Just listening to some music. Heading to bed if nothing else happens. I could be persuaded to stay up though.

Bed is good. Of course, it's middle of the day here so it's a long time away yet.

Well I'm around. I'd just like to be on the forums for a while, if that's OK.

(later on in my day, the forums are dead quiet).

I've been thinking about the past, present and future lately. The future intrigues me because I don't know whats going to happen. The present is here and now, so I should make the best of it. The past however is having a big effect on me.

Fall always reminds me of times past. Back when things were simpler and I didn't have a worry in the world. Well I remember this one fall in particular. I had to have been in the 2nd or 3rd grade because I was still in private school. I went outside one morning to see my Dad up in a huge oak tree. Of course I walked over and asked him what he was doing. He said, "I'm building a tree stand". I didn't think anything of it. I just went back in the house to watch my Saturday morning tv shows. Around lunch time he came in and said "I've got something to show you."

So we went outside and walked down to the tree he was in and there hanging from the biggest branch was the most beautiful thing i'd ever seen. My dad had taken the time to plan and build me a swing. It was just two ropes tied to the most beautiful plank of wood. I can still remember the smile on his face when I realized he'd made it just for me. You could still smell the stain he had put on it.

Out of all the trees he could've put the swing on that one because it had the best view. I could sit on my swing and look out over the pond. It was always the coolest spot in the summer time. It was my tree and often referred to as "Terri's Tree". During the fall when we'd clean the property up we'd have a bonfire that night, roast marshmallows and weinies and just have a lot of fun. I remember sitting on the swing watching the fire dance in the night wind and seeing the stars reflect across the water. These are the times that I remember my parents love the most. They'd cozy up next to the fire and cuddle while I tried to 'reach the stars' from my swing.

Even as I got older I spent a lot of time underneath that tree. If I were upset or just needed time alone I know I could go there. As I started dating I remember spending an afternoon under that tree with my boyfriend. We've long since moved from that house. I don't know if that swing is still there. The best thing is that it will always be in my memory. One day I hope to have something special for my children like that. Even now it makes me want to drive over and see if its still there.

I was invincible and felt as if I could fly, feeling the wind in my face, joy in my heart, trying to reach the stars. I still get that feeling now, but its something totally different that causes it now.

Doing well.

Trying to find some city maps of where I'll be moving to and trying to decide what I want to eat for dinner (if anything).

How are the two of y'all doing right now?
