Oh yes, thank you for the pizza recipe Fun Betty..to me it does makes sense pizza roll for the dough ..I will look for this particular brand one.

And people were do you buy your wholewheat dough? I tried Harrys (wholefood store here) but they dont have it...I hear about Trade Joe having a good one?

Trader Joes is very good when it is fresh. I have had it kinda sticky and had to work with it a bit (added a bit of whole wheat pastry flour) to get it the right consistancy. The packaging is very plain it just comes in a bag with a twist tie. It tastes better than it looks.

mmmm..thanks Nadine, going to find out where the Trader Joe is near by...I crave veggie wholewheat calzone.

The key is finding the Pillsbury Hot Roll Mix. Don't give me that look...it makes for a great crust. The ONLY grocery store I have found it in is Walmart.
I'll give ya that look cos travelling over 2,000 miles to go shopping in walmart to get some roll mix sounds a little extreme

It does sound good though!

Well..I dont eat bananas when its gets the starting of black dots on it...ewwww When its yellow its good for me.

The weather is hot 73 here and lets have something refreshing, shall we or shall we not? LOL mmmmm...

" Creme de Papaya

This is a popular dessert in Brazil. No wonder, because it's one of most delicious and quick-to-prepare summer desserts ever invented. It must be made and served right away. You"ll need a blender to prepare the cream. This recipe serves one.

1 ripe papaya

1 scoop vanilla ice-cream

1 tbsp. Creme de Cassis

1 sprig of mint for decoration

Peel papaya and remove seeds. Cut in small pieces. Put in blender with ice-cream and Creme de Cassis. Blend well until smooth. Pour into a small bowl and decorate with mint. The mix of flavors and colors (orange papaya and purple liqueur) is wonderful! If you don't want it to be alcoholic, use cassis syrup instead. You can reduce the calories by using Light ice-cream."

You are welcome!

YUMMY! I'm going to make that!

Steve, if you're making that then I'm coming over!!

I'm on my way with my spoon!

Is it too late for me to come as well? I want some, too!

Ok, I guess I'm having a Creme de Papaya party and y'all are invited! I'll even put a little maple syrup in it for you, Shema.

Fine. I'm not bringing my black bean pizza then.

I ran across this during a visit to del.icio.us, though I can't remember whether I saw it there or somewhere I went from there.
Anyway, it's a recipe for butterscotch. Enjoy: Sweet Stuff

Now that sounds good!

I'm trying to reorganise (or rather organise) my kitchen cupboards. I've got started but it's not easy and I have a horrible amount of grocery stuff to eat up (mostly tinned of some sort). I think I need to throw a party so that I can get rid of some of it!

I have a collection of beans, lentils, and fruit (in juice, not syrup)... and flours and goodness knows what else . There's no real 'junk' though which I suppose is a good thing.

Yes... and because I don't really know what's going on in there, I just buy more when I need it!

I have all the contents of the cupboards written down though and am crossing things off as I use them ~ and I even know which cupboard to look in to find something

I can't wait until it's reduced to a manageable amount though. Maybe by the end of this year

I made Pasta Primavera for 11 friends the other night...apparently it went over well because there was nothing left! (And don't ask for a recipe because I made it up as I went along...lol)

We had 2 extra visitors that were coming late (we found out after wehad finished the meal), and we wanted them to come (they were the original guests of honor that I didn't confirm for them to show up), so I told them we had plenty of food. I then set the timer to 40 minutes (expected time of arrival) and gave my chef-as-hobby friend control of the kitchen. He whipped up another meal in 40 minutes! It was great...just like a reality show.

Do you have a recipe for enchilada sauce or do you use a can? Oh, and green or red sauce?

keep in mind she had classified this as an easy receipe (which works for me :)
basically i mixed together cream of chicken soup, sour cream, shredded cheese, diced green chilis, chicken and then spooned into burrito shells which were rolled (not folded). i spooned leftover sauce on top. i have a couple ideas for next time for the sauce but overall it tasted good, i love mexican food. if you'd like the full recipe, feel free to pm me and i can copy and paste it when i get home.

Thanks! Sounds really good. My kids aren't overly fond of the canned sauces. This sounds like something they may like.

Does anyone make their own pasta? I bought a pasta machine at the beginning of the year and love it...

Well I made the dough in my processor and then let it chill for a while (as you're supposed to!) and then put it through the machine ~ which I guess is a bit time consuming because you have to do it lots of times (but then if you're peeling potatoes that takes time too ).

I used a weird flour called kamut which is an ancient wheat. I bought the pasta machine because it was on offer and then they gave me money off because it had some damage to it (and it was the second machine I'd bought from them) and it all worked out cheaper than buying a packet of the pasta ready-made!

It's kinda like bread-making ~ takes a bit of time but is incredibly satisfying...

I do make my own mint tea.

I've never made pasta, but I do make my own pizza dough/crust. It sounds like a similarly rewarding process.

Tonight I ate a porkchop, some German fried potatoes, and a spinach salad. Amazingly, the portion sizes were perfect, so I won't waste any food. That's a huge feat as I usually cook enough for a fleet.
