Lousy. My car needs $500 worth of brake work I cannot afford and my mechanic does not have time to do. He doesn't even have time to change my oil, for Pete's sake. And Wal-Mart won't do it because it's against their policy to change oil when you need a pair of vice grips to open the hood ....

Pretty good. I'm back into wearing my pre-wedding jeans! Woo hoo! Kevin and I talked a bit about my weight loss the other day. I don't know how much I weighed when we were married. Kevin thinks I was above X pounds (I'm not giving the number, LOL), which I agree with, but I don't know how much over. However, I'm right around X pounds now, so I could very well be thinner than I was when we married!  All from eating better, saying "no" to high fat, high-calorie foods (well, I do still occasionally have some - this isn't a diet but a lifestyle change, and chocolate has to be in my lifestyle! Ha!) and exercising.
The heat and humidity have also broken today, so it's a gorgeous day. I need to get out and run errands. It IS a high UV day, though, so I won't be out for hours.
This week is my last week of helping at the Christian high school in town. I don't know if I mentioned it, but 2 days a week I have been working with 4 10th grade students, teaching them math. (I won't get into why I'm doing it, other than that I wanted to volunteer, and this came up.) They take their final exams this week, so after sitting in with them for their exam, I'll be done! I'm glad - this wasn't what I had in mind when I went in to volunteer in January. But it has been beneficial to them, so I'm glad I did it and stuck with it.
OK, off to run my errands now...

Hey everybody. Sure is quiet in here.
I went back to the gym for the first time in 3 weeks today. I was looking forward to it, now I'm not looking forward to the resulting pain. I don't deal with pain very well. I've been told that I have a high pain threshold, but I don't think that I do. Oh well, I'll just keep going along and see how I go.

You're not the only one who's recently returned to working out. After a month of moving, I'm just now starting to work out regularly at a small fitness center at the local hospital. During the month of moving, the combination of eating poorly and lack of regular exercise caused me to gain over 3 lbs. But, after readjusting my diet and working out semi-regularly for the last week plus, I'm back to about where I was 6-8 weeks ago. Now, I just need to get back down to 192, like I earlier this year.

Thank's, I appreciate that. Although, I have to admit, I'm not sure I'll be able to reach the 'maximum weight' that the Army says that I'm supposed to weight. Supposedly, I am not supposed to weigh over 187 lbs for my height. I might be able to get that far down since my goal is to get below 20% body fat. But, who knows....

Hey to all!
Di, so sorry about the car. I'm praying for you!
Tricia, congrats on the weight loss! I must really be behind in here because I didn't even know your sister was getting married!
Our church is having VBS in two weeks. No one had volunteered to be the director so I finally agreed two weeks ago. I've never done this before but so far things have come together.
We're having 5 college kids come to help us with VBS. They are from all over and are traveling around to help smaller churches with VBS and Back Yard Bible Clubs with the same literature we're using. So they'll be great help! The only thing is no one is volunteering to house them. Austin and I can take one. That means we'll have to move Josie out of her room and into ours for the week. No biggie, really. There will be a few other things we'll have to do but it'll work out. I'm just hoping and praying that the other 4 can get homes!
Josie's doing very well. We had her dedicated last Sunday at church. She's growing so fast! Her tear ducts are still clogged and we are looking at the possibility of having them probed in September. Prayers for them opening on their own are much appreciated!!

My car should be fixed today ... for $400 ($150 of which is payback from a loan from my brother.) Turns out it needed even more than I thought it did ... but this shop is able to replace two tie rod ends, front pads and rotors, a rear caliper, the gas line and two brake lines all for that. The bummer is I am home from my vacation and the car STILL is not done. Grrrrr!

Hi everyone!
Speaking of exercising, starting next week I'm making sure I go to the gym 5 times a week till the wedding. I still could afford to lose a tad more.
The biggest news for me at this time is that in just one day, we found are place to start off our life together! It's in the town where I grew up in. I am sooo excited about that fact!

Those skeeters love me. I guess my handle is appropriate! Kevin can go out and mow the lawn and not have them bite him. Either that, or they bite him but he doesn't have the reaction to them that I do. Yippee for him, but it stinks for me. 
My arms and legs are covered in skeeter bites!
