Cynpurr72 -> RE: KINDRED SPIRITS - Encourage One Another (9/14/2008 3:28:40 AM)

Hi,
I am new here but have been a Christian since a young child. I would just like to say I don't know anything about kindred spirits because
the secular friends I have use the same term and it definatly is NOT
the same as what is being referred to here!!!!!!! God Bless You All!!!
I also had to smile when someone brought up Psalms 91----I used to read that and almost know by memory when I have had bad dreams.
They made those dreams go away in a hurry!!![:D]
Thanks for sharing and opening this thread it has been very helpful
for me as I deal with a lot of secular people and those who say they are "Christan"----We shall be known by our thost and deeds both done or undone. God be with those of you in need. May His Will guide your footsteps. Phil4:13 and James 1...."Consider it all joy my bretheren when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith proves endurance....and let it have its perfect result....." so kindred? not what the non Christian thinks definately! We need to be with those of like faith.
In Him,
Cynpurr[:)]

Welcome Cynpurr72.
I agree, we need to come together. We're told to encourage each other. And we're told that, that is how it will be know that we belong to Christ. That we love one another.

Liveloved -> RE: KINDRED SPIRITS - Encourage One Another (9/15/2008 3:33:58 PM)

Welcome Cynpurr!

This morning my encouragement came from Psalm 119, verse 57.
The Lord is my portion.

Amen.

We are doing a study on characteristics of the flesh on Wednesday nights, and of all the verses we looked at tonight, this is the one that really jumped out at me:

It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery - Galatians 5:1

Christ did all that for us so we could escape the yoke of slavery, the bondage of sin. Just meditating on this verse lifted my spirit so much! [:)]

{2:32d-e} there will be DELIVERANCE as the LORD has said

{2: (20f) - 22b} Surely he will do GREAT things. Be not afraid, O land; BE GLAD & REJOICE. Surely the LORD will do GREAT things. Be not afraid, O wild animals, for the open pastures are becoming green.

{2:18-19,20a-b<ALT>} Then the LORD will be jealous of His land & take pity on His people. The LORD will reply to them: "I am sending you grain, new wine & oil, enough to satisfy you fully; never again will I make you an object of scorn to the nations.

Joel NIV ^
-------------------

{ In Deut.9:3 (v.), it says "Be asured today that the LORD your God is the one who goes across ahead of you...He will subdue them before you, so you may drive them out..." ~ The LORD not only went ahead of His people, but He also exerted His power along side them & through them to assure victory. }

Ps. 135:14 For the LORD WILL vindicate his people & have COMPASSION on his servants.

Isa. 46:4b-d, 11c-d ...I am he who WILL sustain you. I have made you & I WILL carry you; I WILL sustain you & I WILL RESCUE you. ... What I have said, that will I BRING ABOUT; what I have planned, that I WILL DO.

Isa. 49:13 Shout for joy, O heavens, REJOICE, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the LORD COMFORTS his people & WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON HIS AFFLICTED ONES

Micah 7:7,8b-d,9e-f (NIV)
But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD; I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.
Though I have fallen, I will rise.
Though I sit in darkness, the LORD will be my light.
He will bring me out into the light, I will see His righteousness.

Only God could turn an irritating grain of sand into a precious, valuable pearl.

When you get irrritated, come to God & see what wondrous things come from it.

I heard this mentioned very recently. I heard it mentioned on TV. I believe it was Dr Adrian Rodgers (although I'm not 100% certain of it being him). It was not the exact same words but the theme of the pearl and the sand was the same.

The Lord's lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23

Thank You Lord!

Lam. 3, v.22 MSG,[v.23b AMP.] God's loyal love couldn't have run out,
his merciful love couldn't have dried up.
[great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness.]

Job 37:23 NLT We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty,
yet He is so just & merciful that He does not oppress us.

part of James 5:11 NASB the Lord is full of compassion & is merciful

It is the Lord Who goes before you; He will be with you. He will [march] with you; He will not fail you or let you go or forsake you; [let there be no cowardice or flinching, but] fear not or be dismayed, neither become broken [in spirit--depressed ... & unnerved with alarm].

I hope all of you aren't abandoning this thread, nobody else has posted in 20 days. [:(]

Focusing -> RE: KINDRED SPIRITS - Encourage One Another (10/26/2008 8:32:18 PM)

Nope, not abandoning the thread. [:)]

I was reading Ecclesiastes 3 this morning, which of course begins ...

There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven

and it provided so much encouragement! It is a beautiful reminder that we will come and go through seasons in our life, none of which will last forever. Not until we are in heaven for all eternity. [:)]

It's so important to be reminded through reading the Word that, although right now might be tough and not a place we want to be in, it will pass away, and we will move into a new season. It has helped me so much.

I pray that God is blessing each of you through whatever season you are in. [:)]

Liveloved -> RE: KINDRED SPIRITS - Encourage One Another (10/27/2008 2:24:03 PM)

Nope, I haven't abandoned either.

And the beautiful reminder from my psalm this morning is this thought:

Had it not been the Lord who was on our side. . .

(fill in the blank with your personal 'whatever')

Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 124:1,8

So glad to see this thread alive again. [sm=chick.gif]

Hebrews 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
