Ummm... if memory serves correctly, not all platforms have a white background... not that you really gave anything away (but yes, it was cool!)...

Aren't they all close enough to white, though, so that text would be hard to read if it was in white? I know the forums here don't have an official spoiler rule, but it might be nice to know how to make it most effective on all the portals.

This just in.

Richard Dawkins, famous atheist and author of "The God Delusion," is going to have a guest-starring appearance on Doctor Who this season.

Yep, read that yesterday - cool, eh? There's all sorts making appearances this season.

Btw, did you realise you in the USA could watch Doctor Who before 18th April by using Torrents? [:D]

He's good friends with RTD, and he's married to the actress who played Leela in the TOm Baker years

[:D]
I kept reading Richard Dawkins as Richard Dawson

Charis2u -> RE: Dr Who is coming back (4/9/2008 2:37:43 PM)

I got a special screening of the series first episode, and WOW. Looks like a good ride this season, but it does have the feel that The DOctor will change at the end. The final is called Journey's End, and Donna already mentions "you don't change do you" to which the Doctor says "Maybe she'll see"
Given the last three seasons words
Black Wolf
Torchwood
Saxon

I wonder if this is the start.

Dawkins is married to Lalla Ward, the actress who played the 2nd Romana, not Louise Jameson.

And the word for series 1 was Bad Wolf, not Black Wolf.

Next one tonight, agapetos! (and any other UK viewers!)

In the UK anyhow... who's going to be watching, who's going to be jealous of those of those watching!

I think this show is great. I was flipping channels one day and it was on sci-fi and curious I kept watching it. I'm not too familiar with the show, but is there a spin-off with one of the secondary characters? I just watched an episode of a UK show last night on sci-fi called The Sarah Jane Adventures and the main character refers to a "doctor" often.

manda59 -> RE: Dr Who is coming back (4/12/2008 12:12:50 PM)

Yes, it's a spin-off! More geared towards a younger audience IMO, and quite entertaining, but not so compelling.

I enjoyed The Sarah Jane Adventures. Yes, it's a bit lighter then Doctor Who, and far less sex then Torchwood, but it was fun.

The actress who plays Sarah Jane is quite lovely. (Oooo, I sounded like Brit just then. [8D])

I only lived in Britain for about 4 months, but my parents and brother were there for several years, and they definitely picked up a lot of slang. Especially my brother, as he went to a British state school.

stateofgrace -> RE: Dr Who is coming back (4/14/2008 9:09:18 AM)

Illusion TV OnDemand is now showing 4th Doctor/Sarah Jane epsisodes! Whooohooo!

I watched[:D]

It got me thinking... wouldn't it be awful to have to make the decision he had to make, let Pompeii be destroyed, or let the world be destroyed... I know we often talk about changing things in our own lives, I wonder if we'd be better or worse off if we could change just one little part of our lives...

manda59 -> RE: Dr Who is coming back (4/15/2008 1:57:21 PM)

Yes, I thought it was very clever the way it all started with one choice (whether or not to warn them) and then mega-morphed into another even more terrible choice.

I loved the drama, the "clever bits", the Latin/Welsh bits (especially the quiet "Look you!"), and the little sequence at the end, lol.

Catherine Tate was ok, but still way too like at least one of her characters.

I found it very moving as well, because of the historical link.

Next we have the Ood - woo hoo! [:D] And Percy from Blackadder (and whoever he plays in Spooks, too)

Yep ~ I'm nearly always moved when some aspect of history is brought into drama like this (though sometimes it's not very tasteful[:'(])

Tim McInnerny. Never watched Blackadder and couldn't recall him from Spooks so had to look him up ~ he's not a Spooks regular.

everythingat -> RE: Dr Who is coming back (4/16/2008 3:10:05 AM)

I loved the Pompeii episode. I think this season is off to a great start.

I'm going to write this in white...but also throwing out a *SPOILER* warning...

Was there a Rose reference in this episode? I believe it was one of the creepy ladies that said "She is returning"? Or something similar?
