ORIGINAL: bluestone I have found that most people get irritated by them. Or laugh at them. I don't use them at all anymore. I think chic tracts are just plain offensive. In this day and age, it is a very low tech tool that, IMO, makes Christians look backwards. Just opinion, however. I personally have used Chick Tracts for the past three years and find them to be very true to the Gospel. God can use anything for his glory. We won't know until we get to heaven if our efforts were in vain, which I doubt they were.

Well, whatever works for you. Performance isn't the issue obedience is. I was trying think of a nonthreatening way to make myself known to strangers. The Holy Spirit flashed, 'Since the back side your business card blank take advantage and promote your church!' and hand them the 'church' side! They see 'the eye' for two seconds(I watch 'em)and tell them '...on the other side' go from there. Some comment on the 'the eye' and/or my 'job' title, Loose Cannon, but most remember me and 'my card'.

I love handing out (and leaving) tracts! They are great conversation starters! My Husband, my best friend, and I would go out on a Friday night to the Park filled with people. We would first Pray... Then we'd Prayer Walk, and we'd hand each person a tract as we'd say something like this; "Hi! Did you get one of these?" (We got all kinds of responses! Some were; ("Thanks!" "No thanks." "What is it?" Etc.) Sometimes we'd walk up to little groups of people and just ask them what they thought about Jesus, and get to share some testimonies! This one time, we ended up conversing with a crowd of highschool kids, telling us that they believe in BOTH evolution and creation, and that the Bible is just a bunch of made up stories... (They also call themselves Christians, and they are from a Catholic School.) We all talked for about an hour, and we brought our Bibles and got to share many Scriptures! Before it was all over we got to pray with two of the young men who wanted to repent of their sins and recieve Jesus as their Lord and Savior!

Amen!! My daughter was recently told that if she didn't go to "church" she would go to Hell? I didn't know that going to church gave you a ticket to Heaven. Thank you for your words of encourgement. quote:

Real relationships work better and witnessing face to face I believe. Family to family evangelism is a practice worth practicing. People from Muslim cultures, for example, cherish family relations, and enjoy seeing parents and children enjoying one another. And kids profit from being able to put a face to prayer requests. Let's face it, most families are miserably aware that they've lost control over their interfaces to the outside world. An evangelist who respects, honors, and supports the unbeliever's family, by dealing with the whole family in a godly way, is a breath of fresh air in a mercenary milieu. When you visit your Muslim friends, greet the husband first, for example.

ORIGINAL: sunshine4God I think they might work but I have a suspicion most people just toss them. Real relationships work better and witnessing face to face I believe. Yeah, I actually agree with you. I sometimes call(Harshly, I admit) using only tracts as "wussy witnessing." But hey, if they work, they work. Of course I should confess, I rarely do any kind of evangelism and it is something I have been praying about.

I hear you with rarely evangelizing.I am shy about witnessing so don't do it very often.I gotta pray for more opportunities and let God use me more ya know.
