Thanks Elizabeth :) Yeah all kids need structure, stability and reassurance, so I would think someone with OCD would need that even more? But yeah, she is doing good so far. She did start to argue with me in the shops, she wanted a short sleeve top and her mum told me that she had to get a long one, so she didn't want to get 2 long sleeved tops, but I told her that she needs to obey her parents and do what they asked her to do. So she did and she was happy with her purchases. She does things that are not necessarily OCD, but just not thinking. Like we were getting out of the car, my friend (16yrs) took a bunch of things inside, I was getting Nath out, Grace got out and my sister walked past two bags right infront of her, and Grace (my 3 yr old) was the one to stop and pick the bags up... Thanks Nicole, I hope I can find the words too :)

ORIGINAL: a_sparrow Tamara, I know you don't want to be mean to your friend, but she's obviously the sort of person who will just suck up your time, and you won't really be doing anything constructive for her, just helping her to avoid her work, KWIM? Since she doesn't take hints, and she doesn't think you're entitled to spend your time in the want you want/need to, because then she won't have anyone to amuse her, it's probably going to be necessary to be very firm, unfortunately. It doesn't sound as if she's going away on her own any time soon. Yeah, I guess part of me feels for her because not too many people want to be around her apparently, but yet I can see why. I understand everyone probably has SOMETHING about them that even their best friend doesn't like... but I can honestly say I've never seen anyone like that other than her. Part of me resents the fact that people work hard to get into this school but she used some other way to get in-- bypassing what she was supposed to do. I didn't skip biology, physics, chemistry, math, Spanish, etc. in high school, but she did. I have no clue how you can NOT do that much that you were supposed to (there's more than just what I listed) and still somehow find a way to get in, but I've seen odd things happen. I know her parents were the ones that got her in though, and they probably see nothing wrong with it. Then after she gets in, it's not like she shapes up and actually tries like she should. I might be more sympathetic if she did something crazy to get in without meeting requirements but then actually quit all the partying (so to speak; I mean going out every night when she needs to do work) and realize that she has an opportunity that she probably should have never gotten.

ORIGINAL: DenimDiva Good morning ladies! Those of you who read the prayer thread probably read that my boss' brother died yesterday. I have to do a retraction (I'll probably just delete the post). He hasn't passed on, but the drs. say that he will die any minute now. The lady who told me, got the facts confused. The brother's name is Mark and he's not saved. He's in his late 40s and had a massive heart attack last Saturday while playing golf. He has shown no imrovement while in the hospital and has been pretty much in a coma. Yesterday he took a turn for the worse and now they are just trying to decide when to remove the life support. Meanwhile, I've made a new friend. Her name is Roxy and she's about three years old. She has shiny, curly jet-black hair, average size, enjoys long walks and listens to me talk non-stop while she licks my toes. I'm not sure what she is except that she is of the canine variety and very friendly. I have her until my boss gets back. I am going to miss her when they come to pick her up. That's too bad. And so sad that he's still here but not. What a horrible thing for the family. But Roxy sounds like a dear, Well, it's a nice day. It's a bit cloudy driving to work but not that the sun's out it's more hazy to me than cloudy. I hope it clouds up again before I head home. R (one of my teaching buddies) sent me an SMS the other night that there was a weather warning. Apparently we get things here called saraya that are very dangerous. I tried looking it up on Wikipedia but just found a rock band instead. But they're apparently storms that just pop up here and there. They skip places. We had one last Friday and I guess 3 people died. But nothing so far as I know now. It's Thursday! (That's the equivelent of Friday for y'all.) In other words, it's the weekend! Yeah! Church tomorrow morning and then no company that I know of. E wants to invite a friend from school. He had a sleep over with him 2 weeks ago but both families were busy last weekend. Hopefully we can reciprocate this weekend. He's a nice boy. Very polite and his older brother seemed to enjoy having E there as well. His family's from India. They move every 2-3 years since the dad doesn't like to stay with a company for longer than 2 years. They've lived all over the place and moved here from Canada before school started. The mom said they've given up buying furniture. They just rent furnished apartments and just move their clothes, books, etc. Sounds easy. Well, have a nice day, ladies.

Hey everybody. Just trying to catch up on the chat around here. Haven't been online for a couple of days as we've had some pretty nasty thunderstorms. Going to have some more too, so I thought I'd get online whilst they'd stopped. Sore knees and hips? I can relate. My doctor and physiologist think it's possible that I have fibromyalgia. Ouchies! My body is packing up. I doubt I have conjunctivitis (pinkeye), but my eyes are all gummed up after I shut them for a while. Have to go to see the nurse tomorrow. One of my ears is not hearing at all. I'll be glad when that's all over.

Trish, I hope you feel better How is everyone doing today? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Its nice day, I woke up alot and couldnt really get much sleep today, because of my back hurting, I even went and laid on my futon because its a more firm surface then my bed... I got little sleep, and my cats going crazy and keeping everyone up. Well I got to eat with my sweetie for lunch today that was nice and I met this guy he works with who is going to take him biking with him sometime so they can do more extreme stuff... the stuff Im not really ready for or dont care to do...lol But I found out today my uncle pete died yesterday, as well his uncle gene they died on same day it was kind of ironic although gene took already had petes funeral took care of because he knows pete had no money, I havent really got to talk to my dad and see how he is doing about all this because pete is his real father and he was close to pete.

Hi all...just checking in for a second during a busy day...don't have time to catch up at the moment with everyone...but I did want to thank everyone for the hugs yesterday. Things are better today for sure....I knew yesterday that there isn't anything that was too big for God, and that was nice to hold on to...but some days you just keep having to remind yourself of that over and over again, ya know? Nicole ~ your sister is lucky to have you. Jennifer ~ sorry to hear about your family's losses.

Hi, ladies. It's Friday! Whoohoo! It's the weekend! We're off to church this morning but it's going to require drugs, the allergy variety. High dust or sandstorm? Actually I think it's just high dust. A sandstorm would be blowing and there's barely a breeze out there from what I can see. You should be able to see a road leading toward the highway in the background. I think Weather Underground said that visibility is about 1/2 a mile. E's spending the night at a friend's but is supposed to be sent back about 9 (they only live across the street) and then we head out around 10. I might try to head out a bit earlier. Need to remember stuff for the twins to do after they come back downstairs from Sunday School. Have a nice day, ladies.

Hi ladies! I had a hectic day and ran errands, and my brain now seems to have turned in for the night. quote:

One of my ears is not hearing at all. I'll be glad when that's all over. Trish, that actually sounds a lot like my allergies, especially the gummed up eye bit. Is it possible that you could be allergic to something? Nicole (CA), if my dentist locked my jaw, I think that dental care would cease to be a part of my life, possibly forever. Jennifer, I am sorry about your and your dad's loss. I am now off to bed. Have a good night, ladies!

Wow Beth, and I thought Phoenix was dusty! Ours is mostly smog though- because we're in a valley all of the pollution just sits here. I had an interesting day yesterday. Drove over 100 miles, and I now have 3 new kids on my caseload, all at different edges of "my" area of the city. One is a family with a major chip on their shoulders (with good reason), so I'm definitely going to have to step carefully.

Dust storm eek sounds bad, I would be in terrible shape if I ran into one my cat woke me up very early this moring 2hrs before I had to get up for work, because she is in "heat" and want stop that meowing/cry "mating call" *sigh* shes young I didnt know she'd do this already, well so I gotta get her spayed soon, because she is annoying everyone, and as much as I love my cat I am annoyed with not getting sleep, well im here at work and my dad will be going to the funeral soon, and my mom will be gone this weeked. My dads okay with pete passing away because he was suffering and now he suffers no more, but while he had been dying he got saved, but we arent so sure that he acctually did get saved. anyways its nice day outside, and yesterday was nice also but I hear we are getting bad weather over weekend, which is so weird we have had bad weather weekends, and nice week days, something seems backwards lol, I went riding again yesterday but it seemed tough this time and we went on new trails...and I also hit a root and ended up hitting the handle bar in my "senstive area" which is brused now but its not to bad.

As of right now nothing. I have some projects I do need to get done. I'd like to take the kids to town, the weather is suposed to be great this weekend. However it is still very wet out from all the rain we have had over the past week. I may just send the kids outside here so at least they get some outside time.

It's been cool most of the day here. So we've been catching up on watching some things that we've had recorded. Church is tomorrow, and I'm definitely hopeful that I'll be there in the morning.

I went out to some garage sales today, but it was a total bust. I picked up a few books, but really it wasn't even worth the gas I used. I"m half tempted to go out again since I found a few more promising listings on craigslist, but I'm not sure its worth it at 10am because most sales close up shop at noon. After that its just too hot. DH's birthday is today. I think we're going out to dinner with his aunt and uncle. He wanted to go to a sushi/teppen-yaki place (the ones where they cook the food at the table).
