I actually dislike the name Zippy. I can't think of Zipporah without thinking of her throwing a bloody foreskin around, and the name Zippy doesn't sound like a real name. I hope something else wins.

and this is negative how?

She was a woman with a 'Tude...and the guts to do what needed to be done.

I agree. Right up there with Jael, whose name I also love.

OK, remember Zippy has one more vote than it says because I voted Cassandra right in the middle of when Sarah was changing the poll.

Not necessarily negative, just that I always think of that story when I think of Zipporah, and to always associate HisCovenant with circumcision just seems a little strange. It doesn't fit her.

circumcision is a part of the Abrahamic covenant (I think) so it would be kind of appropriate to associate that with some named HisCovenant.

Hey, you can vote for it if you like. I'm going to vote for Cordelia in the final poll, though.

Besides, I'd rather be part of the New Covenant than the Old.

I wasn't saying that you should vote for Zippy, I was just responding to this:

I was pointing out that it wasn't strange and that it is fitting.

It is a little hard to touch you from here. Quit being such a drama queen.

Please excuse her folks... y'all know how immature younger sisters can be, especially when they are WRONG or don't get their own way.

Who is redoing the poll this morning?

I like Zipporah better than Zippy too. Zippy sounds like something you'd name a hyperactive dog.

Zippy sounds fun and playful.

Zipporah sounds intelligent and insightful.

I voted Cordelia simply because I love the Anne of Green Gables series...all of the books! I love Zipporah (although I prefer the tradtinal spelling of tzipporah better...lol)....also...Cordelia was the best daughter of King Lear in Shakespeare's play as well....

Aww, I didn't know it was spelled like that. My KJV just has a Z with no T.

You know what's weird though....Moe and the Big Exit (Veggie Tales), Moe's wife is Sally, and her buffalo's name is Zippy. Kinda weird.

I voted Zippy because I liked it.

Going off topic for a second...

The woman who refused to stoop to flattery. That would be a good name for the poster formerly known as HisCovenant. But, I don't like the way "Cordelia" sounds, so I went with "Zipporah." I like the "Tzipporah" spelling better, though.
