I've actually been a member since around Nov. 2001 and still never managed to start a chat thread. I always wanted to, but someone always beats me to it. [8D]

We are overcast today which is not good for my depression, but hopefully it'll bring some rain- which is always needed.



Well, then, I think we should all agree to let you start May's chat, when the time comes![:)]

Coolio Diane!!! You lucky ducky!

So I finally got fed up and just went outside to tell our neighbours to quit walking in front of our low livingroom window and across our front steps. Everytime I try teaching Ellie-Mae to not bark at everything one of the guys next door walks right in front of our window and sets both of our dogs off. Then they act nervous and stupid for a day or more barking at EVERYTHING. [&:] It is driving me nuts. He walked so slowly in front of our window that he might as well of turned, looked at me and waved. [8|] I am so sick of them doing that. I just let him know that by law they aren't allowed to walk across our property like that and he said he was sorry and will tell the other guys. He said he hears our dogs bark a lot and I told him that if they quit walking by our place like they do everyday our dogs won't bark so much so we will all be happy. [8D]

The place we bought will be soooo much better. It is a split level so we will be up one floor from the ground if we are in our livingroom or kitchen. Our dogs won't be able to see if people walk by our place unless they walk across our back patio when we are in the downstairs walk-out Den. They didn't start barking like this until we moved here and saw neighbour guys constantly walking across our property in the back and front.

I'm sorry, ladies. I don't think I can keep up on this thread anymore. I've got Baby Chat, SAHM Support, Mommy's Milk, and Spiritual Mismatch, and it's so hard to keep up on everyone. It's like I glance through the latest page, but I'm really not like that. I want to read every post in all the threads I read. I'll try to pop in if things slow down in my other threads! [:)]

Hey Everyone!

Nicole, I found it was such a relief when we moved to a house where our dogs weren't subjected to the passing pedestrian traffic.

Dh is home for the next couple of days. He was supposed to be out of town but the site he is supposed to be working on has been having some major problems with the electricians who are working there. Until their work is sorted dh can't do his job.

So I decided to go ask him (the professor) questions tomorrow during his office hour. It'll be the first time since I switched over, so I hope he doesn't act weird. I'd think he'd be happy I'm keeping up and trying to do my work though, although I'm not fully graded (or that any student would do that)... But he's odd anyway, so I think even if he acts funny it'll probably just be the way he is. (You just have to know him understand, lol. I know people that AVOID him because of it.)

Kylie, I wish we could afford a house here, but we don't have half a million dollars. [:D] In our new place our dogs won't be able to see people walking by since our livingroom and kitchen is on the 2nd floor. That will be nice.

I am sooo tired today. I don't think I even slept last night. [&:] Maybe for a couple of hours. I had annoying dreams about finding a place to live all night. [8|] And Ellie kept stretching and kicking me. She must have woken me up at least 10 times.

We looked online to see what is for rent last night. Even my mom looked. The good news is that there is tons to rent. The bad news is that none of it is affordable[:o]. The cheapest we found was an ugly basement suite and there is no way we and our pets can live in someone's basement. Our pets would go nuts having someone always above us making noise and I would be super stressed out. I am praying that something affordable comes up or we won't know what to do... The prices have gone up soooo much in the last 4 months since we moved here. It is scary. I am just glad we found a place to buy... now to find another place to rent that we can afford.

Ugh!

Good Morning Ladies, I hope everyone is doing well today, I am getting ready for a telecon meeting and have to take notes for my boss... last night my fiance found a house online that we cant wait to call and see about its beautiful and seems to good to be true, nice and lovely and good price.... I will call at lunch but I hope that Its still forsale, but at the same time Im not working full time yet and still awaiting my results for my test :( anyways telecons starting

LOL, everyone!! This is really the first vacation besides visiting family, that I've ever taken. I'm not so anxious about the flight anymore (I DETEST and LOATHE flying, but I'm over it), I'm kinda anxious about being so far from home and in a foreign country. We're staying in Negril.

Nicole from Canada - I understand how you feel about renting and buying in the city. We can't afford to buy in the city, but thankfully, houses in the towns just outside the city are within our price range. But even renting here is ridiculous. We live in one of the cheapest (some call it one of the poorest) areas of the city, and rent is still pretty high here.

Diane - if you plan to go off the resort, make sure you ask people who work there what the typical cost of a cab ride is to where you are going. When my SIL was there, the cabbies tried to overcharge them a lot. DH said that for the most part, the people there are very good to the tourists, but there are still some people who love the American dollar a little too much! Enjoy your trip!!!

Yeah its been since feb 15th so almost 7 weeks, they told us 4 or more but this seems to long....
Well we are going saterday to look at the place, but now I have mixed feelings about it, from picutures it seemed lovely but on site it didnt tell us all details so it may not be what we think.... but we are just going to check it out saterday so we will see how that goes...

Diane, I've never been on a plane, or out of the country... I would be nervous myself but I would love to go but I have heard good things about Negril before

I was talking to my truck driver today and he was telling me about one of his good friends died, and he the guy had son who david was also really close with who took karate from him, well his friend was living some where until he got everything ready for house which he just had bought property, well this boyfriend went crazy and shot davids friend in the throat infront of all the kids and everything and was threating to shoot at the 3 year old daughter so the son grab her and ran out the house and hes only 14yrs old , guy was shooting at dog....of course he went to jail but thats really sad

Nicole(AU), yes, we do get to see her even though she's not performing tomorrow night here. She is performing on Tuesday night instead. Tomorrow night and Tuesday night are both supposed to be rain, and we're at the Members Equity Stadium which doesn't have a roof on it. Going to be a wet night by the sounds of it.

Nicole (Au) sorry about the in-law troubles, I'm very blessed now to have wonderful in-laws...but my 1st husband's family was like a drama-filled circus (it wasn't a complete funeral without a fist fight!)...so I can relate.

I hear ya Nicole...I used to be a Moderator on a site that was, essentially, a fan message board for the college team that I pull for...well it's the school that my sweet MIL & FIL attended...I knew he read the forums that were directly related to sports...but never dreamed that he'd read in the 'Ladies Discussions' forum but just like how the last post in a forum shows up on the main board page here, it did there...well one day he saw my screen name as the last post and went to the thread just cause he saw I was the last poster and he happened to see a discussion meant for ideas about male's Christmas presents...and yep, you guessed it, he found out what he was getting![sm=popsigh.gif]

Granted this wasn't him finding something negative I'd said about him...I really couldn't think of anything like that to say anyway...I adore my in-laws...but nevertheless...I learned that you never know who might read it.

BTW...this is also the reason I don't update the Spiritual Mismatch Thread with the 'little signs' of progress I see in my DH...lol.

I've decided to not complain about people too bad, but if they have honestly hurt my feelings I really dont care if they read it, maybe they'll understand and change. As far as hubby, at first I thought oh I dont want him to read anything, but maybe he NEEDS to hear that I am asking for prayer and people are praying for him.

I can't count the number of times that I've sent my hubby a text meant for my girlfriend Sherri...their phone numbers start off the same and just have different last 2 digits...so since I call my husband real often auto-pilot seems to kick in by those last 2 digits and I'll put in his number when I mean to put in Sherri's...guess it's a good thing that I make it a habit to not talk bad about my hubby, huh?
