Hey that sounds great, man! Martinsville is a little haul for me, but it's definitely possible I could make it, and I haven't heard of Jetersville. You sure that's not NY? (Yankees) [:D]

I'll be at NQC. You singing in any showcases over the weekend? I'll be there Thurs-Sat. Either way, I'll definitely try to stop in and say "Hello."

Bassinger24 -> RE: The Old Paths (6/12/2008 3:40:55 PM)

You are? Neat! I'll be hoping to catch that showcase, then. (But here's hoping it doesn't overlap with Pianorama--that's the one showcase I won't skip!)

Bassinger24 -> RE: The Old Paths (6/14/2008 8:30:45 PM)

LOL! Pianorama is an important event! I might have to find me a fill-in if its gonna interfere with that..LOL! Youngartst, I look forward to meeting you in person! It's one thing to talk on the forums but another to talk in person.

I agree--that's why I like meeting forum friends. It makes this community a whole lot more "real" when many of us have met in person. And even for the ones I haven't met in person, I've usually met someone who has (i.e., I've met Dinana, and she's met Santa and the rest of the Pigeon Forge gang.[:D])

Smokymtnsanta -> RE: The Old Paths (6/14/2008 9:53:17 PM)

Daniel, it's about time to come down our way for a visit. June 28th would be a good day to meet a lot of us.

I would love to, but the cost of gas and car troubles are both keeping me pretty close to home. Hopefully one of these days!

Jetersville Va is not that far from Central Va. from Farmville take 460e to 307e to 360e then Amelia springs road.

Bassinger24 -> RE: The Old Paths (6/16/2008 4:43:51 PM)

Any chance you'll get to come and see us tater? How far is Roanoke from lynchburg? I'm geographically challenged...lol

MissGizmo -> RE: The Old Paths (6/16/2008 8:27:07 PM)

Tater just wanted to let you know they will be in Axton, VA on the 28th of September. You do not have to go to Martinsville to get to the church. If you want to go let me know & I will give you directions on how to get there from RockyMount. I plan to go.

Oh, ok thanks! I think that's closer than Martinsville.

Bassinger24 -> RE: The Old Paths (6/17/2008 12:13:01 PM)

looks like we will get to meet some people face to face! I love it! I'm a people person...been one all my life. That's prolly why i did so good working in sales..lol! COME ON!!!!

danielmount -> RE: The Old Paths (6/17/2008 12:16:23 PM)

A bass singer with experience in sales...wow, that must look good on a resume for a SG group application.[:)] (The only thing that looks better is "bus mechanic."[8D])

I was listening to Today even before I started reading this thread.

Bassinger24 -> RE: The Old Paths (6/17/2008 12:25:02 PM)

oh yeah man! I worked for a company doing outside sales when i was just 16. I worked my way up to area supervisor, after i graduated high school, over seeing 6 different stores. I love sales though! Doug says that the reason I was good in sales is cuz i'm a con-artist..lol..He says that I make people believe I'm innocent when i'm guilty as a dawg! LOL[:)]

drumminman -> RE: The Old Paths (6/18/2008 5:40:50 AM)

Yea..that sounds about right. GUILTY AS A DAWG. Just kiddin man. Can't wait to hang with you this weekend...

danielmount -> RE: The Old Paths (6/18/2008 7:36:03 AM)

You know, I'm familiar with the phrase "hang out," though I don't use it much. But the recent rise of "hang with you" puzzles me. It brings to mind an entirely different mental picture than desired.

It reminds me of Benjamin Franklin's warning after the Declaration of Independence: "Gentlemen, we must all hang together, or we shall surely hang separately."

Dinana -> RE: The Old Paths (6/18/2008 7:39:30 AM)

Oh, yuk, Daniel!!!

danielmount -> RE: The Old Paths (6/18/2008 12:37:06 PM)

Well, that is what I think whenever I see that. I figured if I said it once or twice, maybe other people would get the idea and start wording comments a little more accurately.[:D]
