My husband's work told him they want to have a shower for me. I have never heard of anything like that before. I have never met anyone he works with, and it seems (from what Chris has told me) that is is mostly older guys and a few women. Has anyone heard of something like that before?

Emily, my hubby's job did something special for us, but I wouldn't call it a shower. His boss called me and asked me if I would come down to the office because they were presenting hubby with some type of award. So I get down there they rush me into the conference room and then everyone comes in including hubby who is surprised to see me there. Then his boss proceeds to tell us that it was just a special get together for us and they had cookies, ice cream, and gave us a money tree. Since it was around Christmas time when they did it, they got a mini Christmas tree and hot glued ornament hooks onto $1 coins and hung them like ornaments. It was so cute and thoughtful. Everyone gave as much as they wanted and we were blessed with $75 for Hunter which we are going to go and open a savings account for him with. What can I say a year later and we still haven't done it, but those are the plans.

So if ya really want someone below ya....pray for some of us in the TTC/struggling thread!! We'd be delighted to come join y'all Waaayy ahead of ya sister! I spent many a day in TTC, so ya'll are never far from my heart. Thanks, Erin. I figured you were...just wasn't for sure. Sometimes it is easy to think one has been "forgotten" in the TTC world. (Hope that doesn't sound too terrible as that isn't how I meant it!) I haven't read all of your posts...so...forgive me if this has been asked...but how are you feeling? Any morning sickness? Tired? Ready to redecorate your bathroom yet?

Kelbel - I'm due on the 10th, so just a few days behind you I've always heard 24 hours too. There is some theorizing that one can go longer though if they don't have a lot of internal checks, especially after the water breaks. The longest my midwife likes to wait is 24 hours before doing a transfer to the hospital, and that is with very minimal internal exams. EmilyAnn - my husband's work had a shower for us with baby #1. He was a teacher at a private school at the time, and all of the kids in the upper school threw a surprise shower along with the other teachers.
