I think the one you have now looks sweet. But I like the ones when we were younger too. I've used anywhere from 3 to my wedding pic, to one from a few years ago.

Thanks about sweet comment and information. The most offensive one, (LOL) is the snap shots they take at VBS, which yes I do arts and crafts every year, but they always get my rear-end, I am begging to feel parinod, when they do the big screen presentation in front of congergation, and my rear is there every year big and wide.

I have to confess, I have a preference for pictures of the real person, just because there is so much anonymity and falseness on the net. As a Christian I try to keep it as real as possible. Other avatars don't offend me, but a real picture just seems to make the person more real to me. But then again I am a typical male and my perceptions of reality are strongly influenced by what I see with my peepers, so I am inclined to believe that some of you are really kitties and angels.

By way of confession, my picture is a few years old (8, 9?) - but it's a great picture of my wife and I together, so I like to look at it. The only way I can look at us together otherwise is to make her stand in front of a mirror with me, and she hates it when I do that; especially if I make goofy faces.

One of these days I am going to have to post all the little hudlings.

A few pictures out there do disturb me; interestingly, they seem to be associated with people that disturb me as well.

I always thought that was a picture of you with your daughter. or, else your daughter with her creepy boyfriend. Thanks for clearing that up.

Yes, pictures can be deceptive; it would be difficult to understand why such a lovely lady would hang out with such a homely guy - but that's only if you didn't realize she was attracted by his incredible intellect and magnetic personality, which is hard to discern from such a wee picture.

Apparently. The mods knew what they were doing in making the avatars so small.

I hate how small the avatars are. Almost all of my favorite pictures are too big to use and once I shrink them down to an acceptable size you can't really tell what they're supposed to be.

Actually, compared to another forum I've looked at (actually, the only other one), these are pretty big.

Jhud, are you any relation to Jon Baker, the actor? I've always wanted to ask you that. There's such a strong resemblance!

Well, I have to admit I have never heard of Jon Baker, so I will reserve my thanks until I see who he is.

Oddly, I seem to have an actor face or something, because I have been told (I kid you not) that I look like:

Mel Gibson
Kurt Russel
Dan Akroyd
Jay Leno

Obviously I favor the top of the list, but the bottom seems more likely.

The blond on CHiPS (can't remember his name).

Edited: Oops, sorry, the character name was Jon Baker, the actor's name is Larry Wilcox.

That's either an old photo or you are still in your youth.

It is an old photo, but not that old; five or six years? I'm 44.

Avatars tell me a lot about a person's personality. None of the avatars on the board have offended me yet.
