. I have put orajel on his gums and I am thinking some infant motrin might help too. know you are not asking but I know of something that worked wonders for my kid when he was teething... they are disolvable tablets. They are herbal and you get them from any chemist (CVS/Walgreens)... you put a tiny tablet in their mouth and it disappears almost instantly... and it seemed to help my little guy heaps....(am sorry I can't remember the name but they are near all the other baby stuff) ok.. now back to the original topic! Hyland's Teething Tablets. Sometimes they work pretty good. You can give them like 4 an hour or something like that.

Thanks, Sideways! Yeah, I don't even attempt the dishwasher anymore while Hunter is not either in his crib or highchair. It ends up being more work than it should so I wait or if Daddy is home I do it then too. We bought the teething tablets and they did absolutely nothing for Hunter. Most of the time Orajel works, but sometimes it takes combo of medicine (either motrin or tylenol) and Orajel for him to get relief. It's been nice having this thread and having you ladies encourage me because its been a long three days now. Thanks!

Good idea, I will try that tonight with him. I know he likes to stand at the dryer while I either take clothes out or put them in. He just likes to push the button that makes the light go on and off, but he will let me stand there and fold clothes. That is one chore that is becoming a favorite of mine because he does stay in one spot while I accomplish something.

lol Chelsea, life with a mobile baby is exciting, isn't it. Biruk is such a goober. He will actually look over his shoulder to see if I'm watching, when he's heading towards something he knows is off limits. If I am watching, he will stop, sit a minute, and then creep closer, looking back to see what I'm going to do about it. Today was a good example of why I'm glad I'm SAHM. Josiah had the day off, so we went to get our taxes done (the guy kept saying "Wow, you guys, you're complicated. This is a real brain-breaker!" ). We were able to go out really early, and stop at a wonderful bakery, and Asrat kept gushing "Oh, this is so fun! This is great family time! I love family time!". We were able to tag-team with the kids, taking turns sitting with the tax guy, and then we got home before 10am, still had time for homeschool and lunch and Josiah still has the whole afternoon for working on his projects. It was so nice to be so completely relaxed and not worry about where we each needed to be next, 'cause we knew we could head home anytime we wanted to.

Chelle do you use baby oragel? I have been thinking that oragel might help Mary but it tastes so awful I don't know if I could get her to open her mouth and let me apply it. Yes, I use baby orajel. We were using the one that comes in a bottle and it smelled horrible. We found that they also make it in a tube and that smells good. I haven't tasted it, but I do know that it smells alot better than the bottle version. For some reason it comes out more gel like too in the tube, its way better.

Chelle, Have you tried ice or popcicles? Do you have one of those little baby food bags things? LIKE THIS ? I used to put ice or frozen fruit in it and it numbed the gums.

No I haven't tried either of those. I do have frozen blueberry waffles I can let him gum or freeze a washcloth.

My sil cuts up grapes and freezes them as teething treats/soothers. I just finished planting seeds for an outdoor garden. My thumb should be called "The Grimm Reaper," so we'll see how it goes. I've never grown a garden before.

I love those mesh baby feeders. It is such a cool concept, but Jimmy doesn't really like them. I'll give it to him, and chew on it for a second a nd make a face then throw it somewhere. I'll hand it to Timmy though, and he enjoys it. I put a dill pickle in there once because I heard vinegar can help a teething baby. You shoulda seen the look on Jimmy's face. He almost looked mad at me for giving it to him.

So I hired a personal trainer and went for the first time this morning. Hmmmm.... this isn't really what I expected with the whole start-going-to-a-personal-trainer-thing. ; Anyway, about 40 minutes into things, I started having nausea, chest pains, turned really pale, got really clammy, and broke into a cold sweat. (And my blood sugar was fine.... I tested. Drat.) Soooooo..... to make a long story short, I ended up getting an EKG with my doctor informing me I was having irregular heartbeats and can't do ANYTHING more physical than walking until next week (Tuesday) -- which is the earliest he could schedule me for a cardiac stress treadmill test without admitting me to the hospital. That means no treadmill at home, no riding my bike around the neighborhood, no hand weights, and no recumbant bike .... and to head straight for the Emergency Room if the symptoms return. (This is my primary care physician, by the way, who did say that I looked fabulous with my weight loss.) (sigh) This isn't going as I planned. :( Prayers, please.

Praying, Harvie. Was your workout more strenuous than what you've been doing on your own? Maybe just a bit too much too soon? I am so proud of you for your weight loss, BTW!
