Ironically, Democrats cut down on this practice when they took over from Republicans in 2006. Incidentally, the budget deficit decreased. These days, we can only choose between tax-and-spend Democrats and borrow-and-spend Republicans. Personally, I'd rather have Congress tax-and-spend than borrow and spend. Personally, I would rather we threw both out and elected people who consistently spent within their means; and if Congress can't do it, they should give the President the power to trim the excess. AMEN!!!

ORIGINAL: Jhud So if Obama and his supporters are so thin skinned that they can't take the rough and tumble of a Presidential election that has occurred since the office existed, then he and they should just get out of the way and let someone serious run for office, because we don't have the luxury of electing a whiny, Ivy-league educated snob who thinks our country owes him the Presidency. Replace the third word with "Clinton" and the third to last word with "her" and this run-on sentence is still true.

Yes, well the President is much less beholden to a particular constituency then Congessman X form Porkbarrel, USA. And if we add to that a Balanced Budget amendment, maybe we can finally get lasso round the neck of this out of control government.

I have read Obama is very arrogant, and rude in private. I have a link to the article in the endtimes folder.tHis wife seems very arrogant also. So was Nancy though and still that way to be fair. I do not remember what happened alot in the Ronnie years did not pay attention. Colin Powell ( I do not know about pro-choice stance) has an aire of class about not arrogant but humility. He is experienced and intelligent great leadership skills. He seems not to down others to further his career. He is just a what you see is what you get type person. Obama, is flim Flam man, that is my opinion, I know others have a different opinion of this, which I respect. The truth is he is as much white as black. Like I said Larry Elder, four years ago thought he was great, now he does not. I wonder why?

I said earlier in a thread that in the end, this election will be played in the media, and apparently on some message boards too, as being about Obama's race. If Obama loses, and goodness knows I hope he does, the media and the left will call it a rejection of his race, not a rejection of his ideas. Well, I for one reject his ideas, and have repeatedly whether they've come in the form of a white senator from SD, a white senator from MA, a white former first lady from AR, a German Jew from Trier, or a black senator from Illinois.

In fact, I'd be real tempted to vote for the first one who ran on 'No new Tax increases, No new pork, No new laws, no new requirements or mandates; until that which we have now comes into compliance and found works or is done away with as broken and unrepairable. It's time to clean house from top to bottom.

What kind of a ridiculous and ignorant question/accusation is this. What hateful feelings? What racism? People expressing dislike for Obama's position, qualifications, and religious choices has nothing to do with his color or with hatred, just as the people who have expressed dislike for Hillary's or McCain's stance and choices has nothing to do with color or hatred or gender.

ORIGINAL: Random Is any white person worthy to be President? Is any person of any race worthy in this day of extreme polarization? Thank you, my thoughts exactly! I don't think race has anything to do with whether or not one is qualified or even worthy to be president. Honestly, I can't think of too many of any race. We just don't have a lot to choose from these days. That and since our nation as a whole (ok, electoral college) elects our president it seems that a less Christ-like person will take office especially given the moral aptitude of our nation.
