I saw the episode. It was about that family that got killed by the false identity guy. It said it was his last case, but didn't say why.

Exactly! He's always just on the edge and you're never sure when he's going to just fall off. It makes it interesting. Plus, he and Eames play off each other so well. They have great chemistry (I'm not talking romantic here [:D]) together!
