ORIGINAL: brothertodd not a sin, but if you pot beef or lamb on it it is considered unclean cause of the cheese. Kosher dietary restrictions dont alow the mixing of dairy with beef and lamb. havent found a reasonable reason for that. Ex 23:19 Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk. Ex 34:26 Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk. Dt 14:21 Do not eat anything you find already dead. You may give it to an alien living in any of your towns, and he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner. But you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Do not cook a young goat in its mother's milk. It seems that cooking a kid in its mother's milk was common in Canaanite cuisine, and God ordered Israel not to follow that custom. I don't know if it was merely a separation issue, or if there were other reasons. Rabbinical Judaism at some point took an injunction against a certain dish and turned it into a principle, applying it to all other meats as well. The modern injuction against eating meat and dairy products at the same meal comes from the theoretical possibility that the mother of the beef provided the butter.

Ummmm... are you aware that this thread is written tongue in cheek? As in not to be taken seriously...

I suspect that certain dietary issues were for health reasons... not using the same fork for vegies and for meat. We have that same advice today. Wash tableware and cutting boards after using it with raw meat, before using it with veggies. Of course, today not only did we eat some seriously good pizza for lunch today, I now have taken care of the Pride issue by doing so.

Eatting a Taco Bell breakfast burrito is a sin. And my son offered one to me this morning. That is how I know. Washed it down with coffee............

That's how I knew I was getting older; when the diet of my college years started giving me indigestion. Taco Bell is a sin if it's not served between the hours of 12:00-8:00 pm.

I remember eating a large breakfast burrito in a diner in Taos, New Mexico. It seemed the natural thing to do, being in New Mexico and all.

NEW Mexico, not Mexico...there's a differance I suspect. I hope it was a NEW burritto and not just a burritto.

I'm trying to remember if there is such a thing as a burrito in Mexico (besides the living kind). All I recall are tacos.

What I have found is that most Mexican food in the US is actually Mex/Tex food. Does not resemble Mexican food in Mexico for the most part.

I work with a woman from Mexico City and she brings her lunch every day...and trust me it ain't taco bell or anything resembling it Most of it smells really good, looks weird and tastes sorta odd I still like breakfast burritoes - I make them at home though and I know what goes in them.
