As an '80s kid, it was the Kingsmen.

This was a difficult choice for me... I went with the Cathedrals, but I also loved The Happy Goodmans and also the original Hinsons.

I voted for The Happy Goodmans, but could have voted for the Kingsman in the time of Anthony Burger . Both were very good as were all of the other listed on the poll.

Hidee,
Absolutely the Sensational Statesmen Quartet...in my humble opinion, the Quartet which set the standard for everyone else who has ever followed in their giant footsteps!

Why are the Blackwood Brothers not listed or the Chuck Wagon Gang? For some of us old folks they rank right up there near the top.

Really? I'm looking forward to seeing them for the first time when Bobby brings them to Georgia in May.

The Statesmen

Followed closely by the Cathedrals and Happy Goodman Family.

I am an old geezer.

So Kerr that is my problem. No one is looking for me. Maybe I should be more visible.

I've read on here that you can't hear a good baritone. Maybe your group doesn't know that you're gone.

This explains why a civil servant doesn't fret over a missing credit card.

Hey Smokymtnsanta, its no offense to the Blackwood Brothers or The Chuck Wagon Gang, to be honest, when setting up the poll My mind just went blank with older groups. I love the Blackwoods and The Chuck Wagon Gang is good as well. I am a huge fan of the older Southern Gospel Music. I am only 25, but I am not into CCM, Its pure Southern Gospel for me. I have a huge music collection, and most of mine is older cds. I am truely sorry I forgot them, as well as the Florida Boys.

Gold City got my vote, but I hesitated between them and the Cathedrals. I grew up listening to records and cassettes of both groups...albums like "Double Take (GC)" and "I've Just Started Living(Cats)."

Good memories!
