[:D][:D]I need some thinkers on this one.

My church uses popcorn buckets as offering plates. It has to do with the roots of the church, as it started out meeting in the movie theater, on Sunday mornings.

Problem is, it has been about a year since we have met in the theater and our popcorn buckets are getting a little dog eared and looking like they are soon going to leak coins out the bottoms.

AS A FUN LITTLE SERVICE FOR MY CHURCH, I WANTED TO MAKE NEW POPCORN BUCKETS.

I was going to make them out of plastic mesh made for cross stitch. I was also going to make them look like popcorn buckets too.

I wanted to put some sort of corny, but relevent, saying under neath the popcorn sign on it. I just don't know what that would be.

Could you all help me with this part of it.

I thought of, "Planting kernals today will erupt in acts of kindness tomorrow." But this sound a little too wierd.

I know there are some very prominent thinkers on here. Could you please help me out?

Thanks, I have some good input so far.

I like what oldmethuselah has said the best so far.

I need the ideas you share to be scripturally based, but fun and original.

The church I go to is a very hip, happening church.

We get together and make worship a fun, happy, loving activity.

For instance, last Sunday for song service, we sang The pesh mode-"about calling Jesus on the telephone" followed next by "I'll fly away".

The pastor, hardly ever talks about offering. It is usually "Give what you can, and if you can't well, maybe you can help next time.", or, "If you can't help with the offering, maybe you can help by donation of your time by volunteering for nursery, or singing, or whatever your heart calls you to do."

The last few Sundays, since the Economic Stimulous Package has been talked about, he has come up with The Grace Stimulous Package. He says, it is free money we are getting from the gov. maybe we can give $50 or so for every credit we get back.

So this is why I need the "corny" saying so much. I need it to tie into the scripturally based, fun to worship the Lord attitude that my church has. After all, it is hard to worship the Lord with all our hearts if we make it boring. If your board, you usually sleep, if your having fun, your whole heart, body, mind and soul is involved.

Love this one. It is short, so it won't take long to cross stitch.
If anyone has any other ideas, I am still open to suggestions.
Won't get to the sign part until at least friday.

The more suggestions the merrier. Besides, if nothing else, it is a good way to have some light hearted stress relief. I am really enjoying reading all of these.

I put this question to people on another site too. I told them a few of the ones I liked. So far everyone loves this one and "He that hath EARS"

If you come up with any others let me know. I wont be puttin on the sayings till next friday. There are three popcorn buckets. I might just use three different saying because they are all so awsome. If I get enough different sayings, I may just wait a week to poll everyone and gett all the votes for the top three.

Not what you were asking for, but think about it.

The popcorn buckets are a great idea, though.

And they don't have to all say the same thing.

HELLO ALL!!

Sorry I couldn't reply until today. I had a computer issue that had to be resolved before I could get on the net. Evidently I had some malware on there that caused my computer to automatically access the net if on. So, I refused to turn it on until I could find solution. (New stronger better protection, in a layered effect.)

Anyways, I am going to deliver the buckets today. Have three in all. Finished them up last night when I could first access web again. I used 11 of the funniest sayings on them. I couldn't wait for the stitch method, but found these great square buckets at hobby lobby and painted them instead.

The reason I only used 11 is because the pastor gave me one idea and didn't even know about it. He talked last week about the economic stimulous package, and put a spin on it. He said it is free money and we aught to think about giving 25 or 50 dollars for each credit we get back. He called it, "The Grace Stimulus Package" or GSP for short.

I put my own spin on that GSP and one side of one of the buckets says,"GraceStimulusPopcorn bucket.

I figured when you are giving to the Lord, you are always stimulating grace, so this wouldn't be too time sensitive for one of the sayings.

Anyways here is a list of the ones I used.
