It was great meeting you, by the way.

Trent is a great bass singer. I am very proud of his ability but most of all I am proud that He knows who gave him his voice. Trent gives all the Glory To God and for that I am so proud of him.
He will go far.

My wife and I went thru that too. Prayers for Jeremy & Jenifer. Keep the words to this old hymn in your hearts.

Farther along we know all about it,
Father along we'll understand why
Cheer up my brother, live in the Son shine
We'll understand it, all by and by

I saw The Old Paths yesterday. Trent is settling right in with them and I know that he will just get better with age! Doug said that yesterday was his 18th birthday!

I spoke with Trent Saturday night and he's very excited about Old Paths. I first met him when he was 15 years old, on the night he sang bass with Hope's Journey for the first time. I have always felt that Trent is a precious and humble person and I hope everyone here will join me in praying for him in the days to come as he begins this new chapter in ministry.

I'm for ya, Trent!!!

I saw all of the guys on Sunday morning. Jeremy gave a very touching testimony during one of the songs - Thank You, Lord, For Your Blessings On Me. I think he and Jennifer and doing pretty well now. Thanks for the prayers, y'all.

To everyone who has prayed for my family, I'm very grateful. This has really been the hardest time for my wife and I. Most don't know, but I got married back in June to a wonderful woman from Tunnel Hill, Ga. We actually kind of grew up together, without knowing it; if that makes any sense. My dad's family grew up together with her father's family, and then as time passed by, my mom's father's quartet were best friends with my wife's family group, The Hughes Family. I travelled a good bit with my grandfather's group, the Glory Land Travelers, when I was young, and they sang with my wife's family group quite often. So I'm sure my wife and I must have gotten along even as kids....haha. My wife, had asked me to be her friend on myspace several years ago, and I accepted, but never put anything together, as to who she was. Back in late March, I was going through my friends in myspace, and had cleared everyone that I didn't really know, but for some reason, I never removed her from my friend list. I looked at her page and photos, and told the guys, "hey, I'm gonna marry this girl." They laughed at me of course. I sent her a message, and she called me that night. Once we talked, we discovered we had been raised around each other, and the many connections with our families. I met her for the first time at her church that Wednesday, and we knew right then we were meant for each other. It wasn't long after that I asked her to marry me, and she said yes. We have been inseparable ever since. (By the way, she is an awesome singer herself.) We got married June 13th, 2008 at her home church, with just a few select family and friends attending. I really wanted to keep my personal life seperate from the stage, so I didn't announce anything to the public.

We wanted to wait till Christmas to begin having a child, cause I'm not getting any younger, and didn't want to be 50 and still raising children...lol...but we found out that we were expecting our first child together, sometime this past August. So big suprise, but we were ready for it. We had so much planed for this little one. We had e-mails sent to us daily of how our child was possibly developing and growing. We were so excited. But she begin to have some complications, and we went on to the doctor. It seemed as if everything was ok, till they performed an ultra sound. I stood there in shock as we were told of the miscarriage. It was really the worst 10 seconds of my whole life. But I had to be strong for Jennifer. We had been going through so much already the last month, if was as if we weren't sure why everything was happening the way it was. But we never lost faith or hope in Christ. We learned to let everything go, and just let him take it. I told my wife, "If the Lord sees fit to take my child, my home, my money, my cars...everything....I will still praise him and serve him. Just the very gift of his salvation in my life is worth letting it all go." Once we both made the decision to let him have it all, we have seen him begin to work miracles in our life. Things that I couldn't never have possibly made happen myself. See, I was once a manipulator and a liar. Deep in sin. No hope. But he saved me and gave me a new heart and a new life. A new chance. He gave me my wife, and her little girl who just turned 2 today, Abigail. I will not turn my back on him. I will tell the world what he has done for me. If I never sing or play another note, I want to be found serving him. Nothing else matters.

So, in closing, thanks for all your thoughts and prayers. You will never know what the SG family means to my family. I PRAISE the Lord for all his blessing; big or small, that he has bestowed on me and my family.

By the way, if you would like to see photos of our wedding, and my new family, you can go to my myspace page and go through the photos.

Thank you Jeremy for sharing that...my husband and I also experienced a newborn death as well as a couple miscarriages so I do know the heartbreak that comes with that. You and Jennifer are in my prayers.
