Just be there to listen, pray with them and let them know God is still there and loves them.... Help to strengthen them - encourage them - and love them like Jesus.

I agree with what Judy and Amy said.
I agree too Terri, with one added thing- try not to "take sides" or say much to her, even if in agreement with her, about her husband. You never know how things will go, they may reconcile and if you have said things about him, or even just agreed with things she said, it could come back to "bite" you. Besides, speaking from some experience, when going through that you just want people to "take your side" and sometimes it's not good for you if they do! So listen, let her talk, but try to stay neutral if you can.
So sorry for your friend, having been there, done that, I know how much pain she is in right now.

Sad thing is I don't even know him. She and I haven't talked in years. It just really affected me.
