Yeah, I was about to say that they didn't really have many details when it was reported. I'm thinking he might've thought he locked himself out of his own apartment (the apartments at that complex look alike, but it depends on where his was placed and the one he was trying to get into) and was trying to find a way in an alternate way. Odd thing is, I know of a student in Indiana who did just that and died (he went to IUPUI/Purdue)... but not because he was shot. He walked into a wrong door, but it was the only one that was unlocked that went to the apartment he was trying to get into, or so he thought (it was dark). He essentially fried himself to death on a huge battery... but that door was really supposed to be padlocked (was a maintenance-type room). (I'm sure those batteries have names also.) Inebriation did cross my mind, but they're not making any detailed comments right now about it. Just seems like he thought he was locked out of his own apartment, and that's what people are still saying. The other articles I've read said that the owners "opened the door and shot him" though. That's why I wonder if they took a look or just opened something and started to shoot (because I still think if they knew it saw who it was, they wouldn't have shot). But if he did get in the sliding glass door, I'm wondering if it was locked. There is still nothing that says he broke in. Then again, that family member who I thought was breaking into our house went to all the doors til he found an unlocked one, and I didn't hurt him. I'd probably do the same if I got locked out of my house. (But I know all my doors are locked, lol.) There are still a lot of unknowns, but I doubt they'll all be spilled to the public. It seems like the story is already dying down, and his funeral is tomorrow morning. Edited for spelling. ('Tis late. )

How long have you been at this gym? (If I may ask.)

ORIGINAL: nicole6598 Hi Posting blind! We got home from church today and hubby got summoned for a car accident that happened nearly 3 years ago! He hit a guy who he worked with and was "mates" with, hubby was behind him, following, his friend took off, hubby took off without double checking, a car was coming, both had to slam on brakes but hubby hit him. He is saying he can't work, can't do recreational things etc (but he can, he just bought a new dirt bike, and his boss is my hubby's SIL uncle who we are VERY good friends with and we know that he has been working. Anyway, the insurance that we all pay with our licence could cover it unless they find something like my hubby was grossly negligent, which looking on the net he doesn't fit any of the things, and it wasn't 100% his fault, but hubby is FURIOUS! and says he wants to smoke and also wants to ruin this guys life and wanted to go punch his head in. This is NOT what we need, please pray for us?!! I will pray Nicole. Sorry you guys are having to go through this... Tamara, I suppose if we don't know the people who shot him and didn't know the guy we may never know the whole story. God knows and it is in His hands now.
We went to church for the first time in like 6 months last night! It is a HUGE church so they have saturday night, 2 sunday morning's and 1 sunday evening service. I love the fact that we can go to church at night since I am not much of a morning person. It was a great service talking about fearing the Lord and going into depth explaining what that means. And it was really neat because a children's group led worship! They were great and it was so cute to watch! They did one song that was really upbeat (they obviously do it in children's church) and two tiny boys came out and break danced in the middle of the song. It was adorable! The church is so large that Lorne and I almost laughed. They have maps at the 3 entrances, a cafe, their own security and the children's church looks like a real jungle! It is insane! But very neat. We will go again for sure. Since it is so large it would be hard to meet people during church so we are going to call a lady in charge of young married's bible studies. When I looked online there are like 25 bible study groups just on our side of town.

Thanks Nicole prayers would be good, I am just sick of being attacked and sick of as soon as we get somewhere we are taken back again. I am calling lawyers and insurance companies today. we really don't need this. And I wondered last night "God what are you doing?!" But God will have His judgement on this guy, I just have to believe that.

At least you are looking for a lawyer for just in case. I really can't see your husband getting sued because this guy is obviously lying and his boss can even vouch for that.

Isn't there a statute of limitations? It might be different there, or different for accidents. Most of the stuff I see here is limited by 2 years.

I think I settled on what kind of PhD I want to get. Here's a link if anyone's interested. Now, I just have to do/finish all the work. I think if I don't get accepted (for '10), then I'll just start applying for different programs til I get a "yes."

Ok, so I don't need to worry about things. Here in australia we all pay some insurance with our registrations for the car, so that insurance covers injuries and we have already paid the excess for it 2 years ago. They said that we would not have to pay a cent, the insurance pays him out, they will be investigating the guy though because we told them he has made some lies about how bad his life is at the moment, so they will all look into it. PHEW! It still means hubby may have to go to court, but they said the guy won't get much more than medical bills, and again, we won't have to pay anything. THANK GOD!

That's great news, Nicole! I'm glad it's working out fine. Now your husband can feel better too. Hopefully they'll be able to bring some type of charges against the guy. Today the maid comes. I just realized I posted this in Kicka too (oops!) but she's with the people from the agency through which we're hiring her to do her blood tests, etc. but they'll call us when that's all done. The twins are excited. I talked her up to them. I also warned M not to give her a hard time. I told him that she's leaving her babies with other people so she can come here and take care of them so they'd better be good for her. (In other words, pack your bags...you're going on a guilt trip!) Now I just have to think of what to fix for supper tonight. I don't know when she'll need to be picked up so do I pick something quick and easy to leave for a bit if we leave in the middle of fixing it. Will DH go alone or should we go with him to pick her up? Who knows? At least E doesn't have taekwondo until tomorrow so we don't have to work around that at least. Nicole (Can)- I'm glad you enjoyed the church. In a church that huge SURELY you can find some normal people to be friends with. Any strange, anti-social ones would have to find a different place to be comfortable. LOL Ciao, ladies!

My cousin and her family arrive tomorrow from Germany! I should be able to visit with her about this time next week (so she can get settled a little). I have found a new ministry! It's working with kids who are orphaned due mostly to abuse issues. I can't wait to get started.

Denim (its Roberta isn't it?) that's awesome about the ministry. Nicole I freaked out when I read the snake, I forgot you had them as pets along with the rest of the zoo Yeah we all pay some insurance on the cars when we register them its factored into the cost of registration and that pays for liability if an accident occurs, it doesn't cover damage, you have to have your own insurance for that (it pays for the other person's car but for your car you have your own cover). I wonder where Kylie is? Hope the job isn't too hard for her!

Jennifer I missed your post, hope you are feeling better now! Yeah the guy has just started to say he has migraines at work now, our friend who works there says it has only happened since seeing the lawyer... Nicole- I think the lawyers for the insurance company work on your behalf, because he is suing the insurance company but it has hubby's name because he was the one who was driving. So they will just contact us if they need any info, it could take years because they will want to investiage the guy to make sure he is not lying etc.

ORIGINAL: nicole6598 Denim (its Roberta isn't it?) that's awesome about the ministry. Yuppers! I always wanted to work with orphans and I had been praying for a ministry to join. I almost didn't go to my Celebrate Recovery meeting last week. I forgot about it until the last second. I'm glad I went because the guest speaker spoke about this particular ministry.
