I think they changed the weekend the times change or something. Has anyone ever noticed that gremlins bear an uncanny resemblance to those Furby toys? Not the gremlins after they change but the cuter guys at the beginning of the movie.

Okay, our really annoying alarm clock is one that sets itself and there is no way to manually set it. When the time change changed weekends, no one told my clock, so since then we've been adding an hour in our heads. Apparently, it changed last night and I didn't know it, so I got up an hour early...thankfully without waking anyone else up. I could have SLEPT another hour?!?!?! Stupid clock. I hope the clock in our van does this. Do you think it was programed to change now because the time change has changed? Didn't the time change use to take place during the 1st weekend in April? I thought they moved the time change a week early in the fall and spring.

Did you have to program in the date or something or is it one of those that gets it's information from a satellite

Well I froze last night. We only had sheets on our bed, as we are washing all bedding. We had to put clean sheets on last night to sleep in after our treatment. We now have to strip the beds and wash the sheets again. And all the blankets need to be washed. There was no way to wash all the blankets, bedding, towels, etc. twice within 24 hours, so we sleep with only our sheets and turned up the heat. I did not turn our heat up enough, so had to get up and turn it up more in the middle of the night. Mr. Manly also woke me up twice wanting to sleep with us, which the second time, I finally let him in, but should have let him sleep with dh and I could have slept in his bed. I hate sleeping with three to the bed with me squished in the middle. On better news, I am learning to swim. Yep, at almost 44 years old, I have finally found what my problem has been all these years. I could not bob and did not know I was supposed to keep my mouth shut and blow out my nose. I have had many, many swimming lessons both from actually swimming teachers and from my mother. My mother taught my cousin how to swim no problem, but I could never get the hang of it. Yesterday we went to the gym and I practiced what I have learned watching my children take swimming lessons. I was not very good, but I did it! This is the second thing I have learned in the last couple of months. Recently I learned how to roller skate properly, after trying for years and having no progress whatsoever. Having children opens new horizons.

Happy Birthday to Brandon. I'm with Donna. I am so glad that those teen years and my twenties as well, are far behind me. TL turned fourteen last Sunday. She told me that she had heard from two different people that the year most teens are likely to rebel is when they are fourteen. She said that she did not want to go that way in her life, but wants for this year to be a year of growth spiritually, mentally and physcially. She wants to learn and grow and mature and draw close to her family, not move away from us. Then she asked my why I was crying. I thank God for that girl.

DS met with our pastor after church today to talk about communion. He has been wanting to take it for about 6 months but we require that children meet with 2 elders to make sure they understand. Since DS is young and a boy (obviously) pastor suggested a brief informal talk to make sure he's really on the right track before doing it for real. He was impressed with DS's understanding and said that he will try to set up a formal interview in the next couple weeks. He should be able to take communion in 2 weeks. Even the formal interview is not real formal. They ask questions at the age level of the child. I can be there with him. However, they do take serioiusly making sure that the child understands what it's all about, etc. One of our elders teaches 4/5th SS with his wife so usually that's when kids do it as they have been in this class and get to know the man and he gets to know them. Then he is usually one of the ones that meets with the kids. Sometimes a sibling who is a year or two younger will do it with them: like my girls did it together. DS is still 2.5 years away from being in that class. I am proud of him.
