, but it feels closer every day - especially after last night. I am going to grab something to eat and go lay back down. I just wanted to update you all and enjoy a brief moment of sitting up.

PrincessDonna -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/2/2008 10:13:18 AM)

Jae, why would you go to the ER? Wouldn't you go to OB?

Jenny-Fair -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/2/2008 10:45:57 AM)

Every hospital I've been to we had to go through the ER to get to OB. In fact, when my friend Tia's water had broken at 35 weeks and I took her in, they wanted us to stand at the admittance desk in the ER filling out paperwork! I had to be extremely firm with the lady in charge, and once I was, they got her a wheelchair and an attendant, who filled out the paperwork on the way up in the elevator! LOL (Note: this only happened this way because Tia had planned a homebirth and so she was not registered at the hospital)

Janine, I didn't mean using the ball now. But when you are 'really' in labor (I know, I know...) it might be nice. Hey, can you drink chamomile tea? I always drink strong chamomile tea when I have menstrual cramps because it's a muscle relaxant (and your uterus is one giant muscle...yours apparently feels it needs plenty of training for this baby's birth). But I don't know if it's pregnancy safe...I bet Donna would, though[:D]

Or L&D. Although I think it varies by hospital... At our hospital you go to L&D triage if it's during the day and straight to L&D if it's at night. You just call ahead, tell them what is going on and that you are coming then they can have a bed all ready when you get there.

Brandy -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/2/2008 10:53:14 AM)

Janine I get more and more excited for you two three as each day goes by. Jason is doing sooo great and you two are going to do GREAT in labor/delivery. I can't WAIT !!!!!

Ladies, is it possibly her position that hurts my back? at 25w4d is she big enough to cause that much discomfort? its my lower back. Even with a ton of pillows and support including under knees it hurt to lay in bed last night and read. She was active as heck but I wonder how she is laying.. I'm pretty sure its feet on the left head on the right with some arms in my pelvis based on how she felt.

ug. we are running errands today and one of them maybe to sports store to get another exercise ball to sit on. I can then use the one I have as a back up ball.
