Hi, everybody!

Barb, I'm sorry -- I forgot to PM you last night (I did send one just now). I sometimes get that "You can't post two consecutive messages...." error message when I try to answer one PM from one person and then send a second PM to another...I'm trying to work on mentally not being so antsy and to WAIT LONGER in between sending them so the second one goes through.

But it said it did so hopefully you'll get it?

For those that are wanting a pregnancy update, I still am pregnant. Overdue, having promodomal labor (if that's the right spelling of it), but doing well, not crabby, not miserable. Have gotten some pretty good sleep! I'm sure we'll have a little one soon enough, in God's timing. Thank you all for praying -- we do covet those prayers!

Jeanie

Nicole,
I TRYED reading our new policy. It went right over my head
Altho I am being more responsible in calling ahead of time to see if a procedure is covered. My mamogram was suppose to be covered 100%. But after 3 months I got a bill. I called my ins. company to see what happened. After about a half an hour purshing this number, and that number, and being put on hold. I FINALLY got to talk to a real person!
They assured me the check is being sent out soon to the hospital. Same thing happened when I got my cholonosopy (sp?) I don't know if they paid that or not. Altho they said they would cover it 100%. Guess I should call the hospital and see if they ever got their check.
See, my last insurance company never had me do all this checking.

Oh yes, I understand what you are saying. I have stepped up to bat for many people because of the way a procedure was coded. For instance like you mentioned with the mammo or the colonoscopy, an insurance will pay differently if it is coded by the hospital as a screening or a diagnostic. With most plans they will pay once a year for a screening as part of your annual exam. Diagnostic however is when the patient has had a procedure and "something" was found and thus warranted something more invasive like a colonoscopy vs sigmoidoscopy. But then where we (more like I in battling with the ins) have issues is when I would call up the UR nurse to tell me how it was coded she would say that per the drs notes it was coded as a diagnostic not a screening, well that is how we have to code it. Then on the flip side we have the patient hollering that no, it was a screening. Well unfortunately we can't go by what the patient says, once it is written/transcribed by the dr, that's what goes. Thus we have billing issues.

Okay, I don't know if you really wanted to know all that, but there you have it.

Off topic so either read or ignore.

Well, we're moved in. Of course, it looks like tornados have struck, but at least it's all in there. DH is still putting closets together, etc. We should get our bedroom furniture tonight. The twins are excited to have a bunk bed. It gives them much more room to play in when they have their toys out. They're getting a nice, big closet too for all their clothes. I'm hoping I can use some of the space for their toys as well.
Our new building is so nice and quiet. It's a combination of expats and Kuwaitis. Just enough of both to enjoy it.
Friday night when we were unloading the car, DH heard gunfire and a round hit the carport over our heads. He thought it was someone doing target practice but then we heard a lot of automatic fire. It sounded pretty far away so it was just a stray round. I guess the police had their hands full that night or something. Nice to know they do something besides set up roadblocks to check ID's. LOL At least it wasn't coming from our neighborhood.
The guard at our new building warned us that the master bathroom toilet leaks. What an understatement! Sounds like a small waterfall when DH tried flushing it to find the leak. Good thing we have 2 other bathrooms we can use. LOL
Poor Elektra is beside herself. She can't figure out why she's in this strange place with familiar things in really odd places. But she's coping as well as can be expected. Poor puppy.

I just found this thread. Jeanie, I've been wondering why I never see you in CW anymore. Now I know. You spend your time HERE! I'm going to try this out for a while. If it moves too fast I'll have to unsubscribe but I'll give it a go.

When did you announce your pregnancy? And already you're overdue (or maybe given birth)? Wow. Time flies. I hope you're doing well.

Hey, Jeannie! I hope there's a little bundle coming home too. I'm waiting with bad, I mean, baited, breath.

Now ladies... I just started a thread on this in the community folder because I wanted some other opinions but I have to ask you. I think you ladies are all pretty intelligent so I'm hoping you will prove me wrong.

In Canada we have a special called "Talking with Americans" where a comedian goes to the states and popular universities and government buildings and asks Americans questions about Canada. He has them say things like "congratulations Canada on getting your second zip code" and congratulations Canada on moving to the 24 hour clock" I thought it was a joke at first but he has governors and celebrities say things like this, most of them have no idea who our Premier is! Do Americans really know nothing about Canada?

I know we really didn't study much on Canadian history in school. We were required to do state history where we lived...and we did include some Canadian history into our stuff if it was pertinent to the situation we were studying......and we studied world history, European history, etc.....but we never really learned much about the Canadian gov't and how it is set up or anything. Most of what I know (which isn't much) I have learned from being on here over the years.

LOL Chelsea. I wonder this too sometimes. I sometimes think that show is rigged and they just get Americans to say the wrong thing so us Canadians can say "derrrrr you guys er dum". The last one I heard was something about banning the polar bear hunt in Ontario. And a bunch of people signed a paper to ban polar bear hunts.

Pretty much if something sounds retarded to Americans they should automatically know it can't be true in Canada.

Well.....how much do you guys know about America??
But some of those questions are dumb, yeah. But they're probably asking the same people that Jay Leno asks questions on American history who have no clue. How can they know anything about another country when they don't even know America?

By the way Chelsea.... I have had other Canadians think I lived in a winter wonderland most of the year. I don't even know how many Canadians realize that Iceland gets warm and green in the Summer. And Yellowknife is beautiful and not just covered in snow all the time.
