LOL...that's ok, I am too...so is my hubby. In fact when he asked me in a card if I would marry him his words were "Nothing better then bringing two fumbly, fall down, just plain klutzy people together". LOL....ahhhh those sweet words still ring true today!!!!

I am, too. When we were dating, I would tell dh that I was clumsy and he would tell me not to put myself down. I was being as careful as I could while we dated. He thought I had a “self-esteem” problem. After we married and he saw how clumsy I really am, his comment changed to, “can you not be careful?”

Happy Anniversary, Ruth!!!

Thanks ladies! I can always count on you to make me realize I am being silly

Well, my dearest friend offered to take Hunter for a few hours tomorrow. I didn't even ask, she just offered, the sweetie! I have been sick so she said she wanted to give me time to rest or do whatever I need to do. She has two children so he will have company and get a change of scenery, plus her hubby will be off to. Then tomorrow night hubby has a softball game so Hunter will have a packed day tomorrow. Wednesday hubby leaves for an overnight business trip so it will just be me and Hunter for a couple of days. We do have church Wednesday night and I am having play group on Thursday so that will be nice to have company and be around other people for a few hours.

Happy Anniversary Sideways!

There must be a bad accident on the highway this morning. I can hear a chopper hovering--it's been there more than 30 minutes. Probably trying to get some "good" pics. I am so, so glad I don't have to commute!

I need to get the boys up. I want to try to get our schedule bumped up a little so that I can have my midday quiet time back.

Chelle, that's so awesome about your friend! :-)

Pretty quiet day here. My grandparents called yesterday and they are coming over to spend the day, they want to play with the kids. My brother is coming with them. I have lunch in the fridge, and a chocolate pie. So we'll have fun!

That sounds like a great lunch. I hope you hve a relaxing day and a good visit.

Maggie- were you taking a quiet time during a late morning nap? Are you using it for Bible Study/ Prayer or just to recover from the chaos of three boys?

I am mostly going to bum around the house today cleaning here and there and finishing up the laundry that I have let string out over the weekend (yes, I do realize it's Tues!!) I also need to run a quick errand. Dh revealed last night that he is out of deodorant. We've been round and round about him telling me before he doesn't have any so I can make sure he has enough. I don't know why I get so frustrated with him over this... after all, I am not the one having to use a deo that doesn't work on me or smells funny. He gets the consequences, so what's it to me?

today we are going out to the wildlife refuge ....we will hopefully see lots of buffalo (hey, I am happy seeing them, as long as they don't try to push up against my van like they did last time!!!! I swear that one last time would have had enough force to really hurt a small car!!!!)

We have giggled for years because when we visited CO, we stopped at a steak restaurant in SouthPark and the waiter wanted to know if we'd been to the "Elk Refugee Camp?" I don't see the phrase "wildlife refuge" without laughing.

Rachel hope your lunch goes good today with the grandparents!

Well, the plans fell through with my friend taking Hunter for a few hours, but it was not a big deal. I am feeling much better today and he has been in a great mood all day. We ran by Hobby Lobby and Toys R Us, but only bought stuff at Hobby Lobby. They several different scrap booking categories on sale 1/2 off. Now he has just went down for a nap so I am going to clean part of the time and try to scrapbook the other part. Its been a good day!

Chelle it sounds like you guys had a fun day! I love it when scrapbooking stuff goes on sale!!

Nathaniel's days off are over and it sounds like he won't have any more until this job is done... possibly a month from now!

Oh well, it was wonderful to have him home for five days. Mary sure loves her daddy, he carries her around everywhere and she loves that.

I got to go to Starbucks yesterday with my planner and my computer and spend some time by myself planning how I want the next few weeks to go. I worked out a daily schedule and daily/weekly house cleaning schedule and I think it is going to be great! I have been having motivation issues lately so hopefully this will get us back on track!

Oh, Jess we made that iced coffee! YUM!!!!! I think we made four or five batches while Nathaniel was off! Thank you

I didn't mean that to sound like "do you do something worthwhile or just waste that time!" I was just wondering what you were missing. Hobbies, connecting with us , and making useful stuff is important, too. I hope I didn't offend you. Pure curiosity on my part!!

Oh, have fun! Wish I could go! Do your kids like prairie dog town? We like going there. One time when we were camping there, I actually got charged by a buffalo that was standing near the bathrooms! EEK!!

Well, my grandparents just left, and they took Isaac with them. He LOVES his great-grandparents. He started trying to get in their car long before they ever even thought about leaving, LOL! My mom is coming up here on Saturday anyway, so she's just going to bring him back then. As he was leaving he kissed me and then pushed me away saying "OK, mom, you can stay here. I love you, BYE". LOL!! I'll miss the little stinker! He even came in and checked his bags to make sure they had everything he thought they should. So it's just Isabel and I now, and she's napping! It's so quiet!

I stepped on a rusty old nail out in the pasture near the old barn that hubby is tearing down. Stupid me was wearing flip flops out there. It pierced my foot pretty good, so I had to run down and get a tetanus shot, I haven't had one in probably 14 yrs. Now my foot is killing me.

SHEESH!!!!! We had fun though....closest a buffalo came today was just crossing the road right in front of us...and it was a relatively small one (relatively.....meaning it was still bigger then the longhorn cattle, but smaller then some I have seen out there!!). Today we found a new place we had not seen before.....the "Holy City"...so we walked around there for a while and just relaxed for a bit. We forgot the stroller at home, so after that we just came home...Jack was tired and falling asleep and is getting too hard to carry all the time without something to put him in (stroller or backpack or carrier or something)

OUCH...hope your foot feels better soon!!!

Sarah,

You are making me home-sick! Do they still do the annual Easter Pageant at the Holy City?

I got chased by a buffalo once up near Doris something or other picnic area. All my teenage friends were in the parking lot, and i had left to go an a walk. I came over the top of a hill and suddenly I was right near a herd of buffalo.

I backed up slowly, but the scout buffalo walked toward me. I kept walking backwards until we got near the parking lot, where all my friends were. Then I turned and ran until people could see me, when I slowed down and sauntered non-chalantly like nothing was going on.

The buffalo followed shortly. We jumped in our car ASAP. My friends asked if the buffalo was chasing me, but I denied it repeatedly.

Teenagers. I have no idea why I thought it too embarrassing to admit. I guess because I grew up in OK and I sure knew better than to walk up on a herd of buffalo. But it's not like I did it on pupose, KWIM?

I have never seen a buffalo outside of a zoo. That would terrify me and I would probably pee my pants in fright. Dairy cows, I can handle. Buffalo??!! No way!

LOL...it terrified my mom the first time we saw them up there....I have seen them before in the Smoky Mountains....but my mom wasn't with us when we did. Last time though (my birthday when she was visiting here we went to the refuge) there was a whole line of cars parked watching a few wander the road...and one HUGE one (seriously bigger then my van!!!) crossed in between my moms car (Paul was driving) and the van (I was following him). Then it ate some grass....she could have reached out and touched it if she would have put the window down....then it stopped and headed back across the street going behind the van. You know how when you go through a car wash you can feel the pressure on the vehicle, well, that's about what it felt like when the buffalo went by because the person behind me was pretty close and it was a tight squeeze to get through!!! It was bumping around the van.....freaky!!!!

I saw buffalo when I was in Cuba!!!!

We went on the jeep safari and they were trying to convince us that zebra, antelope and buffalo are all native to Cuba. Uh huh.

I put some pics of dolphins that are in our marina at our town and Nicole (CAN) freaked out that we are so close to the beach. It seems foreign to me that some people havent seen the beach or been there, most of Australia is situated on the coast. Anyway, the buffalo thing got me thinking of that...

How do you help your children get used to other kids meanness? Grace's friends all have older siblings or some go to child care and lately when they play I can hear them being mean to her like "don't touch that doll, it doesn't like you". "go away, we don't want you to play here with us" or close the door on her face and things. Grace just dissolves into tears. I just want to bop the child that hurts mine

Nicole, used to see some neat wildlife when we live on the Chesapeake Bay. Micah's parents have LOTS of pictures of dolphins and stuff from when they lived in Florida and we saw some when we were there almost 2 years ago. They swam right up in the mix at the beach, it was really neat.

As for Grace, we were taught to defend ourselves and say "please don't speak to me like that" but most of the time it came out like "Don't talk to ME like THAT!". I'm not sure if it's what would be recommended by the majority here though...
