uh nope

Yeh, I thought you were supposed to down it quick. I was not experienced with such things at the time and had no appreciation for the finer things in life like scotch.

still don't get it

I remember reading about a method of drinking scotch that keeps that from happening. It's not pleasant though. I tried it. I'd be hard pressed to figure out which would be worse...

I come in here to peek around and the discussion is about scotch! mmmm...a favourite of mine if I do say so myself.

My uncle's and cousin's used to have a 'cigar' room and I would sit on the balcony and smell all the aromas and listen as they talked and drank scotch all night. When I was older my cousin gave me my first drink of scotch and I loved it.

I haven't had any Scotch but I have had Irish Cream...And Rum. One of the first drinks I ordered once I became 'legal' was a Rum and Coke.

Rum is good because it goes with a lot of things. Same with vodka.

Rum is definitely NOT a favorite of mine. I can't even stand the smell of it...

You're correct. But the smell of rum just makes me ...

I gave up alcohol six years ago... It was fairly easy...

That's cool.

I don't think I've ever taken the time to smell rum...I'll have to do that next time I'm at my parents. I think they have some Cap'n Morgans somewhere.

The only use I found for rum was to clean my pipe collection (smoking, not water or sewer).

Scotch is nasty. My grandpa used to drink it all day long and I tried it once... Ick!

I've never had real rum, but I do like rum flavoring in certain baked things...

And don't get me started on beer....

Amen, Sister! I can't abide the smell of beer, let alone think of drinking it!!

As a former drinker, I was at a party a few weeks ago, the smell of it was just intoxicating.

My great-grandpa used to say was ok to have an eye-opener upon arising, before doing the feeding and milking...

And a shot before breakfast took the chill off and stimulated the appetite...

And a mid-morning pick-me-up made the work go faster...

And a couple of beers with lunch keeps a man from drying out...

And an afternoon shot keeps you moving through to dinner time...

And every civilized person has a bottle of wine with dinner...

And a nightcap helps you sleep better...

But it wouldn't be Christian for a man to just sip, sip, sip all day long.
