I can't change the order of posts. I guess I could delete a misplaced post but then they'd have to repost anyway.

Karaboo2 -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/21/2008 6:19:01 PM)

As for the denim jumpers -- I have several, but they don't currently fit over my pregnant belly!!! [:(] They are quite comfy too!!

Mine are 6 (7 next Sunday) 5, 2, 1, and baby due in August.

Do you think we should issue a slight forewarning to the forums on the 31st?????????

Jenny-Fair -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/21/2008 6:20:36 PM)

This thread is all the warning they are gonna get, lol.

The plan to take over the world begins.

This is the place for discussing the particulars. Any idea? If you aren't a homeschooler, please do not read this message, as it will cause you to self-destruct. Thank you.

Cool!! I'll take over the world. But I'm not for sure what to do with it. mmm . . . any ideas?

Ooh, ooh can I help? If you want the language things I can translate into Arabic. (it'd have to be phonetically so everyone could read it though)

And I have a denim jumper, great for wearing while pregnant. (not that I am at the moment)

Sunnymom -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/21/2008 7:40:27 PM)

As you can see, I already have my sig line. [;)] It was inspired by a post which seemed to imply that home educators will recommend homeschooling as the answer to any parenting question you might have, any character flaw your child could possibly possess, as well as cure bad breath, measles, and nose-picking.

OK- so I am exaggerating. Tell the NEA. See if I care.

I have denim skirts, but no jumpers. However, I do have cute white tennis shoes I wear with little white socks. No pom-poms though- I do have some standards. White tennis shoes are a must for every homeschooling mom's wardrobe.

I think the reason that we strike fear into folks is that we don't ask if we can go to the bathroom, or get a drink. We don't raise our hands before we speak or wait for a bell to ring.

WE ARE ANARCHISTS! Muwhahahahahah![sm=purplelaugh.gif]

LOL..me either zoe....well, I do, but it fit four kids ago.....lol.

HERE you go...I am pretty sure this is a close picture to what everyone in this thread looks like, right!!!!

No, we have to make up our OWN language, then make everyone else learn it. If anyone disagrees, then we feed them to the alligators.

I know [sm=funny.gif](if it still fits) I could don my jumper, have my toddler on one hip, my dh's pistol on the other hip while holding a stack of books (Bible on top). Watcha think? [sm=farmersmile.gif]

Consecrated2God -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/22/2008 7:11:45 AM)

Alisha, LOL! Be careful--someone might call Family Services if you have a gun and a toddler at the same time!

(Btw, I deleted a post back there. I just want to make it clear that this is all in fun--I'd hate for someone to needlessly be offended. I love public school teachers and think they are doing a great thing.)

Marcus. -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/22/2008 10:48:39 AM)

You need a mascot or two for this quest.

hmm Take over the world and education united together.

What would be appropriate.

AWN

Consecrated2God -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/22/2008 11:02:17 AM)

Cute, Marcus. Only they need denim jumpers.

That's funny, 'cause I saw Manda suggest homeschooling in the PS folder!

Perhaps we have her brainwashed?

cynthia -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/22/2008 12:01:13 PM)

I think it would be hard to brainwash Manda. lol She's a pretty steady gal and would have to convinced, not brainwashed! giggle However, if Manda is convinced that it can work, maybe we really can take over the world! Mu hahahaha

shadowspring -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/22/2008 7:52:52 PM)

If we are splitting up a quote, how about some outrageous one of John Gotti's?

I bet Sunnymom has one somewhere....[;)]

shadowspring -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/22/2008 7:58:31 PM)

alishamommyof5,

My favorite sculpture is of a pioneer woman with a rifle in one hand and a baby on the breast in the other! [:D]

It was a commissioned for a contest in Oklahoma in the early 1900s. The bare breast was too scandalous though. The sculpture chosen was of a pioneer woman taking her child to school, complete with books in one of the belt-like book holder things they used to carry books back in the day.

You can see all the entries on display at the Woolaroc museum in Bartlesville, OK. I think the chosen piece is in a town square in Ramona, OK.

So, no wonder I home school! It was the subversive pioneer woman sculptures I was exposed to in that museum! [sm=eek.gif] Maybe we should see if linking to the museum would help brainwash the others?

Why don't you find one and post it so we can see if it would work?

Those sound really cool! I tried to find them but they don't have pictures on the web. :-( I found lots of pictures of the Mom walking with her son.

shadowspring -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/23/2008 6:29:28 PM)

I e-mailed the museum and asked if they could put up a link. If not, maybe they'll e-mail me a digital image that I can share? I hope.

Searching for outrageous quotes now.

shadowspring -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/23/2008 6:37:57 PM)

ROFLOL! I posted John Gotti when I meant John Gotto.

HERE

I have all the shades down, and I'm pretty nervous about a phone call I just received. They kept asking for a "Jacob"...

but there's no Jacob here!

I think the Gotti family might be upset about the mix-up.

A less cautious person might say it was just a wrong number, but right after I posted the Gotti name?!?!?

I'm unplugging the phone just in case.....

shadowspring -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/23/2008 6:43:46 PM)

quote:

And in Germany, in Prussia precisely, in the early part of the 19th century, it was mathematically determined by high-level debate that only one kid out of every 200 should be allowed to think that way. Another ten or eleven should be allowed to learn partially to think that way. Those people would end up being the doctors, the lawyers, the college professors, the architects, and they would be the servants of the people trained in leadership thinking.
-from above link

So you see, home schooled kids are being trained to be the .05% that rules the world! What do you think? [;)]

cynthia -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/23/2008 7:36:35 PM)

It's not John Gotto either. It's John Gatto or more commonly John Taylor Gatto. I was wondering why you wanted to quote mobsters and am quite happy to know that you aren't. [8|]

alishamommyof5 -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/23/2008 9:58:55 PM)

Here is a good quote.
“The main hope of a nation lies in the proper education of its youth.” ~Desiderius Erasmus
A proper education would of course be homeschooling![;)]

alishamommyof5 -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/23/2008 10:06:08 PM)

[:)] Oh my goodnes! I love quotes!
Here is a couple more.
“The philosophy of the schoolroom in one generation is the philosophy of government in the next.” ~Abraham Lincoln

“To repeat what others have said, requires education; to challenge it, requires brains.” ~Mary Pettibone Poole

Ha ha! I luv the last one!

shadowspring -> RE: Homeschoolers plot to take over the world (3/24/2008 12:19:11 PM)

You're so subversive, alishamommyof5!

But then without that, we'd not even WANT to take over the world! So good for us that you're on OUR side!
