I like polkas (being 3/4 Polish myself), but I can't imagine any with an inspirational message! I tend to think that polkas were given to us merely for entertainment! If there is such a thing, pray tell, who performs it? Are there any "Christian" polka bands out there?

One night as he was driving us all around on important errands such as toilet papering various houses, we discovered an eight track still in one of little storage consoles. I don't remember the name of the group, but the song may have been Christian. It was a polka, and the only lyrics I remember were, "In heaven there is no beer, that's why I drink it here, and when I go up there, my friends will be drinking all my beer." Just good clean fun, for the most part. I cannot imagine anyone setting serious lyrics to a polka, it's just not built for that sort of thing. I wish I owned a few good polka CD's. There is a station in Chicago that plays polkas on Sunday afternoon, and I tune in every once in a while. Anyway, I agree with the point about CCM being Christian entertainment for the masses! ..but as regards "Christian" polka music? Probably the closest you would get to that would be polkas performed by Christians, but I don't think there is any out there with Christian lyrics or moral themes... ...unless you think "Who Stole The Kiska?" is a tune directed against thievery!
