I just wanted to admit to you all that I sinned this past weekend. Actually my wife did as well, it was a joint experience.

We had pizza at one of the best places possible in Chicago - all of their ingredients are organic and WOW - unreal.

We try to go once a month, so yes we are habitual sinners.

Chicago, does have some excellent pizza. I once stayed at a hotel that was 2 blocks from Pizzaria Uno. It was an hour wait to get served.

Reminds me why I like to make pizza from scratch.

Anyone from Chicago will tell you UNO is an over-rated tourist trap. It's not the best Chicago pizza in the city.

I saw a tv show about a pizza place in Chicago and they mail ordered the pizza. It was suppose to be the best in chicago. I thought it had the name joe in it but I could be wrong. It's been a while. I remember linking to it here in forums.

It's ok, but still a 'no'.

And that is steps from my current home church - Moody Bible Church.

Earthless, you ever been to Lou's? That place I linked to?

SharMar, no, they did NOT say they'd make me a pie! I think they planned on ripping me off!

They had a Uno in Kansas for awhile. It was made totally different. It lasted about 5 years and then closed.

So what is the best pizza in Chicago?

I heard the best pizza in Kansas City is Pizza Shoppe Pizza. I've actually had it and it was pretty darn good. I had been on a plane and at the airport all day, so that could come in to play with things.

We really don't have any great specialty pizza places around here (I love Papa Murphy's but it's a chain store). It's really quite sad...

That was one of my big gripes living in Seattle - no good pizza, and no good barbecue.

Although if you like seafood...

I'm not a big seafood fan, but I must admit that dodging flying fish at Pike Street Market is great fun!

I'm a huge seafood fan, so the sacrifice of good barbecue was well worth it for me.

I'd move back to Seattle in a heartbeat if I could. The best part of the fish market was the big ugly monkfish with the huge toothy mouth. They had a string tied to the upper jaw so when kids got too close someone would grab the string and tug so the big mouth would suddenly open wide. Freaked the kids out pretty nicely.

Hungry Howie's in Ft Wayne...not necessarily the pizza overall but the crust - it's so good I just want to roll around on it. Wait, is that a sin?

Also, Mazzi's in Portland, OR: true Sicilian pizza. Too bad they went out of business a few years ago. We used to make the 1/2 hour trip just to get a to-go pie. Part of which mysteriously disappeared on the way hom, darn pizza gremlins!!!
