Ditto and a smiley of your choice for Skrey.

Me, too. [:D]

Although, Gmail has an even better feature that was added today!

Cool! I'll be setting that up for sure! I can't count the number of times that feature would have come in handy.

Sad thing is...I saw it before I truly woke up this morning and started to fall for it, saying "WHY would they seriously do that???" and then I realized that Google had gotten me. [:@]

Popping in to spur the discussion on before heading out for work...

Ok, so someone over on Narniaweb pulled a great joke and I fell for it...hook, line and sinker (I'm really good at that. If it brings you joy, you may pull pranks on me).

But it got me to thinking about a really old movie by that title: Hook Line and Sinker...Jerry Lewis was in it.

I remember thinking it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen back when I was...whatever. 12? 15? 9? The movie, I think, was in black and white--either that or our tv at the time was still in black and white.

I remember nothing about the movie except that Jerry Lewis fell into a pool at one point.

Does anyone remember that movie, and was it as funny as I remember?

I had to stop in at IMDB.com to verify. Yep it's as funny as you remember.

Jerry Lewis charcater is told he has a terminal illness. So at his wife's urging he goes on a $100,000 spree on credit (figuring that teh insurance will pay it off) Turns out he's not sick after all.[:D]

The one I remember best is the one where he has triplets or something and is a single parent. At one point I think he has them in a wheelbarrow so he can, do "something" out of doors, very funny, though it is one without Dean.

Never believe anything you read on the Internet on April 1.

Now the real question is, does that statement apply to itself? Oooh, sounds like a logic conundrum Captain Kirk could use to destroy an insane computer... [sm=biggrin.gif]

You could modify it to say Never believe anything on Google on April 1.

I'm trying to remember what last year's joke was.....

I remember that ploy being used against out of control androids but not against a computer. (Unless you're talking about nomad.)

mutinywxgirl -> RE: April 2008 Singles Chat - April Showers Bring May Flowers (4/1/2008 4:18:29 PM)

I saw it and didn't even pay any attention to it. LOLOL

Okay, so one of the BEST April Fool's Day jokes was on bigsoccer, where one of the poster's got the team owner involved in a HUGE deal thinking that the owner was going to file charges against this poster for libel and slander, etc. It was insane! I know it went on for months - with people thinking it was true. Finally, after about 10,000 posts, they let it be known that it was a joke. Thankfully I didn't moderate in that forum, so I was only an observer, but people STILL talk about it - and it was nearly 10 years ago! It was classic.

"Computer" in the generic sense. I'm thinking of Nomad, the Mudd androids, Landru, and I'm sure there are one or two others. It's practically Kirk's favorite pastime. [sm=biggrin.gif]

I remember him using it against the androids and kind of against nomad. Against Landru I remember him just confronting it with the truth. (OK so it's a topic only geeks would argue about, at least we have fun at it[:D])

Agreed! [sm=icon_smile.gif]

What about the Oracle of Yonada? I'm a little fuzzy about how they got past it to the machine room that controlled the asteroid.
