you can be a christian band and not say the word God in ur songs. they want mainstream kids to buy a cd and you get them hooked and them talk about god at a concert or something liike that. but i once asked a band that very Q and they told me! lol

anyway i can't really thinh of a christian band thats all that bad acctually but if you want to know about mainstream bands i could list off about a hundred

Teenagers take that waaay out of context.

Here's your average, assumed Christian, teenager with that logic:

"Duuuude! Have you heard the new 'Panic! At the Disco' CD?! It has a song with 'God' in the title! best Christian band.EVER!"

They use this concept and twist it into their own excuse to listen to ungodly things. It burns me up.

but anyways...

i think majority of today's artists are generic....

Red is actually one of the bands I'd disagree with being in the "generic" category though.

And The Clash does NOT suck.....all the music I've heard before the 90's actually has been unique. A lot of it not so good, but unique nonetheless. Then the 90's hit, talk about ****. (there are exceptions, though)

Today there are still some artists who rise above the copy and paste music industry, but that's still pretty sad.

and someone said that folk and classic rock are crud, they should rethink that. The folk and classic rockers are the grand daddies(and mommas, heh) of great music!

you cant say you like new bands, with out liking the old.

and there is alot of bands that say there christian, so they "look good".
which is dumb, they convince kids there christain, they sing there songs.
and have no ideal that the band they love really do things they shouldny be doing.

Dang! Its that hes been following me around and telling me how great the Clash is, so I finally listened and they dont suck. I just said that after I heard the song "straight to hell" on the xm punk station, and I hated it. But I like the song White Riot, I dont care if adults post, just as long as they dont follow me around giving a lecture on why to listen to some band I dont like.

BTW I found some classic rock I like-Boston, Foghat, Van Halen, Deep Purple, and a few others that are cool.

Hey.. you guys really should be more respectful to each other.....
There are two things I can't stand about teens in the music topic:
Sucky music taste because they are too young to know better, and the inability to keep from downing other's music taste[who 90% of the time actually knows good music]. But there's no reason to insult each other [;)]

and hey... if a teacher wants to share his music experience, I'd say more power to him.

at Underoath concerts thety talk all about God in between songs. Also yes its christian music but some of these songs you need some revelation for because they are problems dealing with todays society in general.... this world has become a twisted place and all these Christian bands have there own way of worship and style... There are other genres than rock/screamo. That is just my personal preferance.

I like pretty well all music. I have an especial affinity for hardcore and folk. Opposite ends of a weird spectrum.

i dont get what your saying.
are you saying they dont need to be dealing with these issuses??
or that they should just not be singing about them??
yes they are a christian band, but just beacuse kids are christian doesnt mean they dont face the same troubles and temptations as non-believers do.

about these guys, i just dont know. my dad says he listened to them a lot when he was a kid. he listened to their song "highway to hell" a lot. now he cant even listen to a rock song with even the same beat as that song, or the highway to hell lyrics play in his head. it drives him insane.

Actually, I was listening to Underoath the other day, and they do mention God in "Moving for the Sake of Motion". Inth chorus they say "Oh my God, what is the that I've become". MFTSOM is one of my favorite UO songs. They're working on a new album, and a live cd/dvd is coming soon! YEAH!!!!!
