Thanks Jae - and I think I'll pass on Alias [;)] I've got Netflix to keep me busy, and lots and lots of books. And a little dude that will probably play peek-a-boo with me a million times a day [8|]
Really we don't know that I'll end up on bedrest yet - it's just the pressure I feel is apparently something women whose cervix's shorten feel. Or something like that. I've felt the pressure all along, and as of a week and a half ago I was a good length, so hopefully it'll remain long [:)]

peculiar_lady2 -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/3/2008 3:25:21 PM)

ok...so I had my apt today....just check up. The weather though has knocked out the power at the hospital, so I was the last person they saw.....and that only cause I was early....lol. As we were leaving I heard them announce over the system that all non-essential personnel were released to leave and go home.....lol. Anyway...baby's heart beat is 155...and my bp is still going up a little. Last time it was 128/76...this time it was 132/83. The dr is making note of my normal non-pregnant BP and is watching carefully though. She said it may be a bed rest pregnancy again since I basically have four months to go still.

Jenny-Fair -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/3/2008 3:28:53 PM)

Who is nonessential at a hospital?! LOL

RepentanceIsRequired -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/3/2008 7:54:30 PM)

With my first I was pretty quiet with the no noise pushing. With my second she came so fast all I said was "Jesus" over and over, and as soon as she was born, it was "Thank you Jesus". [:D]

Jae -- Still praying for you! [:D]

Emily -- I will chime in with the rest of them. Stay hydrated!!

I have my next apt tomorrow. Then it will be weekly for me. (side note, sicky kids here! blech [:'(])

This lurker is jumping off the sidelines to announce:

I'M PREGNANT! [:)]

I'm due October 4th, so please add me to the list. I followed this thread when I was pregnant with my 18 month old (Ruby) and occasionally popped in to ask an embarassing question or two.

But this pregnancy, I'm not working outside of the home so I hope to be more active on here. I love hearing about everyone else's pregnancies and feel like I know some of you guys just from lurking.

My biggest concern with this pregnancy is that I really really want to have a VBAC and it seems hard to find a Dr. that is willing to do one. Also, that we are planning on moving from Chicago to Kansas City this summer which would be difficult even if I weren't 6 or 7 months preggo.
Other than that, I'm pretty pumped to be adding on to our family!

Royal.Fortress -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/3/2008 7:57:57 PM)

Kim, aren't you planning to have a home birth? Do you still need to pre-register if you plan to have the baby at home? How do you pre-register at a hospital?

They like you to pre-register because then if you need to transfer in you don't have to fill out all the paper work. I would do it for that reason alone - if you don't go in, no harm done, but if you do, it saves a lot of hassle! I don't know how it works in the States, though.

(((Dance))) I'm sorry you're feeling poorly!! I don't need to reiterate what everyone else has said [;)]

(((Sarah))) I hope your BP stays down!!!

Ladies, I'm so blessed! Brad's family threw me and one of his (due six weeks before me) a surprise cash shower yesterday!!! It was wonderful =)

(Oh, and check out my blog for a full-length profile of my six months belly!)

Congrats, KelBel!!!!! Welcome to the thread!

Jenny-Fair -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/3/2008 7:58:32 PM)

Congrats, Kelbel!

I had a VBAC, but I'm afraid I don't have any doctor-hunting advice (we homebirthed) except a CNM might be more prone to 'let' you, maybe.

Yay Kelbel!!! Congratulations!

We were pregnant at the same time with our 1st babies. You had Ruby the day before I had Hannah on Aug. 12th [:D] I still remember that, lol!

That's kind of cool that we'll be having our 2nd close together again! [:)]

3cappuccinosmom -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/3/2008 9:32:17 PM)

Congrats Kelbel!

I'm no good at geography, but you should look to see how close you are to Ina May Gaskin and the Farm in Tennessee. Or ask them if they can refer you to someone who will do VBAC with you.

What kind of incision did you have with your Caesarean?

I pushed over 3 hours with Noah, 20 minutes with Hannah, less than 15 with Levi. I'm going for 10 with this one.[8D]

Sounds pretty similar to me. 2 hours with Emma, 20 minutes with Sophia, less than 15 with Olivia. I was going for 10 with Jacob too, but that didn't turn out so well. [8D][&:][>:] Hopefully it will for you though![:D]

Flintejae -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/4/2008 12:27:39 AM)

I think you should change it from the 9th to the 10th. I'm told some could be in labor over 24 hours and I don't want to go into labor until 5pm on Saturday the 8th. LOL!

Congrats Kebel!!!!!!

Manda - I'll have jason take a picture of it! :)

I was in bed ALL day and now I wonder how I'm going to sleep. lol I feel sick of Alias right now even though it's in the greatest season - Season 2. I refuse to complain and be bored. I am BLESSED to be paid while laying in bed. I am blessed that my son is growing stronger every day in my very own body. I am blessed to have things in order and I'm thankful that the Lord is honoring the desires of my heart and waiting until saturday at 5pm to wait for the full labor contractions to hit. lol :) (And if He doesn't, that's fine too :) )

What else am I blessed with?

The ability to walk
The ability to feel pain
The ability to love, breath, get sick to my stomach when jason does something disgusting (like he is now with the pickle juice, lol)
I am blessed with friends and family
A Godly Husband
Dinners provided for us
A healthy son
A nice apartment with all bills paid
No more trash tv that is addictive
A dog that's great company
A good healthy pregnancy!

Oh, and a husband who just told me he's game for snuggle time if I need/want it. That's my signal to go lay back down! lol

Love you all :)

(P.S. I've hit a place where I HAVE to sleep on my left side. I am too uncomfortable and in pain if I sleep ANY other way. So, it is true, you will be on your left side in the last month of your pregnancy. FYI. :) )

nicole6598 -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/4/2008 4:45:34 AM)

You SHOULD be on your left side Jae its best for you and baby all round whatever condition you are in.
LOL You are so funny with this due date thing[:D]

I was in labour for 72 hours with both of mine - so how about we change yours to the 12th, just to make sure?! [;)]

dance4joy -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/4/2008 8:13:32 AM)

My baby shower yesterday was wonderful! :) I had such a great time, and I got a lot of really nice gifts. . .clothes, blankets, adorable little booties and head bands, a baby bath, a Diaper Genie with TWO refill cartridges, bottles, bibs, nursing pads. . .and a bunch of other stuff that I can't even remember right now. The cake was so cute! It was made to look like a stack of books with baby related titles, and it was surrounded by tiny square cakes decorated to look like blocks. And one of my co-workers made me a diaper cake just covered with little miscellaneous items. . .socks, binkies, a baby brush, wash cloths, etc. I'll have to send pictures as soon as I get them all downloaded.

And best of all I get to do it all again next Saturday because my mother-in-law is throwing me a shower on the 15th. [:D] I feel so spoiled.

kelbel0066 -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/4/2008 8:52:03 AM)

Joyful - I totally remember you too. Congrats on your 2nd! when are you due? Are you doing anything special to prepare Hannah? I'm debating about when to move Ruby to a big girl bed??

I had a horizontal incision with my c-section. Its the "right" kind for having a VBAC. I'm open to having a CNM for sure, but I would definitely still want to give birth in the hospital - my husband wouldn't be open to any other alternative.

Question for you natural birth experts: How long can you go after your water breaks until you have the baby?
I ask this because my husband's cousin had a homebirth - her water broke, but she didnt go into labor for 3 days. She and her baby ended up being rushed to the hospital with massive infections. Because of this experience, my husband is very leary of midwives.
In my case, my water broke and so the Dr. induced me[:'(] - I never dialated further than 2 cm and ended up with an "emergency" C-section due to baby's low heart rate. My dr said she couldn't let me go much longer than 24 hours between having my water break and giving birth (despite the fact that I was on IV antibiotics[8|]) Maybe there is no hard and fast rule?

Dance4joy- Enjoy those baby showers!

I don't know if it is a hard and fast rule, but my Dr. said the same thing. My water broke at 36 weeks with my first baby. Because I did not progress on my own, they induced with a pitocin drip. My daughter was born 14 hours later healthy with no complications.

Flintejae -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/4/2008 9:02:20 AM)

Dance - That's WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you!!!

Manda - You made me laugh out loud when I read that. Jason heard me in the other room and asked what was so funny. Lord, let it not be so - 72 hours is a LONG time. Amen. [;)]

On the date thing: Whatever... I know that he'll be born in March; I just have no idea When in March. It could be today, tomorrow, this weekend, next week, or the week after. I hope, for his sake, it's later vs. sooner.

Question/Comment:

I am wondering if I am the only pregnant woman to experience this MIRACULOUS healing of WARTS. Seriously. I had them bad on my knee and feet. I couldn't get rid of them no matter what I did. I even saw a surgeon shortly before I got pregnant to see if they could help me get rid of them once and for all. The one on my knee had been there YEARS and was cultivating lots of little ones. My feet - ugh. Plantar warts seemed to love my feet. I had a total of three that just bugged me and embarrased me.

Anyways, I noticed on my knee that they were GONE for several months now. I mean just GONE. (Jason literally touches that part in awe to this day because he knows the struggle I had.) Then, the other night when Jason was rubbing my feet he made the comment of, "Wow, Janine, your feet are so smooth" and it DAWNED on us that the plantar warts on my feet were gone too! We literally flipped out, turned on the light and could find NO SCAR or mark where they had once been. It was a shock!

I asked my doctor about it and he said that has been known to happen in pregnant women. He said that, even after birth, they normally never return.

It's so exciting to have smooth skin again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another thing to add onto my blessing plate with this wonderful pregnancy I've had.

dance4joy -> RE: '08 Pregnancy Chat/Support (cont'd) (3/4/2008 9:08:11 AM)

That's great Janine! Hooray for smooth skin! [:D]

I've been enjoying how nice and strong my nails are! Hope that lasts for a while.
