I wholeheartedly agree with you. And I wonder how many men in that thread are still single.

doinkdom -> RE: CW Underground (5/27/2008 3:49:09 PM)

yet another example of why some people continue to ask, why am I single

eta to clarify - I hope[8|]

kinda loaded questions since discussion came out of singles forum ;) (not tat thread but the rest of the threads doink refers to such as are Christian men wimpy, good guys vs bad boys, friends first )

stellaluna -> RE: CW Underground (5/27/2008 4:26:16 PM)

The idea that a tattoo would be a deal breaker is beyond me, since every other woman (and man) has one. And it seems like one of those things that get in the way of seeing the people God puts in front of you.

(Didn't know that thread was out of singles. But that explains a lot. [8|])

iwillfearnoevil -> RE: CW Underground (5/27/2008 4:58:14 PM)

i haven't really seen it come up that much as people saying it's a dealbreaker altho someone was insisting upon it in that thread ... i don't get it either ... but i think a single woman with tattos would be better able to answer the question if they've been discriminated against ...

stellaluna -> RE: CW Underground (5/27/2008 5:30:56 PM)

Riddle me this: are these single Christian men really quizzing potential dates beforehand about tattoos? Do you think they even have the nerve? (And yes, I'm asking for opinion on that.)

I think one of the posts that bothered me so much was the guy who now thinks differently of a long-time friend because her back is tattooed. Man...I hope I don't have any friends like that.

iwillfearnoevil -> RE: CW Underground (5/27/2008 5:42:01 PM)

if someone only asks out women they know and it's a deal breaker, i bet they ask somehow before it gets to that point. stella - just stay covered in visibile tattoos and you won't need to worry about any friends changing their opinion of you ;)

stellaluna -> RE: CW Underground (5/27/2008 5:46:20 PM)

Well, that's the thing of it. My tattoos are large, for the most part, but people I work with don't know I have them. People at church probably don't know I have them. And no, I didn't strategically place them so that they could be covered up. I chose certain body parts for certain tattoos and vice versa. My arms aren't tattooed yet because that's prime real estate and I want to get just the right art! [8D]

So...that's why I say these guys could be really attracted to someone on a lot of different levels and find out she has a tattoo. So would that really be a deal breaker? It's silly if it's so.

And I suspect these guys would run screaming the other direction if they ran across a group of my friends...there's ink everywhere. Literally. And they should see my husband. [;)]

JustJeannie -> RE: CW Underground (5/27/2008 9:20:14 PM)

My tattoos are placed where I wanted them; they just happen to be where I can keep them covered if I want. I have no qualms whatsoever about putting something in an always visible spot, but like Stella said, not until I find the perfect artwork. I will admit my first two were flashes, but they were something I wanted and I didn't have to draw them out myself. My next will have to be something that either I or my daughter has drawn.

Loving this:

No wonder it is getting tough for a Christinan man to find a wife. Between the input of feminisim that has affected most every woman in the U.S. to tattoos, to the overweight problem too many women have, is a slim chance of finding one.

hehehehehehehe

a slim chance of finding one [that will remain eternally slim and perfectly manicured.]

Sounds like he is looking for June Cleaver. What I think most fella's want (I know that's a broad brush there folks) but are afraid to say is that they want a tiny bit of freak hidden beneath the 1950's apron~ ya know the dutiful wife that brings him his slippers and lights his cigar but does so with a seductive wink.

I shouldn't of said that out loud huh???

hmmm...yeah

Here's to keeping up their idiocy, and saving some poor woman out there the hassle of putting up with such small-minded, ignorant of plain ol' facts, self-centeredness. I'm sure their mommies have their hands full already, anyways.[sm=aside.gif]

Here's also to being reminded why I don't poke around here on a regular basis anymore. [8|]

Good grief. Back to my feminist lesbian witchcraft. I got some kids to murderize.

You mean like a Stepford Wife?[sm=wink.gif]

JustJeannie -> RE: CW Underground (6/6/2008 12:26:49 AM)

What????????? LOL

iwillfearnoevil -> RE: CW Underground (6/6/2008 11:00:40 AM)

ha! but seriously doink and mia (and anyone else), you don't think there are women out there who wouldn't date a man with a tattoo sleeve covering his arm?

I'm sure there are - I don't happen to know any, but they're bound to be out there somewhar.

JustJeannie -> RE: CW Underground (6/6/2008 11:08:15 AM)

I've learned to look at the PERSON, not what he/she WEARS. I've been on the other side of that situation, and it doesn't feel good...

You should start a thread in She Says. [;)]

i could but then i think people would incorrectly assume i have one and i wouldn't want to be judged, lol ;)

stellaluna -> RE: CW Underground (6/6/2008 12:35:04 PM)

All right, that made me laugh. But how do you know you're not being judged for something else? [sm=eek.gif] [8D]

You could start out your post with, "I don't have a tattoo, but..." Or, "a bunch of guys in He Says won't date a woman with a tattoo..."

Just a thought.

Mrs.Wifey -> RE: CW Underground (6/6/2008 1:40:58 PM)

Ha, ya'll saw that thread. I read the whole thing and then was stunned that my lovely husband find tattoos to be attractive if done tastefully[:D][:D]

I had mine done a couple weeks ago and so far it healed beautifully with the exception of a small part that ended up with 2 small blisters of some sort. I might need to have that area touched up... HERE is a picture from right after it was done.

stellaluna -> RE: CW Underground (6/6/2008 2:21:24 PM)

They could be ingrown hairs. I actually ended up with a small HOLE in my geisha because the artist overworked a part of her hair, but once it healed you can't even tell where it was. Maybe yours will be the same. Looks good, though. [sm=thumbsup.gif]

so you got yours before or after you knew he liked them lol?

miasma -> RE: CW Underground (6/10/2008 1:11:39 PM)

It's not so much whether or not they have tattoos, so much as what they are. Of course I'd date a guy with full sleeves, just as much as I'd date a guy who didn't have any tattoos.

But, I'd be far less likely to date him if I didn't like what he had tattoo'd on him. Doesn't have anything to do with tattoos, but with personal tastes, interests, ideals, etc.

So, basically, I'd date him for who he was, not his personal choices in accessories.
