but would it be sinful if I grew a beard? Could get pizza crumbs in it I suppose.

In fact, Jesus and His disciplines have had beards & mustaches! [sm=hippiesmile.gif]

At least, they did until they started noticing the pizza crumbs.

Actually it's NOT too short. You know not that boy's too short cut. It's just perfect, easy to style and feminine and even makes you look sweet and ladylike more than the other picture. [:)]

I think if one is careful, they can enjoy eating or doing whatever they want without having crumbles in their mustaches or beards.

But the point is, since I am a woman, if I leave my hair long is it sinful to grow a beard? I am "furry". I have sideburns,in fact... but they are blonde and fine and you only notice if you look for them. Everynow and then a bored student will be staring at my face and they are amazed when they realize how "furry" I am.

>>Sunshine, nice hair style!

phosadaud -> RE: Should Women Have Short Hair (5/3/2008 9:41:30 AM)

That's what's nice about being blond though... Furry doesn't look "apey"... I know. I have furry arms and legs... [8D]

Hey, Car2ner, whatever frosts your cake! Just make sure that you are not going to one of those churches that look down on people with facial hair. They're still around, you know.

For myself, I spend much time in the morning at the mirror, making sure all those post-menopausal little hairs are fully plucked. One of the cruelest jokes on female humanity is that as the post-menopausal hairs begin to come in, the eye sight begins to wane, thus complicating the morning search.

EEEk, I do have to occassional chin wisker that has to be plucked. Still blonde but I can feel it, it is not soft and fuzzy. I think God made our eyes to get weaker in midlife so that we don't see the wrinkles in our beloved face when we kiss.

As far as my church not welcoming those with facial hair. it amazes me the rules that people try to keep. Sometimes I wonder if my pastor owns a comb! He's got that kinda hair.

To Car2ner and Saraimay --

What's ridiculous:
* I have four strong hairs that grow, and they are dark. Pluckable.
* one eyebrow, thin and blonde, that would grow forever if I don't catch it -- plucked it this morning
* one eyelash, blond and thick, that will grow forever if I don't catch it
* one long dark hair that grows on my neck (!) but I can't see it unless I use my husband's bathroom.
* And who knows what I have that I can't see.
Bought glasses recently!

car2ner -> RE: Should Women Have Short Hair (5/4/2008 7:34:23 PM)

I don't know what to tell ya. Between odd ball hairs, shaving legs and pits I am glad that I don't have to shave my chin and neck as well.

Covaan_Meshuga -> RE: Should Women Have Short Hair (5/4/2008 8:46:47 PM)

[:D], Car2ner!

Well, regarding the subject, assuming the short hair intends hair on the top of one's head -- their pate! [:)] -- there are those who say that any woman who cuts her hair is hell-bound.

Today, I went to lunch with my daughter and her daughter. Both of them normally have thick hair, and my daughter's is extremely thick, dark, and beautiful.

But today, I saw my daughter for the first time with her hair cut shorter than most men's. My daughter has cancer. I dare any one of those who claim that for a woman to cut her hair makes her hell-bound to say that to my face.

car2ner -> RE: Should Women Have Short Hair (5/4/2008 9:26:22 PM)

and if they dare to say such a cruel thing, can I join you in giving them a stare that will make them shiver all the way down to their ankles? I know how to do that,,,, I am a teacher!

Now if we want to joke around, that is one thing, but to seriously say that one's standing with God is proven by how they wear their hair...that I take issue with.

Covaan_Meshuga -> RE: Should Women Have Short Hair (5/4/2008 9:39:34 PM)

Between your stare and my sometimes-acid tongue....

Yeah, got that magnifying mirror down pat. I do my obeisance before it every morning and evening. With my glasses on.

Have you seen women with long chin hairs, and you cannot help but stare. I pluck mine, sorry but, I am a hairy woman always have been, and so maybe it is why I am intriqued by women who do pluck six inch curly chin hairs. My mom said when I was born, I was hairy, like a baby monkey. Thanks MoM.[:o] I am growing my bob for husband. I hate my hair now, I do not like messing with it. It grows really fast, and I need to have it trimed every three weeks or so. it is shoulder length now, and I do not know what to do with it. it was chin length for a liitle while loved it.

I nearly forgot to post and confess that I got my hair cut short (chin length) today. It looks really cute![sm=icon_smile_bow.gif]

gmc4Jesus -> RE: Should Women Have Short Hair (5/15/2008 11:42:11 PM)

What constitutes "short hair"?

Does it really matter?

I believe that we should be much more concerned with becoming more like Jesus and less concerned about whether a woman's hair is too long or too short.

God bless you all as you are getting to know Jesus.

Covaan_Meshuga -> RE: Should Women Have Short Hair (5/16/2008 12:57:58 AM)

It does seriously matter in some social circles. Some actually measure a woman's spirituality by the length of her hair.

I remember when I was a child, my mother struggled with the fact that I have a very high forehead, and she wanted to cut bangs for me. It was actually a church-struggle. She finally did, and I wore bangs for years.

In the meantime, the pastor's granddaughter got her hair cut, and she felt so compelled to cover up that she had cut her hair that the sweet little Christian teenager told everyone at church who asked that her brother had run over her hair with the lawn mower!

I had to wear my hair uncut, except for the bangs, until I married and left home. It used to give me headaches, too, because my hair was very thick and went past my hips. Tell you what, though -- I could wear it up in those towering curls of the '60 without a hair piece!
