I'd almost have to say as far as the Christian music industry is concerned that D.C. Talk "Jesus Freak" was a very important song in the history of CCM. Otherwise, my personal fav's range from Petra "Not of this World" to maybe Stryper "Soldiers Under Command" "Yellow and Black Attack" (I didn't care as much for "To Hell With the Devil") Guardian's "Fire and Love" and "Miracle Mile" albums were pretty good for that era.

Love 2nd Chapter of Acts, but they don't really fit the "rock" category very well. Okay, leave out the Easter Song, but have you heard the others I listed? That live version of "Hey, Whatcha Say" has Phil Keaggy playing some of the most scorching lead guitar licks I've ever heard. And I've heard most of them over my 50 years. And the Hymns cd's were considered revolutionary because they were arranged and played in a style nobody had ever done before, with electric guitars, synthesizers, and rock beats. Keep in mind the years they were done were the very beginning of "Jesus rock". Casper22, do us a favor and use some punctuation. Then your post might actually be readable.

ORIGINAL: rlj Honourable mention goes to Deliverance and Vengeance Rising when they somehow performed and got recorded the old worship chorus "Holy Holy Holy". ; ) Ohhh, I really NEED to hear that one. Must be pretty sweet.

Lust Control - Planned Parenthood Bloodgood - Let My People Go, Live Wire, Battle Of The Flesh Keith Green - No One Believes In Me Anymore Barnabas - Stormclouds, Never Felt Better Whitecross - Resist Him Jerusalem - Rebels Of Jesus Christ Stryper - Makes Me Wanna Sing and there is a hard to find CD called Metal Praise that has the most amazing heavy version of Jehovah Jireh on it with vocals by Les Carlsen (Bloodgood) as well as really awesome rocked-out (yet true to the original melody) takes on Rock of Ages and What A Friend We Have In Jesus. Not sure of the vocalist on those two tracks, and actually that whole CD is excellent.
