Lord, thank you for a dear woman,sweet woman such as Nan...Thank you that you can
use her with people at work, please Lord, I pray that you bring someone wonderful to
her that she can share your word with Lord and be able to enjoy their company everyday
at lunch. I pray for peace and joy for her each day that she wakes up and each night
she lay her head down to go to sleep. I pray for her continued faith and trust in you Lord,
that she only grow stronger and closer to you each day of her life...

Nan - I think of you often but can't pop in here. There is a thing at my work and let's say I can more easily identify with your situations - both the crazy pace and the lunch / friends thing. And, when I feel stressed here, and turn to the Lord, I take you with me.
I don't know that I would have your strength or grace and I admire you.
A poem keeps popping into my head. I'm sure there is scripture that says the same thing, but that is up to someone more learned than I. It think it starts...
Go placidly amid the noise, and haste, and remember the peace that is found in silence.
You know - it was 20 years ago when I heard, I'm sure the line is messed up. But, as your day gets busy my prayer for you is peace. The peace you find when you are listening to the Lord. May it wash over you, overwhelm you and carry you through your day.
We love you.
God loves you.
And, if you need to walk to Chicago again - be sure to wear the right shoes for the job - we don't want to worry about your feet unnecessarily...

Dearest Father,
Please bless me as me and my inner spirit walk through this life without bob.
Last friday I called 8 people to go get coffee and nobody could go. Most have hubby's or kids, but no hubby.
THAT is when I feel destitute.
I spend my lunches with You, Lord, but I still need people. I am a people person.
I am a social, loving, spiritual being who needs others to share with, laugh out loud with, etc.
The fact that no one is actually looking for me like Bob would have, or wants to surprise me, or whatever, suddenly then sinks into my deepest heart and I cry so hard I almost can't see.
Father, help me.
I have a new reality of loneliness that is excruciating.
It is REALITY.
Of course after 34.5 years with Bob, why should I be used to it?????
I have people who ask if I am 'healed now'. It has not even been 3 months since bob died, for heaven's sakes, and I just say no, I'm not, but thank you for asking....
HELP ME DEAR GOD.
I pray Bob is joyful.
I pray he is my guardian angel and you are letting him look after me.
I will be his forever.

Jesus, thank You that You are, our best friend ever. One that is always with us, that will never leave us or let us down. No one is faithful like You Lord. Lord, You know Nan's need for conpanionship, for You make her who she is. Help her first of all to be content in Your presence alone Lord regardless of who or what else is going on. And send her christian friends to spend time with her and uplift her as she ajusts to life without Bob. To know that she is loved and cared for and wanted. Place it in her heart Lord, what You would have her to know and what You would have her to do. Thank You Father for all that You have done and will do for Nan. Thank You for loving her so. In Jesus precious name. AMen

Lord Jesus, walk beside Nan all day and everyday so that she can actually feel your touch. Guide her hands as they go about her work. Let her rest her head on your shoulder when the burdens are too much. Dry her tears when she feels alone and overwhelmed. Whisper in her ear when she needs to hear a voice. Give her joy and peace. Remind her that she will see Bob again. Remind her that her mother will soon be well and with You and all those who have gone before. Give her joy in that realization. Open doors to jobs that might fit her better or, if it is Your will, teach her what she needs to know to do this job so that You might receive glory. Show Nan how You would have her use this awful year to help others and further Your kingdom. Make her a missionary for You right in her little town. In Jesus name I pray, amen
