Dinana -> GVB Reunion (3/24/2008 12:28:45 PM)

According to Wes Hampton, there's gonna be a taping of a reunion of all of the past GVB members. Here's what he wrote:

… the week of July 21st, I will be in Indiana, along with Bill, Guy, and Marsh, for a Gaither Vocal Band Reunion taping. Everyone who has ever been in the GVB will come together for two days to do, well, I’m not really sure at this point. But, all I know is that it will be awesome. I will get to hang around and sing with my vocal idols…wow. I still can’t believe it when I think about it.

Here's a link to his blog:

Should be awesome. I'd love to hear their tenors do something together. There were some great voices in that group.

There's an update from Wes Hampton's blog:

A quick update on the GVB reunion: I'm not sure of an actual time, date, or location as of this time. Once the time, date, and location are finalized, the information will not be disclosed to the public, unfortunately. I know there's been speculation on all of this, but I do know that it will be a closed taping. I'm anxious to see what Bill has up his sleeve. I know that he'll make it a very memorable, fun, exciting time for everyone involved, and I'm so glad to have the amazing opportunity to be involved in this...it is quite humbling, actually. I know that folks, especially the hard core GVB fans (like myself), will be in line to get this video when it's released.

That is definitely one project that I want to get. Should be a great DVD.

dbmurray -> RE: GVB Reunion (4/2/2008 11:28:34 AM)

I just read that the taping will be closed to the public.

A tour after the fact would be pretty great. I'd definitely buy a ticket.

I look forward to hearing something new by Bill, Guy, Mark, and David, IMO their best lineup.

dbmurray -> RE: GVB Reunion (4/17/2008 10:12:40 PM)

A GVB Reunion studio project of all new material would be outstanding. I won't be holding my breath, though.

Even if they did a studio project, when was the last time the GVB released an album of all new material?

On everything in recent memory, they've included at least a few SG classics.

I am looking forward to the DVD of this one. It should be a good one.
