Oh God of answers, I ask that what Matthew said last night about changing his idea of "value" was a REAL breakthrough! One that satan can't cloud over! Please Father, may Your voice be heard by Matthew and recognized!

You see me right now and the life I'm living. I ask that You will show me areas that I need to work on and areas that will shine Your light into Matthew's life.
Please soften his heart and mind and turn back to You. Please Lord, I ask that You will show him Yourself! Make this Matthew's last September apart from You.

I am asking for prayer for Matthew right now from all of you prayer warriors....
Matthew and I have gotten into a couple very serious God/No god debates this week at his own prompting. So tonight we were just trying to take it easy when he started talking about the history of the protestant church and how many horrible things it has done and people it has slaughtered all in the name of God.
I requested that we not talk about that tonight yet he went on. I finally said to him, "you know I'm a Christian, why would you then associate with someone who condones such awful acts as you say all of Christianity does?"
And he answered that he's ok with my being a Christian, but wants to systematically fight the Christian church because of all the suffering it causes...
After a few more words between us he said it~!~

He said," I guess my reason for despising Christianity so much is because of all the hope and faith and trust I had invested in it that came crashing down and shattered around me. It's personal."

I feel like the root has been found!

Then he said he was going to go out for a very quick (it's about to rain) walk to cool himself off, and he'll be back.
Well, that was 2 1/2 hours ago and he's not back! He doesn't have his cell phone, hat, or anything, and I'm worried.
He's been extraordinarily depressed since the firing I told you about last week.
Please pray for his tormented soul. He needs our Lord to lean on and trust in right now more than ever.
I'm so afraid because as much as I'd like to, I can't rule out suicide for him, and as much as I want to comfort him, he needs it from GOD our savior, not something that can come from me.
I feel like now more and more he's jabbing Christianity, every time he see's me read my bible, he points out what he believes are contradictions and apparent errors, etc etc.
It seems to me like he's wrestling with God right now, and is trying to hold up him front that there's no God because he feels angry about his past. Please pray for this wonderful man. That not only will God reveal Himself to Matthew in a way that will be obvious to him, but also that Matthew will SEE God and not be able to deny it.

I'm praying with you for your friend Matthew.

You might assure him that there's nothing any one of us could offer to the Lord in and of itself that has value to Him- not even hope, faith, and trust. That salvation is not something that can be invested in, and that Christianity is not a wise investment but a relationship.

Oh Lord,
How long until Matthew turns back to You after 5 years of claiming You are dead?? Please give him the thoughts he needs to overcome his atheism and go back to the faith of his youth. Please Jesus, help equip him to do wonderful works for Your kingdom.
I ask also, that his precious, precious children will come to their own personal relationships with You too.

I PRAISE YOU for the job that You provided Matthew with after being unemployed since March!!!! Please help him to start getting things back to stable! And please Lord, I ask that You will make this new job of his help him get out of the deep, deep, funky depression that has been plagueing him for quite some time. Please Father, I ask that You will bring into his life on a regular basis, a Strong Christian Male that Matthew respects and listens to. Please bring Matthew into Your family!
