Jeremiah 29:11-14

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you," declares the LORD, "and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile."

Thanks for starting us out this morning. It was a good verse for me to read and be reminded of.

I am home from court.

I took 4 hours vacation leave for this morning because I always want to make sure that I am covered time wise. The question I have now is do I rush to work or relax at home a bit and get over appearing in court.

vmginny -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/21/2008 10:57:44 AM)

Waiting to hear about your weekend Dee.

Barb are you o.k.?

Bubbles5 -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/21/2008 2:19:31 PM)

Hi Everyone [sm=wave.gif]

How sweet of you to ask Ginny...yes I am fine. Very busy morning tho. I called the flooring guy, to come over this morning to fix my closet carpet and some flooring that was comeing loose in my kitchen. He was here all morning. Then my daughter came over with Isabelle and I was busy with her. Now I am in my bedroom putting back all the shoe's that are on my closet floor.

Hey...I got a job outside my home! Went for a interview Sat. afternoon and they offered my the job Sunday. It's just a offic cleanning job at a cardboard factory. Problem is it's only three hours..three nights a week. I'm not sure if it's worth my wild to drive 25 minutes away from home for that. But I took it, and will try it out. If I'm spending all my money earned on gas, I will have to quit. Sort of excited about it tho. Now I have to juggle some dentist appts around. Also have to make sure my husband can get Cody to work. He also has to get him to his driveing classes that start in May. Plus I will have to make supper ahead of time on Mon. Wen. and Fridays.

Good Monday Morning [sm=wave.gif]

Thanks for the verse thisistheday. I so appreciate that one. Ah the love and faithfulness of our Abba.

Glad that you are finished with the court thing for awhile Ginny. Rest in knowing that the L~rd went with you and has and will keep preparing your way.

My day is shaping up to watch my grandson today for a few hours. He is 18 mo old and into everything. My house is really small and not really baby proofed. I was concerned last night as to how I was going to entertain him and keep my sanity and in the middle of the night when I was awake (as usual) the L~rd reminded me that I could take him to my daughter's house which is large and he could play with his cousins. So that is the plan. Ahhhhh! [sm=wink.gif]

Dinner tonight is leftover Seder food - beef brisket, potato kugal, chopped liver and a yet unnamed veg. It was good the first night so it should be reallly good tonight.

Bubbles5 -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/21/2008 4:33:16 PM)

Not sure what my guys will prepare for dinner tonight. It's my first night of work. I do have hot dogs and mac/cheese set out tho.
The wall washing went fine last Friday. I was paid $20 per hour!!
I have to go over there again tomorrow,and finish up tho. I put in 5 hours on Friday,and I will probally put that amount of time in for tomorrow.

leah777 -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/21/2008 5:01:14 PM)

Hey, everyone! I found this thread this morning, and tho I didn't have time to post, I thought I'd subbed to it [&:] . . . owell.

So, thanks for starting us off with such wonderful scripture, Dee. Anxious to hear about your weekend, so don't forget to post [;)]

Ginny, it's so good to hear the hearing is over, and things went ok. I hope you just took the time to relax and get over the court thing -- you deserve it!

Barb, a new job . . . hmmmmmm . . does that mean less time on here?? Plesae tell me you're not going to neglect us too much [8|] . . . but I understand your excitemetn. Let us know how it goes. And hey, a workin' woman has got to call for reinforcements, so teach those guys how to fend for themselves while you're at work! And great job on the wall-washing! It's worth every penny of that!

Marsha, that sounds like a really good idea! Hope it worked out for you. Supper? . . . hmmmmm . . . I picked up some salmon while I was in town this morning. I could make salmon cakes, but I don't have any velveeta to make mac & cheese -- we really enjoyed my homemade mac & cheese last time, but I think I made it with Velveeta. Anyone else have a different recipe?

I haven't done much today after our trip to town this morning. I was done in by the time we got home. I did find me a window for my new 'dining room'. I've decided to take the dividing wall down between the dining room and flower room, move the dining table back into that area, then I will need to put a larger window in there or it would be very dark. I found a nice one in town this morning -- a slider, I think you call them -- opens by sliding sideways. It was really reasonable, and I've already called the floor repair guy to come install it for me. He said possibly Wednesday or Thursday. He'll also take the wall down and move the electric for me.

I took a fall down our living room steps Friday . . . so very graceful [8D] . . . . besides, it hurt! I hit my head on our oak entertainment center, and tho it should have left a big knot -- or concussion! -- it only left a small tender area on my head, but made my neck as sore as all get-out. Go figure. Also bruised my upper arm/shoulder -- gonna be a nice blue/purple bump there in a day or two, I'd say. I simply missed the first step as I was coming down. Thankfully, there are only 3 steps, so I didn't fall too far. Judi & Jim & their g-s were here to witness [8|] . . think I scared a few years off Judi's life . . sheesh!

Hi Ginny! I hope court went OK.

Barb, I hope the job works out for you.

My weekend. Saturday my daughter had made plans to meet up with some friends about two hours away. These were five kids she did cyberschool with three years ago, when she was in eighth grade. So they are mostly online friends.

While in town we bought a prom dress for E also. Last night E was ready to go to prom with someone else, this morning she was ready to return the dress, and this evening we are back to square one.

After we found the dress and met up with E's friends hubby and the two kids with us went to see Horton Hears a Who.

My middle daughter, K, who is 13, got to go to western Kansas Saturday on a school field trip.

I started this post a while ago, so we'll see what I missed....

Dee

OK, I missed that Leah is moving walls, and hit her head. I'm glad you are OK Leah.

Dee

magdaleine -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/21/2008 5:52:00 PM)

I'm going to try to stick with this week's chat thread. Sorry I've been absent from so many of them lately. Life is good. I'm walking more than I had been and that's good. I've made some more friends from the streets and that's cool. I've also found more places with wireless internet access. I thought at first that they were free because they're provided by my ISP but I've since found out differently. Still, it's very inexpensive so they do provide reasonable alternatives when I want a different place to sit and enjoy. I love being out and about but today it's not happening. I went to bed too late and so got up way too late.

Hisjoy -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/21/2008 8:15:13 PM)

(((((Ginny))))) Have a good rest. Hope all is well.

Congrats on your job, Barb!

You're making me hungry, Marsha! Great idea to take the grandson to your daughter's house!

Ouch, Leah. I hope you are doing OK. You house plans sound great.

Today the sign sent up in our yard, "For Sale." A strange feeling, but the Lord has His plan and that's the best!

thisistheday -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/21/2008 8:40:14 PM)

Good to see you here Maggie and Joy!

Ooooh, I can imagine the weirdness of a for sale sign in the yard.

Maggie, it sounds like you are still having cool adventures with your walking!

My 4yo daughter (R) and 10yo son (N) are playing pirate. It's very sweet. N calls R lass and lassie when playing. I'm the mommy pirate over here. The other when were leaving I locked the door and R asked if we locked our house so bad guys, like pirates, wouldn't get in.[:D]

Hubby is chipping away at the cement that holds our old laundry line up. Apparently they wanted that post in there good. Too bad it got rotten.

Dee

magdaleine -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/21/2008 8:58:40 PM)

Joy, I hope your house sells quickly though I know it's going to be bitter sweet when it does.

Dee, I'm having great adventures in my walking. I usually write about them in my thread.

leah777 -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/21/2008 10:08:12 PM)

Dee, sounds like an interesting weekend . . sure hope E gets to wear her new dress [;)] . . . I wouldn't mind seeing Horton Hears a Who [:D] . . . guess the pirates have gone to bed by now [;)] . . . . I wonder if my hubby has ever been up that way -- when he puts something in, it is meant to last thru 2-3 generations, so we have concrete 'posts' in our yard that our grandkids may one day have to dig out [&:]

Joy, good to hear about the For Sale sign . . well, about you being ready for it. I'm sure there are a lot of mixed emotions about the whole thing. Yes, I'm doing fine from the fall . . . was light-headed for a bit, but nothing lasting. I guess we're just finally getting some things done that have been needing done for quite some time. I'm hoping for another 20 years in this house, and so many things were desperately needing attention. I finally decided the time had come.

Maggie, sure hope you get to stay with us this week [:D] . . have missed your presence in here.

Oh my!

thisistheday -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/22/2008 12:11:13 AM)

There are two posts of course, and the one had been replaced before, and I don't remember that one being bad at all, Leah. We bought the house from a contractor, and he must have had a lot of leftover cement that day.

Dee

Leah, are ya up yet?

leah777 -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/22/2008 7:57:47 AM)

Well, Denny, at that time I was not -- can ya believe it??? Slept in this mornin', I did! But I'm up now, dressed, and already made a trip to the attic for our summer clothes. Now they are all over the laundry room floor and must be dealt with asap.

Good Tuesday morning, everyone! I'm off to the laundry room . . . ck back in later.

Bubbles5 -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/22/2008 9:39:01 AM)

Good Morning Everyone [sm=wave.gif]

Leah, you better be careful with them liveingroom steps from now on girl!
Could have really hurt yourself. I love them slider windows. Don't have one here in my house but I have always liked them. No..this new job won't take me away from the net. It's a small part-time job. Mon. Wen and Friday from 5PM-8PM. It only pays $8 an hour. First night was last night. Lets just say I got my work-out alright! Goodness..I never seen so many offices in one building! They all needed to be vaccumed, and the trash dumped out, and the desk's dusted off. And that's just part of the job. Also have to clean four bathrooms and the big break room. Then any windows, or glass doors, need to be cleaned off. I know there is more I have forgotten about. This job is 28 miles round trip for me. My husband says the first hour of work/pay is eaten up in gas already. Then they will take out taxes so I wonder what my "take home" pay will become. LOL
Even if I keep this job till my daycare kids come back, that will be alright. The daycare kids come back June 16 and June 18th. Then I will have tow babies and two toddlers. Plus I start a new little boy next Monday...hopefully. He is one of Pam's daycare boys. She decided to fill his position with a full time little girl. And because the dad works near my house she told him to bring Tommy here.(Pam is also trying to help me out) What a GREAT sister huh?

Dee, don't ya wish there were more places to RENT them prom dresses?
My Katie has this lovely dress that just sits in her closet now. What a waste.

Maggie, great to see you pop in! Always nice to hear from you. I love reading about your adventures.

Joy,
Don't forget to get some pictures of your house from the outside with that For Sale sign in the pictures. You will enjoy them later.

magdaleine -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/22/2008 9:59:49 AM)

Good morning everyone! Denny, it's good to see you here in the chat thread.

I didn't have to get up once last night, which is very unusual. But I'm still tired. I need to go eat breakfast and then go walking but I just can't seem to move myself in that direction.

Bubbles5 -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/22/2008 10:50:13 AM)

Denny, yse I was gonna comment on seeing you around more these days! [:D]

Maggie, I don't feel like doing much either today. It's cloudy and rainning outside. That sunshine sure does help me get motivated. But I am getting ready to scrub the neighbors walls again today. She is'ent feeling well, so I'm just gonna go do her front porch walls and floor. Still have her kitchen and office to finish up sometime soon tho.

Well the rain has stopped for the time being so guess I better walk over there...............

magdaleine -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/22/2008 10:59:40 AM)

My walls could use some scrubbing, Barb! Actually, the room I'm in (dining room) needs all the ancient wallpaper stripped off and replaced. Bedroom too.

Bubbles5 -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/22/2008 12:52:51 PM)

Maggie,
Never took wallpaper off before. Don't know if I would like that chore or not.
I did get more than half of her porch done, and half the floor. Got the ceiling fan going, to dry everything for now. Came home to watch my soap and eat some lunch. Should only take me an hour to finish up over there. Also got most of them HIGH ceiling done out there. I must be scared of heights cause I shake when I first get up there. Have to hang onto the rafters to stedy myself. [:o]

thisistheday -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/22/2008 12:59:20 PM)

Hi all!

Did you get your walk yet Maggie? Wallpaper stripping--that's a lot of work.

How's the laundry Leah?

Barb, yes, it's just crazy spending so much on a dress. But somebody was telling me they spent $109 to rent a tuxedo. I had no idea it was that much to even rent. I wish it wasn't so hard to fit and know what a dress would look like on; otherwise eBay would be a better option.

Dee

Bubbles5 -> RE: Come Chat April 21-27, 2008!!!!! (4/22/2008 3:11:35 PM)

Dee,
See we could go into business renting out prom dresses. Open our own little shop. Might even stock tuxes for them young guys, at a more reasonable rate! [sm=thumbsup.gif]
