This reminds me of the movie, "The Burbs" with Tom Hanks. There is an absolutely hilarious part in there regarding sardines and pretzels! [:D][:D][:D]

WHat recipe are you using, Phossy? I always put anchovies in Caesar Salad dressing.

Sardines are properly eaten with soda crackers and hot sauce and washed down with beer. Any other use violates propriety in so many ways I cannot even begin to list them.

Fish are good and holy, and it is meet and right so to eat them. Jesus cooked a breakfast of fish for His disciples after His Ressurection. He multiplied two fish to feed the multitudes. The fish was an ancient symbol for Christianity.

Might want to reconsider who is the sinful one here...[sm=nosestuckup.gif]

phosadaud -> RE: Is eating pizza a sin? (3/22/2008 2:10:45 PM)

OK, maybe it's anchovies[8D]... they're both fishy and they both come in those tin cans... [:'(]

And are you now trying to say that we should be eating an ancient symbol of Christianity? [sm=shakinghead.gif]

Ps103 -> RE: Is eating pizza a sin? (3/22/2008 2:21:33 PM)

Jesus did.[;)]

But.... but.... but....

Nevermind... [8D]

But He must have put a coating on them and fried them, like they do at LJS. [:D]

Ps103,

you are gaining my respect by leaps and bounds.

Thanks

OK, since I have such evil friends, I had to post this question being the heathen that I am....

This question comes to you thanks to:

And any of my other heathen friends who have forced me to give in to temptation... [8D]

Oh, hon, I'm a heretic, so don't worry about being a heathen. In fact, I"m thinking of making a club called the Heretic and Heathen Club. As for pizza being a sin, only if it has anchovies on it. YUCK!!!

Pizza is only a sin if it has Pineapple on it.[:'(] I love Pineapple but not on my Pizza. [:'(]

Pizza would only be a sin if it did not have anchovies and onions on it.

Thanks
RC

Agreed!

Now you've just insulted my favorite flavor (Hawaiian Pizza). NowTHAT's a sin. JK

Why does HAWAIIAN pizza have CANADIAN bacon on it? I've never been able to figure that out. Confusing us like that is a sin.[;)]

Grick -> RE: Is eating pizza a sin? (3/23/2008 12:38:44 AM)

Pizza is probably a sin for me since I have a tendency to eat the whole pizza.

car2ner -> RE: Is eating pizza a sin? (3/23/2008 8:13:27 AM)

calling a pizza a Chicago deep dish pizza just because it has a thick crust, is a sin... it is supposed to be thick toppings!

calling it a New York style pizza when you don't have to fold the point in and deal with great stringy mozzerella in each bite is a sin. NY pizza had always been delightfully messy when I lived there.

finding a place that makes a nice mid-western style pizza (thin crispy crust with cornmeal bottom, cut into strips instead of wedges) just to have it bought out by someplace with arches and then closed!!! that is a sin.

AngelInWaiting1983 -> RE: Is eating pizza a sin? (3/24/2008 2:22:05 AM)

If eating pizza is a sin then I may as well be the devil incarnate! [sm=icon_smile_evil.gif]

I could eat pizza every day of the week. I actually used to in high school and when I worked at an Italian restaurant.

DreadPirateRandy -> RE: Is eating pizza a sin? (3/24/2008 4:31:31 AM)

I don't believe pizza, in itself, is a sin. (unless it's not BBQ beef, pepperoni, or Italian sausage)

Now, when there's only one slice left and two devouring carnivores...

hawkfan428 -> RE: Is eating pizza a sin? (3/24/2008 4:38:40 PM)

It's a sin only if you are reading NIV while eating your pizza and playing cards! [:D]

For that you would also need an extra hand or two.

GeorgiaNerd -> RE: Is eating pizza a sin? (3/24/2008 6:11:11 PM)

It's only a sin if you eat it with cheese. So all you cheeseitarians are in trouble.[;)]

My dear mother in law often tells the story of the "pizza death dance" that was preformed by her and her children many moons ago. The description goes a little like this:
kids and parents hover round the pizza in a menacing stance of preperation, each staring eachother down before the race, once the box is opened/pizza is sliced, the cut throat grab all you can till it's gone begins.
So yes, in their household, eating pizza was a dog eat dog sinful game of gluttony and dominance.
They have since repented of their ways and now eat pizza with grace, self control, and consideration.[;)]

Shame. I can see that as an Olympic sport.

It doesn't. It has ham on it.

Besides, take it from a Canadian, there's no such thing as Canadian bacon; it's called back bacon.

phosadaud -> RE: Is eating pizza a sin? (3/24/2008 8:34:58 PM)

I think it is sinful that there is no Papa Murphy's in my neighborhood...

Wonder what Pizza Hut would say if I called in an order for a large back bacon pizza?[:D]
